That second base umpire needs to be fired immediately
What about the home plate umpire? I don't think he has any idea where the zone is.

I am going to miss Derka. It's clear he genuinely loves the University and his posts usually are informative. Yes, there are rants but you can gloss over them instead of making fun. It's ok if you don't agree with his takes but who is to say who is correct. Some people can't help but bully (especially on the internet) and I believe this site is set up to encourage that behavior. I also think the 🖕 reaction is offensive. We should have thumbs up and down instead.

The average NFL player plays 3.3 years. For every guy that hits a second contract, many more wash out after a couple of years. Once you figure in the agent, taxes, and living expenses, a player taken after the 2nd round would be lucky to have 2 million in the bank at the end of his rookie deal. It's a nice nest egg, but if you're trying to live off of it the rest of your life, you're looking at about 60-80K a year (3-4% of 2 mil) to live on without touching your capital. If you get chosen in the first round or early second round, yes, that's life-changing money if you can hold onto it. But everybody else, unless you hit that second contract, odds are you're going to need an income-producing career after the NFL to live a comfortable middle-class lifestyle.
I bet a decent chunk of that money goes towards helping their families and girlfriends. It's not a lot of money once you factor in all the expenses these guys tend to have. Also, they probably don't believe this is all the money they are going to make in their NFL career, so they don't adjust their spending habits until it's too late.

Yeah.

Good thing Jamaal had the talent to go pro in something other than English or public speaking.

Doesn't any team need a TE? JT has to be the next TE taken.

What happened to Worthy and Mitchell in this draft should serve as a great teaching tool for Sark to use with his current roster. One guy struggled with catching contested passes, but kept his head down, worked his ass off and, as a result, went in the 1st round. The other guy had all the skills in the world to go in the first round but perhaps didn't have the best work ethic, didn't want to do the dirty things, and lost millions as a result. Good work ethics almost always wins over skill.

Is it just me or have they shown a ton of QB and WR highlights against our DBs?

mitchell was always going to be.a 2nd / 3rd pick. He’ll have a chance to prove himselfMany mock drafts had him ahead of Worthy, I believe. The diabetes and the character issues reported by some scouts probably hurt his stock.

Then there is this tweet below that alludes to Adonai's "football character stuff" causing his draft stock to fall. I had no idea!
-
Are there any off-the-field issues with Adonai? Based on his play, it makes no sense.

Excellent get! 🤘

An insight as to why Joseph and/or Gideon were not replaced after the season?
Seems Sark would have to know they are the weak links on the coaching staff.
My guess would be trying to keep the coaching staff from our first CFP appearance intact and the fact that they are good recruiters, especially TJ. Perhaps they thought we just needed better talent, not coaching?

I mean you say that but Rod Barbers was on the podcast saying the same thing , not that they forgot. But they didn’t put as much emphasis like the dline cause they thought they were better in that area
We don't have a lot of pass heavy offenses on our schedule and the SEC is a LOS league. Thank god we are not playing a QB of Penix's caliber next season. Maybe that's why they emphasized the lines?

I know exactly what the term means. You meant it as a negative because these
kids were not from a P5 school. You still haven't answered my question.
Well, that's because you're an idiot and I can't help you with that.

You're backtracking faster than a Port Lavaca sand crab. You never answered my question about the kid
from Northern Colorado. You probably thought that he was low hanging fruit.
Do you not understand what low hanging fruit means? Google says:
"Low-hanging fruit" is a metaphor that refers to tasks that are easy to accomplish, require minimal effort, and provide immediate rewards.
In business, the phrase is used to describe projects that a team or employee can easily and quickly complete before moving on to more challenging work. For example, a company might identify low-hanging fruit projects that should be a priority, such as high impact, low effort projects."
Yes, I believe we got the low hanging fruits. Feel free to disagree.

Lucky for you, different group. Not that I'd actually dox you, but be careful how you insult people. It could backfire with someone who isn't as nice as I am.
I get along fine with people who matter. I have low tolerance for people who like to argue for the sake of arguing or try to defend the status quo when the status quo is subpar. I just tried to defend my position that you and few others took different from what I intended. You can't make positive change if you're not willing to take risks or be unpopular. Anyway, enough thread derailment and I apologize to other posters for this back and forth.

I'll check in with my friend who directs what is probably the same group. Your random, illogical and confrontational hot takes might be interesting.
My legacy among UT engineering grads is not only beyond solid but is in the process of blowing the roof off Austin startups. Pay close attention to huge international business publications over the next month for a clue.

LMAO. Yeah, I struggle to be successful. Oh how I wish I was UTEE97, a person who routinely brings shame on the UT Cockrell School of Engineering.
I bring so much shame that the dean is pleading to join their innovation center as an advisor. You should quit while you're behind, moron.

You seem like someone who struggles with the definition of "replace". Meditate on that, and write better.
If you struggled to understand the intent of my post, then I have a fairly good idea of how successful you're in life. Stop wasting my time. I don't want to engage with you.
