  1. I feel like our horrible DB tackling hasn't been talked about enough. Time for Akina to hang it up. 3 of our DBs missed tackling on this 55-yard TD pass. https://www.reddit.com/r/FloridaGators/s/eoJUjrGoA0
  2. Wait, what? Sark's offenses at least look dynamic? I am uninstaling chatgpt right now.
  3. We have very little athleticism on the OL. What's the point of getting these large humans who are not agile and can't keep up with a fast and strong DE or LB? It's so easy to get around them or do what Florida did with the simulated pressure that froze our linemen. The film guy is spot on on his criticism of unathletic linemen and Sark's play design. Everyone watching us on offense was probably screaming as to why Arch was holding on to the ball so long. Guess what, our WRs are running long yardage routes that take too long to develop. Nobody is running 5-10 yard routes. Sark's style has been either long bombs every other play or short passes around the line of scrimmage. Very strange!
  4. Jelani McDonald's play/lack of effort was much worse. If we don't give up that 55-yeard TD, we probably walk away a winner yesterday.
  5. The one play where Kobe Black fell down and Jelani McDonald did his best Frankenstein impression trying to tackle their WR should go down in Longhorn history as equally embarrassing as the Crabtree TD play. I thought a Texas team tackling that poorly was behind us.
  6. Flipside is if you lose too many games early in the season, you may end up like a Strong led Texas team that didn't give a shit, as losing becomes a habit.
  7. He would look significantly better if he was not asked to carry the team in his first year as a starter. He was supposed to be a game manager this year, not the savior. How long did it take for Bo Nix, Penix, Burrow to play like they did in their senior year?
  8. Going by memory, I think he was trying to get the ball to Wingo who was in the end zone. Wisner was short of the goalline and there was a DB in between the two guys. He was trying to throw the DB off with the double clutch so that he could throw the ball to Wingo for a surefire TD instead of throwing to Wisner who could have been tackled short of the line. That's my interpretation of what he might have been thinking. I think it's a bit more nuanced than the people who are willing to a write off a QB too early want to give credit for. If everyone wrote off all the talented QBs so early in their career, we wouldn't have the uncle Mannings, Brady, Aikman or any other HOF QBs.
  9. Ffrench was a 5 star most of the recruiting cycle and ended the year just outside. That's why I was counting him as a 5 star. If Lockett is too light to play as a freshman, why did we spend 5 star money on him? We should have allocated more money for RBs and OLs imo. We have taken a bunch of jags in hopes of coaching them up. College recruiting is like NFL drafts now. You don't spend 1st round money on players who are going to sit on the bench while you fill up the positions of need with bread. That kind of roster mismanagement comes home to roost.
  10. This is what happens when you prioritize size over athleticism and talent. Big humans my ass!
  11. A big part of it was Arch looking for the TD play on every down. I don't know if it was the playcall or a young QB not trusting his team's ability to methodically march down the field and score. He was not looking for the intermediate passes at all. If it was Arch, then why didn't his OC talk to him in between the drives?
  12. You can say that again.
  13. I had the same thought. You see freshmen at skill positions shining all around the country except here. I don't know if it's because Sark prefers to play upperclassmen over talented youngsters or his scheme is too hard for the young players to grasp. If you're not going to play them, why spend so much money on them? We have two 5 star WRs who are not seeing the field at all.
  14. Recruiting a guy for size over talent is stupid. You can't teach size but you can't teach talent and athleticism either.
  15. Going after 5 star WRs appears to be waste of money if they are not going to see the field as freshmen. Use that money for a top RB instead who can get immediate playing time.
  16. Sark is too soft to fire his buddies. That's why the likes of Banks, Flood, and Milwee still have jobs. Assistant continuity is overrated. All the great programs have revolving doors at the assistant positions, and they seem to do just fine.
  17. Other than Calvin Banks, who was the top high school OT recruit in his class, which lineman has Flood developed? Sark's tendency to keep the dead weights around will be the downfall of him.
  18. We just gave this fraud a 7-year guaranteed contract, so he is not going anywhere anytime soon. He needs to be a program manager and hire the best assistants money can buy.
  19. Arch was not the reason we lost. He is improving and playing good to great when given time. His development will continue and I expect him to play lights out next year. We have other problems to fix in the meantime. Offensive playcalling, OL and DL play, run game and special teams to name a few.
  20. Throw the fucking ball away!
  21. Pathetic run blocking.
  22. How about we don't lob it out in the middle of the field? How about some go routes?
  23. Players of the game are #4 and #6 on defense.
