Just purchased 10 lovely nights at an Air B&B in lovely Odesa, Ukraine.  I hear the beaches are beautiful this time of year.  My host Наталья seems like a real nice lady with a spare room.

I just did a drive by on Google Maps and saw this nice lady out front, so there is that going for it.  The front of her shirt says "What if" and I would like to imagine that the back says "you go fuck yourself".

  2. Remember when 60 minutes ran a story about the Selma-Schertz speed trap on 35. I think the feds basically shut it down by saying that local municipalities couldn’t write tickets on interstate highway. Texas Monthly has a story on it too called “The Perfect Speed Trap” if you want to read more about it.

  3. I bought a 2020 Ram 1500 Lonestar for around 8% under MSRP this week, so I think the market might be loosening up a little. Only got $3k for a 2005 F150 XLT which I probably could of gotten $5k for privately, so who knows. I put about $10 k down a took advantage of 0% financing on a 4 year note. Seemed like a square deal — all things considered. One thing I do know is that I’m enjoying all that new technology that’s in my new truck over that 2005.

  4. Bottlerocket: That looks really good and is something I'll be looking, perhaps next year. Same awful gravel you had...
What is the material or process that you had done? Did a pool company or someone else do it? Warranty?

The company that did it was Texas Premier Coat

You can see the process at their website: Www.texaspremiercoat.com

They were awesome to deal with and delivered more than they promised. I had a couple of lower bids but they were for a single color with no pattern.

The guy that did the actual work was an artist and worked his ass off to deliver the best end product.

    Owner: Brett
    Installer: Junior.
  5. I’ve been considering buying a used truck but the pricing is so ridiculous that now I’m considering buying new. I found a dealer in Austin that is selling Ram 1500s 10% below MSRP. That seems to be about the best out there now. Does this sound reasonable or should I continue to wait? I’m driving a 2005 F150 now so trade in value isn’t really part of the equation. They offered me about $4500 on that.

  6. I’ve had this happen. I kneeled on concrete and sort of felt the flesh at my kneecap ‘swish’ a little. For several months it hurt like a skinned elbow or knee would hurt like road rash. Except that there wasn’t any visible damage to the skin. Just rubbing the skin on sheets or washing it in the shower hurt like hell. It went away after 3 or 4 months.

  7. We live in north Austin, two exits south of round rock. My wife just started a job in del Valle. She takes 183 and hops off at Loyola then jumps back on right before the bridge to avoid the tolls. Takes her 30 minutes to get to DV. Free flowing traffic all the way, that new 183 is pretty great.

    … for now.
  8. The Bryan Museum in Galveston has a great hand-crafted diorama with 2000 soldiers depicting the Battle of San Jacinto.   The museum sells these figures in the gift shop and I invested in three dead Mexicans.  Or two dead and one resting Mexican.  Or three drunk Mexicans.  I don't really know what I bought but the sales lady was a little distressed that this is what I chose to buy instead of a lovely Sam Houston or ROT infantrymen.
