Sure don't, but we have no clue what's behind him. None. For all we know Arch could come out over and underthrowing deep balls like Ewers used to. Then TCU walks their safeties up and takes away our run game with no way to hurt them. Next thing you know we can't put long drives together due to negative plays and procedure penalties, and all the explosiveness is gone from the O. It's not a foregone conclusion that Arch will walk out there accurately pitching it all over the lot.

brooks if he's healthy, baxter if he's healthy, blue and red....300 yards rushing. Take some shots to keep them in that 3 high safety look and pound the fucking rock. I think Maalik is in way over his head but he's better than casey thompson. Sark made casey thumbson look really fucking good several times so Maalik is going to be fine. If we have to count on Arch to step in and manage a game then I think we are fucked. That's a huge stage to be tossed out on, and then asked to keep the ship right at 8-1 staring down a big 12 title game and possible CFP berth.

The way people fawned over Thompson and his shitty deep ball ducks is classic “you guys” over Rising.

GJ Kinne v Colt is matchup you have no idea how would have turned out and only have Colts success at our program to judge, and not Kinne at Tulsa to fall back on

Wtf. Rising transferred before there could be a Thompson v rising debate. Sam was a junior when rising transferred. Damn, are you trolling us? If so I fell for it lol. Colt v kinne is not something I had on my bingo card…ever. Colts success at our program made him a hall of famer haha. This has been a strange argument.

The Big Lebowski Child Who Wanders Into The Middle Of A ...

He signed in 07 and transferred in 08. Colt won 45 fucking football games. You wanted us to be patient with GJ kinne? Squints was a 5 star, best qb in his class recruit. If mack isn’t a complete idiot and we don’t change the offense then Gilbert is another Texas legend. Adding kinne to that list was stupid.

Saban won with Greg f'n McElroy. Got to a national title game with a version of Jalen Hurts that couldn't throw, then won it after going to a true freshman in the NC game. Stoops won one with a game manager QB. Meyer won 2 with a QB that got exposed in the NFL because he couldn't throw. There's many more examples.

The way they were able to win? Recruit elite talent then coach to those teams strengths and weaknesses, and show the ability to change things up when they aren't working. To adjust their coaching style to the team they have. Sark has shown he can recruit elite talent but he needs a ton of work on the other aspects of being an elite HC. It's why now Sark is an elite recruiter and very very good play caller but not a great HC.

The problem is he's not showing that he's recognizing his faults and improving them. He's not adjusting. That's our concern, dude.

Mark Ingram was on that team lol. It was an elite ground attack with multiple first round draft picks along the OL and Ingram himself. Tua is a Vince like generational player, you can’t say the coach is good because he let tua be Tua haha. Mack let Vince be Vince, he’s still an inept douche bag who only won 2 big 12 titles. Urban had the most talented roster in all of college football and as soon as he didn’t he quit. Stoops had the best defense in football when he won the title. These coaches aren’t elite because they are smarter than everyone else. They have generational players that don’t allow them to fail. Stoops, Meyer, Dabo, saban, smart…cheating their balls off in recruiting. It’s not some complicated scheme, better players equals more championships. Switzer said it best, it ain’t the X’s and O’s, its the  jimmys and joes.

Do you use this logic to excuse Ewers?

    Who?

Ewers was playing because Tom herman was a fucking piece of shit. Card was not a very good qb, and he was all that we had to challenge Quinn. Casey Thompson and Hudson card aren’t Quinn Ewers in any aspect. Quinn needs to step up and hit the deep ball more often, without a doubt. If the defense respected the run they would play more base and Quinn would feast. He can and should continue to play better but he’s light years better than Maalik.

    happy or sorry for you

Yes the NFL QBs who is now having plenty of success as HC at Texas State

LOL. I’ll shorten it for you, Maalik is always going to blow. Highlight throws, yes. Bone head throws, a ton of them. If he were having to play with a mediocre or average OC he would be awful. It is what it is. Luckily we have one of the best OC’s in all of college football on our staff lol.

Some of you would break up with the only girl who gave you pussy for looking in a guys direction

Garrett Gilbert, GJ Kinne, Shane Buechele, Cam Rising. All NFL signed or soon to be signed QBs you didn’t have patience for.

I remember how colt played in his second game. Would love to see the post Ohio State game comments then.

Goddamn y’all are drunk and stupid.

Shane had no chance of staying healthy in fuck face’s offense. It was good for him to transfer. Squints was unfortunate and that still breaks my heart. Maalik is a longhorn, I’ll fight some random strangers in a bar with him if need be. That doesn’t take away from some people on here saying Quinn sucked and they wanted to see Maalik lol. We have seen Maalik now, and he kinda sucks. He is injured, he can’t run, he doesn’t understand throwing the ball away or taking a sack, and he’s half ass cocky while being not very good yet. If he were a true freshman at 18 years old I would be fighting with you, but he’s damn near 20 and has been at Texas since January of 2022. This is his second year in the program. He should know to throw shit away, eat a sack or toss a ball down into the ground. Fuck me to tears.

