  1. Headed to Spain in a few weeks. I've booked 3 nights in Sevilla, 3 nights in Granada and 3 nights in Madrid: Day 1: Land in Sevilla (~9am) Day 2: Sevilla (visit the Royal Alcazar) Day 3: Sevilla (Ronda day trip?) Day 4: Sevilla --> Cordoba for the day --> Granada for the night Day 5: Granada (visit the Alhambra) Day 6: Granada Day 7: Granada --> Madrid Day 8: Madrid Day 9: Madrid Day 10: Fly out of Madrid in the AM For those who have been -- is it worth doing a day trip on Day 3 to see Ronda and some of the other white villages? We'll have access to a car in Sevilla (just for this portion of the trip, using high speed rail for the rest), but I've heard such great things about the city itself that I'm worried about sacrificing a day there (when our time is already limited). Also, wondering whether we should use one of the days in Madrid to see Toledo and El Escorial. Curious to hear y'alls thoughts!
  2. The refs may be kinder to us if we beat Bama week 2 and have a legit shot at the playoff. Big 12 would want a cut of that revenue too.
  3. How’s aggy going to get to .500 when they’re replacing their annual November UMass match up with us?
  4. I wish TexAgs would get audited… I’m sure those guys run a tight ship.
  5. Well, it’s been more than 24 hours. Texas and OU athletics still haven’t posted the schedule (other than the retweet) or updated their official websites to show 2023…
  6. It’d be a shame to lose one of the least competitive annual match ups in the history of sports.
  7. Yeah, the IT guys don’t hide their disdain for Farrell. Gerry seems to have a borderline pathological hatred for Ketch as well (more than most).
  8. FYI — It’s been ~2 hours and neither Texas or OU Athletics have posted the schedule or updated their websites… Every other Big 12 school has posted the schedule.
  9. I bet the Big 12 will be able to round up ~3-4 Houston-based aggy grads to ref our match up with cougar high.
  10. To anyone getting their hopes up, it’s naive to think Texas finishes top 2. The conference will 100% do whatever it takes to stop it. @Houston @ISU and @TCU will all be massive ref jobs.
  11. “Recruiting expert” Mike Farrell LOL
  12. It is Aki — confirmed by the IT insider (the one who was right about Catalon + Mitchell).
  13. “But honestly their record against our schedule would have likely been 3-9.” This hurts my brain… Did they not watch Tech kick the shit out of Ole Miss? And Kansas go to 4 OTs with Arkansas? And K State beat the piss out of Missouri? Their level of competition is no better than ours… We played Bama, 11 win UTSA and a full 9 game conference slate. They dodged Georgia and played UMass, Sam Houston, App State and Troy lol.
  14. Seconded — “The Menu” is hilarious and didn’t go where I expected. Definitely worth a watch.
  15. Yup, we overheard a Charlotte dad complaining about sending his kid to a $25k per year elementary school… Oof.
  16. Industry isn’t a critical factor. We love Austin, so we’re leaning that way (something to be said for family and familiarity). I think our reservations lie in how much Austin has changed, the heat, and affordability (or lackthereof) of raising a family in a decent neighborhood/school system. Pros and cons to everywhere, I guess. But transparently, as a late twenties/early thirties couple, I think we’re also spooked at the prospect of moving home, settling down, blinking and being sixty all of a sudden lol…
  17. Surly brain trust — After a few years in the Research Triangle, I’ll be moving soon for a new job (the company’s RTP office is small and might hinder career opps). Should I move back to Austin or give it a go in Charlotte? Factors to consider: Married w: no kids, we have family/friends in Austin, closest family to Charlotte is ~3 hrs… Trying to weigh living somewhere familiar near loved ones vs. trying something new… On paper, the draw to Charlotte is COL, mild weather, moderate political climate and access to the mountains.
  18. Yeah... I don't know where he came from, but @carsonsmith84 consistently seems to get info before the IT mods do haha. Pretty sure he told everyone the exact day Catalon would commit about a week before IT realized that the staff had serious interest...
  19. Sorry, I should have specified: my Evan Stewart fantasy died a while ago... You self-important ass. So important that you’ve accumulated 12,000 posts on surlyhorns — the mark of a truly successful life.
  20. My Evan Stewart fantasy has pretty much died… He’ll flirt with us to hold aggy hostage a couple more years, but I doubt he’ll actually bolt.
  21. 5-wide with Mitchell, Worthy, Whittington, Neyor, and Cook will be absolutely filthy.
