Three more? Who could that even be? I guess the likely one still left are Cook and Gullette. Maybe Muhammad, Hill, or Shelby?
I think Baxter, Cook, and Muhammad
Baxter pushed his commitment date but given Choice’s tweet about a bear (aka Baxter the bear) and 247 flubbing the commit pic, I think he’s a silent.
Cook for obvious reasons.
Muhammad just a guess.

I would think 2p CST is hardly “after dark” unless she’s in Europe/Asia.

This dude is a freak. His tape is nuts. Not just in terms of athleticism but just being in the right place at the right time.

Now this is the Arch effect I have been waiting for. Glad to see out of state studs are paying attention to what Sark is building. It's time Texas threw its weight around like the #1 college athletics brand we are.
Arch? Everyone knows Will Randle is the one who got this snowball rolling.

Baxter fresh off an A&M visit would be sick.

I wonder if there is actually higher upside to molding Stroh into more of a Mekhi Becton type rather than trying to slim him down. If they can keep him athletic and add 20-30 pounds, he would be an absolute monster.

This shit has already become like NFL contracts where the headline number is just for publicity. It’s probably full of clauses where he has to stay 5 years and win 5 straight Heismans to get to $9.5mm.
You can’t tie NIL money to on-field activities. At least, legally.

Add in Baxter, Gullette and Cook and we have the #1 class (after starting in the high teens this morning). Wild.

I remember I was at work on the trading floor and Arch’s commitment hit the scroll on my Bloomberg terminal. Needless to say, that is the first sports news outside of “XYZ won ABC championship” that I’ve ever seen on there.

SIAP, but this is some incredible bellyaching from Georgia talking heads (it gets really good at 4:25)
Dang that one guy in the red shirt is taking this so personally. Almost like Arch called him and told him to go fuck himself.

The Huddle: Cedric Baxter notes, checking in on two five-stars, another crystal ball

I mentioned today in the comments of a post that the early vibe from Cedric Baxter was that the Arch Manning commitment news was "lit, but wouldn't impact his recruiting process." What the source who relayed that message told me was that he views Texas as the current leader and Baxter isn't going to alter his timeline so you end up with the above quote.
I made a couple more calls about Baxter and across multiple recruiting circles the overwhelming word is that Texas is the leader. So I decided to follow Steve Wiltfong and make a crystal ball prediction for Baxter to Texas. As we've previously reported, Texas A&M is the biggest threat in this recruitment.
Mike and I have talked on the podcast and reported since Baxter's official visit that we loved where Texas stands in his recruitment and this pick reflects that trendline more than a reactionary prediction after Arch Manning popped.
Two national recruits that we have been circling for the past month are five-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor and five-star tight end Duce Robinson. The early returns we're getting from Proctor are that it might be too late for the Horns to make a substantial push as the mammoth OT is prioritizing Iowa and Alabama at the moment. We're going to continue to monitor Proctor as we know for a fact he and Manning have a pretty solid relationship but as of right now I struggle to see much developing.
Where we have heard some initial positive returns is Pinnacle's (Pheonix, AZ) Duce Robinson. We're waiting on a few calls and updates from Robinson at the moment, but as I stay cautious on Proctor I think there is some room for Texas to truly enter the race with Georgia and USC for Robinson.
In addition to Manning's commitment, how Texas effectively uses Jahleel Billinsgley and Ja'Tavion Sanders at tight end this upcoming season will be watched closely. The likelihood of Texas basing out of 12 personnel gives me the feeling a three tight end class isn't out of the possibility.
Sad to hear that about Proctor. That kid is a titan.

What people view as being “fast” is a lot more akin to acceleration than top speed. It’s generally easy for taller players to have a higher top speed because their strides are longer. But going 23mph for 0.1 seconds is not the same as having the best 40yd or 100m time.

2026 - 2nd year in SEC Texas may not play Bama, Arch RS Jr Season, definitely go pro.
2027 - Texas plays Alabama.
