  1. Fair. I doubt they floated when finding the dead was a part of the dynamic.

It never is until they’re the dead we’re looking for. I’ve been doing this for almost 14 years. I stepped away from the task force in ‘22 after 9 deployments; 7 with TF-2 and 2 with a TIFMAS backed EMTF to Moore and the panhandle. I was in Houston for 23 days during Harvey. I have coworkers that recall finding bodies in Wimberley by the smell and presence of flies. I don’t make my comments from a position of safety from behind a keyboard on dry land, but from a position of considerable experience. It’s

  2. I’ve a good friend who has been kayaking flooded rivers in Texas since he was a teen. It is something he and his dad do.

I’m sure they’re fine people, but the arrogance of doing that and potentially putting first responders at risk simply because you wanted to get your jollies off is peak ‘Merica. Not to mention having to allocate resources and efforts away from the current issues to address a 100% avoidable problem they created via selfish behavior.

  3. Kerrville City Manager:
-- idiots are flying personal drones, cut it out

That entire county is under a TFR. When you violate a TFR you ground all other aircraft in the area (SAR and med flights). Violation of a TFR is a federal crime. Maybe our government could make themselves useful and prosecute these selfish pricks….

  4. So we need just a little bit of help. I’m trying to accompany my daughter and grandkids back from the San Angelo area to Round Rock tomorrow. I’m trying to figure out the safest path back, but the problem is that both San Saba and Llano are showing extensive flooding. So I don’t know if it’s clear on 190 east thru San Saba. It seems like 29 thru Llano is toast. Thoughts?

Ballinger to Brownwood to Lampasas, but that leaves the Liberty Hill and Georgetown areas that have been inundated today left to traverse. I’d recommend y’all find a way to spend another day or two in SA. TIFMAS teams leaving dfw this morning had a very hard trek once they got to Jarrell.

  5. It’s finally stopped raining in Kerrville. Unfortunately, now you can really hear choppers and sirens.
    C-130 landing at Mooney Airport.

That should be Texas NG with TF-1’s supply cache

  6. Ask HH if my boujee ass is going to Benbrook.

Now that you’ve put that on my radar I’ll have to go play there next time we’re playing in Benbrook.

Man you’re braver than me. I won’t even stop in Benbrook for diesel at 4am.
  7. I cook my proteins in 3-4 day batches and then refrigerate. Same with my rice or potatoes. Portion out on the scale what I need and throw it in the skillet when I can. Reheated on the stove is 100x better than the microwave if time allows. My Tupperware game is legit. The day before I run out I do it all again. Being prepared helps remove the tendency to deviate and be bad because of how easy a pizza or other takeouts are.

  8. "I thought they would be a little bit tighter as a group. I thought it'd be like my experience in Atlanta. Everyone wanted to pull on the same rope, everyone wanted to hangout and do everything together. Winning was the most important thing. Everyday.
When I got in the clubhouse in Texas. There's a lot of talent in there and there's a lot of individual stuff going on. A lot of guys are doing their own thing. You might not see people until the game. Guys are just kinda doing their own thing.
Not a lot of BP. Not a lot of stretching together. Maybe for me, just being the outcast -- it's a lot of the same guys that won the World Series -- so maybe I was kinda on the outside. I was looking for more of a way to get in that inner circle and that comes through stretching and BP where you talk about things that aren't baseball and you get to know guys."

Was it about a month ago when I told you he didn’t appear to speak to anyone, ever, at any time? And always had a look on his face and in his eyes like he could burst into tears at any second. Maybe what he’s saying has merit, but he didn’t seem all in either.

  9. I do 25 minutes on the stairmaster 5-6 days a week, but twice a week I also do 10 calories in 20 seconds on the assault bike. 60 second rest, then do it again. 10 rounds for 100 calories total.

Isn’t there a lot of research that says plain cardio is meh for weight loss?

Correct. Zone 2 is where you want to be for optimal fat loss.
