This is the only game in Texas’s history where EVERY SINGLE player on the opposing team (that shot the ball at least once) shot AT LEAST 50% or better
holy fuck
But, but that was because of the mess CB left.

Most of us saw this coming other than perhaps 3-4 posters who still keep defending RT and keep finding some silver lining in every chance they get. They were cheering the JAG transfers after RT missed on the priority targets and lost the two 5 stars who lobbied to get him hired. They were telling us how dare we presume to know more about coaching than the current and former players and recruits who were lobbying for RT. Really? Facts and data over emotions, all day.

I disagree with the latter. Texas did not have to hire Terry.
We could have paid the dude a big bonus instead and he would have been hired away by another unfortunate program.

We have played KU tough in recent years, but I am not holding my breath this time. This team, especially Hunter, tends to play with low basketball IQ. If Hunter has a good game, then maybe we keep it close or even win. Really hoping for a good game.

Ole Miss is probably not getting in right now at a 68 NET.
If Texas makes it, the committee will also put Ole Miss in the same bracket. if they are a bubble team.

10 is slightly high for now but super cheap for 2030. I think this is balanced and good.
He will get a raise in a few years if he keeps winning, so I doubt his salary remains at these levels if he is still coaching at Texas in 2030.

For sure. You definitely had pretty low expectations to be fair.
You were questioning if recruits could even understand him when he talked.
I still don't think he is an eloquent speaker. He doesn't have a commanding voice.

Despite this ugly loss, I am not too disappointed by this team and the coaching job RT has done so far. I guess I was expecting it to be a lot worse, so in a strange way, I don't mind this season too much. We are a middling team capable of causing some upsets, and if we get a favorable draw, we might win a game or two in the tourney.

Houston is a terrible matchup for us. We need to recruit more physical players.

The rout is on.
-
Love Disu's game and heart.
-
We are fighting hard but it's hard to play against their suffocating defense. They also seem bigger and more athletic than us at every position.

Unfortunately Penix was on and it didn’t matter that our strength was Sweat/Murphy.
We didn't pressure Penix at all. You would expect a QB of his experience and caliber to be on with virtually no pressure and weak secondary defending the pass catchers.

Hunter is a major liability at this point and he is not showing any sign of improvement. There must be one student on campus who can play better PG than him.

Disu to the rescue.

Ugly game in an ugly court so far.

I mean isn’t he still with Randi?
and it’s affected Chris negatively. He went from living in Austin working at his dream job to playing washers with lane kiffin at some country music bar
texas made out well too. Got rid of the wife beater and have a coach on the cheap. If he doesn’t work out he gone.
I have not seen any reports or any indication from Randi's tweets that she is still with him.
Beard appears to have picked up where he left off at Texas. He is a consummate salesman, so he will be loved by the fans wherever he coaches. He is bringing the same energy at Oxford that made him so popular at Texas, just like he did at tech. Sure it's not the same job with the same perks but it's just a stepping stone to a much bigger job if he can keep his personal life in order.
Texas may have saved some money on the coach's salary but they will lose a lot more in ticket sales, ratings and merchandise revenues, if we can't keep up the same level of performance, so no, Texas didn't make out better.

Seems like CB being an alleged POS and woman abuser has affected his employer and his alleged victim much more than him. His career seems to be back on track whereas we're praying for an unlikely tourney bid and who knows what Ms. Trew is up to. At least we got an E8 out of this whole fiasco.

I think so too. But I believe he wants a bigger job.
Agreed. He may not want it, but Aggy can pony up a lot of money to get him.
-
I believe Aggy will go after him next season. I don't see UK parting with Calipari any time soon unless he is looking for a change of scenery. Just a hunch.

Yes, you caught me. I'm a huge follower of Buzz Williams' Texas A&M basketball, and I'm absolutely furious that Chris Beard is going to cause my team to finish 10th in the SEC, instead of 9th.
When Buzz is fired, it won't shock me if your school went after Beard with broad support from your fans and alumni.

Otherwise known in long term relationships as the "I'm going to grandstand and act like I'm above this argument by opening and shutting exactly one door, knowing it will just piss you off even more because that's funny to me." A classic.
Tell us why you really hate Beard. It's not because of this, is it?
-
Team played hard. We lost because of rebounding and boneheaded play by Hunter.
-
Why are we trying so hard to give the game away?

If you think this year has been bad, wait till next year. It's only going downhill from here.
