  1.  Texas jumped from 14th to 5th in Bill C's updated SP+ ratings following the WVU game.  SP+ loves Texas' offense and defense continues to climb the ratings up to 23rd this week.  Although 3-2, SP+ hasn't penalized Texas much for their two losses - one was an even matchup against an elite team while the other SP+ chalked up to terrible luck.  OU is sixth in the update but of course that doesn't factor in their current health issues.

see some of this is what i hate...i like advanced stats but some of these metrics don't jive with what else is out there.

this has Texas as #54 in NPD, FEI has Texas with the #30 NPD team, #36 on offense and #47 on defense.  https://www.bcftoys.com/2022-ppd/

idk what "net field position" is, but Texas is also #33 in net available yards: https://www.bcftoys.com/2022-ayp/ idk how Texas can literally be last in offensive field position (131 of 131) on offense but #33 in offensive available yards?? makes no sense to me.

This is purely based on current season EPA and isn't a projection system.  Without looking at quality of competition, Texas has been pretty much awful this season at generating EPA.

    Texas isn’t cursed.

They hire bad coaches in football and lose. They hire good coaches in the other sports and win.

How many people here were excited when it was initially leaked that Sark was to be hired?  It seemed like a really bad idea, almost a joke, at the time.

Maybe there were no good alternatives however after Meyer shot us down.

So Sark is exactly the same as last year? And we are going to do this how much longer?

Sark fucked up the DC hire, and that will probably end up costing him this job. I think he has shown promise in developing the offense, but he was handed a big bag of shit with the OL and that doesn’t get fixed until quickly, if seemingly ever.

He has limited play calling with Card, Card can’t get firsts so the defense is on the field the whole game, everything is different if Ewers could play.

The offense has moved the ball. The defense has been on the field all game because they can’t get stops on 3rd/4th down to save their lives.
