I have yet to see an objective metric that says the SEC is significantly better than (or even better than) the Big 12.  Their obsession with the idea that Texas players couldn't excel in the SEC is nuts.  Three supporting data points:  1-0 vs UGA, 1-1 vs 'bama (and we got royally horsefucked by the refs on that loss).

Aggies are simpering suck-ups.  We're coming into the SEC not shitting on everyone but not afraid of anyone and not apologizing for anything.  Even in down years we don't behave like victims.  A$M can't distinguish the difference between us and them, but the rest of the SEC sure as shit does.

I think a critical lesson JWhitt needs to learn is to dance less. Make your cut, turn north and step on the gas. He has good wiggle, but does it too much. He's left a lot of yards after the catch on the table as a result.

Disagree.  I thought he was a huge YAC threat who broke tackles.  The critical lesson for him is the same as for Jordan Shipley:  don't get injured.

Elko should have just gone Junction Boys/Bear Bryant on Foster's ass.  Bear Bryant was perhaps the greatest coach of all time and clearly Foster was crying out for help. Foster could have been a high first round draft choice and needed a strong father figure to instill some discipline.

Disagree.  He should have gone to UCLA or Oregon for track & field and gotten as far away from the Peacock family as possible.

No, not never regarding our QB depth.  1969 - James Street, Eddie Phillips, Donnie Wigginton. 1977 - Mark McBath, John Aune, Randy McEachern.

Wow, I was just about to cite both of those examples.  You are correct.

I am happy to tell you what I know and why…so you can be happy to believe whatever you would like. I did my undergrad at SHSU (MBA @ UT) and am a fraternity brother of Conner’s dad. I could call him and he would answer, but I am not at that point in my life where I need  this drama. What I CAN tell you is that his dad is a solid dude and would never make excuses for injury, or allow his son to do so.  Believe what you want but be careful with your passive aggressive bullshit post.

I certainly didn't intend any passive aggression or offense.  I was responding to Roma's post which ran counter to yours.  Wasn't casting aspersions, quite the contrary.

I think an Aggie source that @closetojumping quoted stated that his ankle is still healing which was raising questions about who might start. In fact, as I think about it, I believe it was the head coach himself who said this. Further, medical professionals on this board described how serious the injury and that you don't know if it will heal all the way until it actually does.

I'm not saying Weigman's prospects are dire, but I don't believe they're as assured as you write.

Tree Fiddy, along with Dennis Taylor, is a friend of the family.  Or so I've been led to believe.

Should be obvious, guys. They promoted several folks and expanded their roles, not the least of whom is Brandon Harris. Sarkisian handled the whole thing in ways that smack of overconfidence in the wrong people on that end. Let's all see how it sorts itself out, but there is real risk on some significant fuck ups that can only be classified as unforced errors.

    Thanks.

So far three guys that are not totally unexpected. Hopefully it stays that way.

As big a fan of his as I was, even without the trouble Burrell wasn't a surprise.  But Gullette and Walton is more portal pain than I think most of us expected.  But I'm sure there are NIL dollars and immediate playing time awaiting both.  Kirkland, fine.  But I'm certainly not gruntled right now.

Baxter has to learn to like contact a bit more to improve.  At the end of the season he had a couple runs that were an improvement on that but he also had a game where he had 18 carries and 1 yard of YAC..

Like many (if not most) young RBs, Baxter ran a little too straight up last season, which makes YAC more difficult.  I think we'll see enormous improvement there.

I'm sure he can still play, you get a little rusty, but don't completely lose the ability in a few years, but that's not the question.

The real question is: should he still try to play? Obviously the Longhorn medical team didn't clear him so not sure seeking out one that will is the best idea.

We don't know that this is true; we do know we have a very talented and crowded RB room.  He's been out too long to likely crack the code for playing time here.

Certainly not always a 1-to-1 relationship, but they typically don't rate complete JAGs (working in the thread title) as 4-Star, Top 20 prospects.

Granted I never saw him play in HS, but I remember reading about him on the recruiting board.  But I know he was good enough for Jeff banks to recruit him twice.

I'm not an expert, scout or professional evaluator, but I do watch a fuckton of THSF, especially in the Metroplex, and Blackshire was surrounded by talent that made him look likewise, but he was very jaggy.  I am sorry we wasted a scholarship/NIL on him.  I'd much rather his snaps go to someone with upside, like Burrell, for instance.
