I was talking about Brady. He was hovering around that 12 to 15 million over the last 10 years which is a lot less than other QBs. They back load his contracts.

Brady has gotten over a 9% cap hit (of total team salary) one time that they won the SB. He is the GOAT but they win so much because they put their money in the right places

Which they wouldn't be able to do if Brady weren't married to one of the richest super models on the planet and was demanding every penny of max money every year like every other QB would.

  2. Same thing happened with me except it was catholics and certain high numbers of priests who like to diddle children while the church leadership whistles past the graveyard pretending their eyes are closed.

Then I spent the next few years intently studying many of the worlds most popular religions and their origins and kept seeing the same types of things no matter the religion.

Finally I came to the conclusion that I do believe there is a creator force or God that orchestrated all we see around us, but there's no credible evidence to suggest that force cares what we do or let primitive man 2000 years ago know what he wants for us to do. It seems to be a very human characteristic to want to tell everyone else what to do.

All these crazy WR contracts are why I don't think there's a need to cut Dez right now. His pay isn't crazy anymore compared to some of these contracts.

I agree unless one of the these two conditions exists: Dez really is a much bigger asshole and giant distraction than the Cowboys have ever let on, or they're actually going to do something with that 8 to 9 million they save this year.

Yes, you're probably right..... I have questions about Jackson's ability to succeed on this level.  But really I don't think we're in the market for a QB in the 1st round so I think it's a non-starter.  We haven't had him in for a visit.  In fact, we really haven't had any QB that has been reported in for a visit except for Kenny Hill, who came in on his own.

Moving on, for those that wanted Jarvis Landry..... Uhm, yea.

There's no way this organization thinks outside the box enough to take him, but if there was a place in the league he could succeed it would be a place with a top level OL and a top 2-3 RB.

That level of money for receivers is stupid. Of course it's the Browns.

  5. I disagree only from the standpoint that a pick of Jackson immediately upgrades your backup QB spot and he has 2 years to sit behind Dak and learn. If Dak falters then you still have 3 more years of Jackson at cheap money after that and you can cut Dak loose. If Dak shows he can be the guy then you have a valuable trade chip if Jackson shows anything at all during preseason and any time he plays.

I only do this if a potentially dominant DL like Vea or Smith from Georgia doesn't make it there. I'd rather use 19 on a potential QB playmaker than a receiver, another OL, or a reach.

LOL..... you go on with your draft and hopefully draft a playmaker on defense..... We're not drafting Lamar Jackson, nor should we.

I Thu k you seriously discount Jackson's ability. Much better ability throwing the ball already than Vick ever had, and by all accounts he works hard to improve and is coachable unlike Vick who coasted on pure athletic ability. Vick even said he thinks Jackson is more dynamic with the ball than he was at the same age.

I don't know id I do it but it's not a crazy idea. We dont know if Dak can be anything more than a solid game manager and paying a game manager 25+ million a year would be a disaster.

Jackson has the potential to be more than that. Might be worth a 19 to find out.

  7. Question to ponder: what do you do if it gets to pick 19 and Lamar Jackson is still there? You have 2 more years of Dak before you have to pay him but was he a product of that great line and running game in 2016? Jackson has similar accuracy issues as Dak but is so much more dynamic with the ball in his hands that he would be a great fit for the type of offense they've built here around high priced OL and RB. That type of offense with Jackson also wouldn't need high priced receivers as just guys who can run quality routes and get open on QB scrambles would work best.

Is that gamble worth the opportunity cost?

  8. Considering they're destined to blow that 2nd rounder on Joe Fuckup or some injury prone chode anyway then why not.

What moves would they need to make to get that contract under salary cap? That's only a move you make if you feel you are one solid free safety away from a SB run level defense and you can fit it under the cap without gutting your team. I dont think they can but I'm not sure about that.

Atlanta should have won the super bowl 2 years ago with a high priced WR and QB, the cap didn't make them blow the 28-3 lead.

Yeah, but they didnt and they returned that same crew this year and couldn't score in the playoffs against a team their defense was owning.

When was the last time in the salary cap era a team won a super bowl while having a high priced receiver?

Don't know that off the top of my head but I know Peyton was the only high priced QB to win it in a pretty large period. Teams don't typically win SBs if they overpay QB/RB/WR these days

Im pretty sure Rothlisberger, Rodgers, Brees, and Brady were pretty high priced. Brady on the lower spectrum but definitely over 10 a year.

What's your definition of "high-priced"? For comparison, Alshon Jeffrey was earning an average of $13 million a year this past season with the eagles, which put him in the top 10 among all receivers.

That's borderline. I was thinking top 5 to top 10 in the league... defintely Dez range.

Before that it was probably a while. Maybe Marvin Harrison in 2007? Just seems like paying a lot of money for anything other than OL, DL, and DB doesn't lead to many championships.

Then take into account when that high priced receiver is a one trick pony who has seemingly lost that trick due to age and yet, according to Stephen Jones, is also a distraction with his antics. I think I'm firmly in the cut Dez now camp.

Oh by the way for the Trumpkins and Fox news watchers this is the guy leading the investigation. He also donated $5,400 to Trump campaign. I say it because I watched Laura Ingram last night and this was not mentioned and Trump implied he was a democrat.

Of course Trump will lie about this. I bet this guy really didnt want to follow up on this but the evidence was overwhelming coming from Mueller that he had no choice.

If Joe Pa was given a raw deal, it was of his own volition.  It still doesn't resonate with me why he didn't react more swiftly and with resolve. Was he scared his failure to act in 1998 would sully his legacy? Was it money? Was it bigger than that, with Sandusky holding something over his heAd? I get the SMUs, aggy, and Dickerson TransAm stories. Greed makes sense.  I even get the Patino 'sex em up' philosophy, consenting adults and all; NCAA regulations be damned. However, I cannot reconcile what 'win' was for Joe Pa to look the other way or be so cavalier about Sandusky. You're worried about ruining someone's weekend or even beating Nebraska...while little boys got raped.

    It doesnt add up.

Not to cloak room but think about the current climate of politics and what people will rationalize when team over all else mentality takes over.