Bro- The play Red fumbled on was supposed to be a pass to Sanders. So what I am saying is they tried.

This is the wrong thread but that play is the kind of bullshit that the head coach has to eat but is out of his control. That was a pivotal play. He called a good play and red decided to shit the bed. We score on that play and maybe we walk away. In context, Bijan fumbled at the goal line against tech or we win that game, whole season has a different outlook. Your all American, doak walker winning, first round draft pick shits the bed in the only place he can’t shit the bed…sark has to eat the loss. It’s unfortunate but it’s why we should allow some up and downs without the “fire” this asshole now posts.

A lot of these mistakes cost us the loss in the Cotton bowl and they're not being addressed. Sark's unwillingness to coach to the team he has, and against the opponent in front of him, along with a lack of self evaluation and adjustments is what keeps him from taking the step from great recruiter and play caller to great head coach.

That's why we'll need a Burrow type that takes that out of his hands a lot and who can make the adjustments on the field in real time and get his offense into the right positions. Honestly, the good news is if anyone can do that with experience it should be a Manning.

I’ll give you some time to look this up, but find me a coach with a title that didn’t have a “burrow” type player. Then do me this favor, point to the Derrick Henry, Joe burrow, devonta smith, Trevor Lawrence, Vince young, or equivalent player on our roster right now ! Those great coaches you think that are out there just nailing every big call are actually just bullying other teams with better players. Henry rushed like 42 times to win the sec championship and a heisman his jr season. His ol was stacked with nfl draft picks. I’ve never looked but I bet their 4th conversion rate was real high. All I’m saying is I think sark can bring us to the promise land with his warts, because we are going to have a stacked team if he continues to recruit the way he is right now. Our staff is bad ass. The future is bright. Just my opinion bro.

He’s throwing with anticipation, where the receiver should be. Brooks was held up by the DL. That’s why there was no one there. If the lineman blocks that guy, it’s just incomplete.

Malik needs to learn when to throw it away. He’s probably got too much faith in his arm right now. Ewers had the same issue to a point last year.

Anticipation…on a screen pass. A do what. Watch that replay, 4 or 5 times if you have to. Brooks shucks that DL and sits down in between his blockers, in no universe does he keep running to the sideline away from the mass of his OL on a screen pass. He should throw that ball down at brook’s feet or into the upper deck of the stands, or turn and hit kleiman in the face with it. Anything but tossing it to their only defender on the sideline. That might be the worst play in Texas history if you take all the context into consideration. Those are 3 star k-state recruits, an all American LT, several all conference players mixed in and most likely an all American rb. Fuck my life.

    From IT:

On the subsequent drives Murphy was 8-25 for 93 yards at 3.7 ypa with two interceptions and a number of near-miss throws into danger.

that’s the numbers after his first three drives that I said was the worst job of QB play I’ve ever seen at UT (more or less) certainly when texas has good players.

Adding further color to that he missed 7 wide open guys, 2 of which were clearly Td’s and in addition to the 2 picks he also had two dropped by KSU that hit them in the hands.
anyone trying to polish that performance is Iraqi press minister level lying to themselves.
I say that, again, completely ecstatic about the win and thrilled that we are 8-1.

It’s not truly all that hard to keep 2 thoughts in your head at the same time.

Wow, that was a rough. Now look how good sark can make Malik look with his play calling randomly haha. If arch is even 3/4 of what he’s suppose to be and he stays healthy with sark, we are looking at some monster seasons coming up. I’m gruntled by that.

This has been referenced by several posters on The Surl. So. Sounds like we’ve got a pass defense problem. Does anybody address that or just hate on Sark calls? It’s the biggest problem we’ve got. It Lost the ou game. It Let Houston back in. It Let KSU catch up. Our rush is not scary anymore and the DBs! Are. Awful! it’s obvious to everyone watching film.

Between injuries, herman, and odd coach pairing I think we are having to wait till the younger guys get some experience. Jerrin Thompson type players just aren’t it.

blOU got the ball back with 2mins and 1 timeout left needing only 3pts to get into overtime.  So taking the FG by Venables instead of going for it on 4th and long was an acceptable decision.

The final blOU drive execution sucked -- that's why they lost.

they had only scored 21 points the entire game to that point, you thought they would kick a fg, make a stop and go down and score again with a minute 46 left? Haha you’d be eviscerated by surly if you were coaching.
