I was sitting in a bar in Oklahoma City. Minding my own business. Guy to the right of me was having an intense conversation with a buddy about Johnny Manziel being the best quarterback in college football history. I look over, he’s got his Aggie ring on. A&M polo. I have no dog in the fight, I went to a small college with no football. As I walked out, in passing, said “Johnny couldn’t hold Vince Young’s jock”. He gets furious and yells “get out of here you Sip!”. I reply “congrats on your upcoming 8-4” and walk out. So, I guess I was an honorary Texas fan yesterday. I don’t know how you deal with that cult all year round.

One of the side effects of completely lacking self awareness is an inability to ignore comments from others. They have no ability to recognize when they are being baited and they react every single time. Every. Single. Time.

WTF, the clown author is a UT grad. Half his Texas Monthly articles are anti Hohn hatchet jobs. Weird.

You must not know much about Richard Justice.

Mentally, aggys are children. They have an insatiable need for validation and affirmation. They need to be constantly told "the Aggies appear to be on the verge of winning or contending for national championships in every major sport."

Just like King Gill wasn't the only substitute on the sideline, the fact that A&M is actually a branch of UT, the scaling of the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc was no amazing feat in itself, the Corps of Cadets is a costume clad civilian fraternity with no association whatsoever with the U.S. military, Sul Ross was in fact a virulent white supremacist, and no there weren't cars on the A&M campus in 1862, truth eludes aggys.

Journalism jobs are tough to come by these days. Writers such as Justice hold their nose, pat the aggys on the head, tell them they are "on the precipice" and collect their paychecks twice a month.

It's how things work in Texas.

Maybe we can get Russia to attack them.

Better yet, why don't we just call them out ourselves for their sacred shrine to their beloved white supremacist. Those who care about right and wrong don't need to outsource anything to the Russians.

Do I really need to start posting the screen grabs of all their disgusting racial hatred stuff?

    Or their death threats?

They are a sick culture and to say Texags doesn't perpetuate hatred is naive.

Gabe Bock and Billy Liucci absolutely deserve to be called out for providing a platform for white supremacist hate groups to spew their vile garbage.

Did I see in another thread that they’re in a tough spot with the AAU as well?

I think A&M's AAU problems were more related to their announcements of having solved the mystery of alchemy and perfected cold fusion. No respectable accreditation organization is going to keep looking askance at crackpot crap forever.

The current issues at A&M have more to do with The Rudder Association trying to ensure long-discredited racist practices be revived at Texas A&M. TRA is essentially waging a culture war at A&M and pushing back on intellectual thought. They are trying to insist the A&M students be indoctrinated into the belief that whites are "being outbred" by brown people and "the American way" is at risk of being overrun. To this end, The Rudder Association is trying to shut down the student paper, do away with school libraries, make the corps of cadets more of a force on campus and other insidious ideas.

Unfortunately, Gabe and Billy have found it financially beneficial to provide a forum for those promoting The Rudder Association, and other white supremacist groups, and to helped them recruit, organize, and prosper. I'm not sure that was Congress' intent when they passed the PPP program into law, but that seems to be what happened over at Texags.

Was drinking at a friend's place last night, and he also had an aggy friend over.   Things I 'learned':

    1. "A&M would curbstomp Texas if they played right now."  (I mentioned that UT has had a rough decade, but we played Arkansas about as close as they (ATM) did just last year...)

    2. "Texas needs to see how many classes like this (2023) they can pull in before they move to the SEC.  They'll need at least 3 this good in a row to have a chance to compete.  That's why Texas and OU are delaying the move as long as they can."  (I mentioned their best year was their first in the SEC, and he said that was "only because of Jonny...and Arch isn't Jonny.")

    3. "Texas fans have unreasonable expectations, and Sark will be fired when they can't win a game in year one in the SEC...if he's even around that long."  (I agreed that, if our coach can't win a game in any year, he'd be fired...and that didn't seem unreasonable to me.)

When aggy actually manages to put back-to-back seasons together with a winning record in conference play, I will begin to believe that their program is improving. Other than that, I don't care when any aggy bleats about "aggy greatness."

