Everybody is going to love Austin until he starts putting the ball on the ground like he did a lot in LA and then he won't see the field.

every one of them has a decent shot depending on summer and training camp. it’s like you forget that keeping a few undrafted players every year isn’t a thing. OL can’t make it unless they beat out swing tackle? we’ll keep more than 6 OL.
They keep 7 usually, 5 starters and a backup guard and a swing tackle. Maybe 8 if they also want a dedicated backup center/extra guard. Out of thise spots the swing tackle seems most likely up for grabs from a UFA since we really didnt get one in the draft.
To get a receiver spot going to have to beat out all the guys who were drafted plus the 6th rounder from last year they liked and kept. Very tall order.
Tell me who you drop on the roster for these UFA? Their drafting recently has gotten better than the absolute dog shit it was for years and years so they dont have as much room for UFA as before. Thank god.

Receivers have almost zero shot to make the team. OL zero shot unless they can beat out the swing tackle. CBs and RBs almost zero shot. QB zero shot with the White pick. TE, safety, fullback/Hback maybe

Gotta say, with Dicko and Poona, this draft makes me want to like the Seahawks
Add in Griffin and they got rid of the loudmouth assholes and I'll be pulling for them. Want to see Dickson pinning Keenum's goofy ass inside the 10 all game in week 1 and showing Elway's frustrated fat horse face in the box.

He was suspended by Strong. The next year with a new coach he is kicked off the team supposedly for failing at least 4 in house drug tests.
Getting shut down both your sophomore and junior seasons for disciplinary reasons by two different coaching staffs is a receipe for going undrafted. Tunsil had one picture but was never suspended. Big difference.

Yeah but Switzer wasn’t either and all we had to do was give up a 6th round pick that can catch out of the back field and give us a much better returner. That’s an upgrade regardless of “difference maker”.
And by getting Ward for Switzer that was great since we definitely don’t need Switzer now. I would have maybe liked to see another DT, but we use our early picks for quality guys and I’m sure there will be some UDFA DTs available. To me this is the biggest area of need
You cant be a difference maker if the coaches never play you. Honestly, Switzer could be garbage or he could be thr next great NE shifty receiver with a SB ring on his hand soon. We dont know because we never gave him a chance after blowing a mid round pick on him.
Overall on draft a C+ grade. First two days got 3 guys who look like 2nd round talents so solid B+. Today some redundancy and a really weird trade for Austin who is total garbage. The switzer trade a net neutral since both he and the incoming DT are complete unknowns. D+ grade for Day 3.

They got a good back QB with a strong arm, because you always need a solid backup QB. they got an early playing time TE who could be the starter by next year,Haha ok spit out my drink there.
Really the draft isn't bad overall with the exception of those two redundant picks and that extra receiver, although trading the guy you used a 4th on and never gave a chance to play does remedy the receiver pick a bit. Maybe the 2nd round bust DT coming off foot surgery will pan out though. Maybe
Biggest miss was not taking LB depth with Griffin there and taking a TE that looks like Swaim redux.
Other than that pretty solid looking draft. Really like what Chicago and Seattle did today though a lot better than Dallas.

A team that drafts for back-ups fails. This has been a frustrating draft watching the Cowboys get a thousand WR’s, a QB they didn’t need and a backup RB. You find backups in the open market and on practice squads, not in the draft.
In the 5-7 rounds you really are drafting for depth and sometimes get lucky and hit a starter. Just doesn't make sense to draft 1) guys redundant with cheap depth guys you already have and 2) positions like QB when you have a sub 25 yr old franchise starter and a sub 25 yr old development project that showed promise.
-
Not bad pick. Ultra cheap backup RB who can at least hold the ball and hopefully fall forward for 3.

Austin....
The fumble machine. That's gonna work

What did they get? Wow they must really not like him. Never gave him snaps.
-
Wasted picks. Didn't need a developmental QB because you already have a young one who showed big promise. Didn't need a TE that looks to be the same blocking TE as Swaim, and could have had Griffin there who is extremely fast, tested like a mofo, big time leader, and helps fill out the LB room with speed. Now another receiver when they drafted a 4th rounder last year they never gave snaps to.

First two days were so good, today has been no one cares draft trash day.
We don't know yet if they are trash but 3rd say is where, if you have true knock it out scouts, you build the depth that will allow you to not completely fall apart and miss the playoffs when you lose a couple of players. The cowboys can't seem to get to that level.
-
Damn looks like late rounds trash cowboys drafting still in effect. But who knows, maybe this QB they drafted can really play ball and he'll rise to the level of playing 2nd halves of preseason games and holding a clipboard for a couple of years before getting cut.
-
Good start to the draft. Seems like they got 3 guys witgh 2nd round talent.
-
Prob no Earl unless Seattle gets desperate and takes one of the compensatory 4. They may just not want to pay him.
-
There's the Dez replacement. Nice nice
-
I wish all these guest presenters would say something like "I'd like to thank Jerry Jones for hosting this draft in this stadium that his team can't win in and for playing GM for the last 23 years allowing the rest of us to get all the best talent"

thought the Horns did a good job on him this past year but my sports memory isn't great.
They completely shut that offense down but their own shit offense gave it away

A guy on CBS said the word about him is he's soft. First I've heard someone say that.
Retarded. That comes from the injury this season and not playing the bowl game. When healthy the dude is physical
-
He has the arm length of a guard. That's why he slipped to 50

Dallas's line just got ultra scary. What a luxury to have CW at right tackle.
With this pick I doubt they move Collins back inside after playing him outside all last year. Connor will be LG and that L to R of Tyron, Connor, Frederick, Martin will be fucking nasty.
Seriously, go to much more spread formations to get 6 man boxes and let each of them and Zeke/Dak whip guys one on one.

The guy was a rookie and the player ahead of him at slot receiver was having a horrendous season yet he was never replaced giving Switzer a chance to see what he can do with some consistent snaps. If you won't even see what your player can do when the guy ahead of him is shitting his pants all season then I don't consider that giving him a chance.
The trade was fine because he's redundant now that they got Hearns who can play the slot as well. Just a dumb pick to begin with.