Texas' problems are well defined - we have the wrong people making hiring decisions at the highest levels of the program. We seem to have things sorted out as far as the AD is concerned. Most of the programs are in good health. As for football, time will tell. We seem to be making better decisions, but we have little evidence football has been sorted out. Hopefully we will have a better handle on the situation with the football program after this season.

drive-by post to the college football world: blame aggy for the pac disintegration

in '91, they had a cow and torpedoed a move west.  we were taking them with us.  the rest of the swc didn't have a say in this and knew nothing about it

pig is still gone to the sec, and the big 8 and swc still merge, but the pac is solid for a century

    but no

    flash forward 15 years

we try to get byrne to share a conference network with us

    no

    not having it

instead aggy start squealing about standing offers and sitting this and sitting that TWO YEARS before ralph leaves in a 36-hour decision window to make sure rapelor doesn't take their place in a potential move west

this triggers dr. tom to erect his micropeen and lie lie lie about ejecting corn (who are now actually a winner in all of this after all - they get to play in LA every year)

    boom, no move west

aggy then steals the orphan 5 payouts on the way out door shitting on us by projecting their own bitchassedness for attempting to destroy the conference on the way out

disney bribes us to stay with 300m and the LHN

    fine

okay, time for another try to go west

oops, what's that larry scott?  you spend $10m a year on an office in the city but you can't buy out the LHN deal?

i still maintain that the Texas, 0u, tech, osu, az, asu, ucla & usc would have been the best division in college football

we tried to go west 3 times, and aggy fucked it up each time

to the rest of the college football world, and especially the fanbases of arizona, washington and utah, you should boycott aggy for the remainder of the millenium, because they did this to you

texas & 0u in the pac and thing play out much differently

As Paul Finebaum explains, Texas was in the SEC in 1991, instead of Arky. Then A&M went apeshit, claiming it was unconscionable For Texas to make the move without also negotiating the same deal for A&M.

From that time on, whenever Deloss negotiated any possible for Texas, he made sure the deal also included A&M.

Deloss negotiated a deal for Texas to go to the PAC. And A&M went apeshit that Texas would negotiate any deal that would also include A&M.

I continue to believe the Constitutional status of A&M as a branch of UT Austin needs to be terminated and the two schools formally recognize an end to joint cooperation on anything other than purely academic matters as set forth by the THECB.

The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.

    https://www.al.com/press-register-sports/2010/04/finebaum_how_texas_nearly_join.html

"In a recent interview, Schiller reflected back on how Arkansas and South Carolina became the 11th and 12th schools in the league. But the most shocking revelation concerned how close the University of Texas came to joining the SEC.

"The one that made the most sense was Texas," Schiller said. "I spent some time with DeLoss Dodds (the Texas athletic director) and he really wanted to join the conference." Done deal. Everything agreed to but the name on the dotted line. Then, it all came apart.

"The state legislature (in Texas) somehow got wind of it through Texas A&M and said we had to bring in both schools or we couldn't take Texas," Schiller said.

The SEC didn't want A&M. Ultimately, the two Texas schools would leave the Southwest Conference and join the Big 12."

Hoping there were occupancy issues… if not, holy fuck did they shit the bed underwriting this bitch.

I need to go back and check, but I think this might be one of those vaunted aggy "private-public partnerships." You know, the kind that demonstrate "aggy brilliance" when they do them for campus hotels, student housing, and vaccine labs, but an unquestioned sign of extreme financial distress when UT Austin does one for their basketball and special events center.

As an Alabama fan, all that matters is that Saban called A&M out for buying a recruiting class. Jimbo shows his ass like a retard monkey. And now he is recording buying recruits.

    High comedy.

You must be new at following the aggys. Never will you find a group that acts quicker when given a chance to shoot themselves in the foot. And they learn nothing from past experience.

  9. The ags routinely mock Liberal Arts subjects, as they don't consider any Liberal Arts discipline as legitimate as "hard science." Hard science for the ags, includes such rigorous STEM disciplines as chicken farming, park ranger studies, and agricultural leadership.

So now UCLA and USC want to move from the Pac 12 to the Big 10. And the ags are performing all sorts of "economic evaluations" of possible conference alignment scenarios. Based on their deep understanding of economics.

    Pure comedy gold.

The only thing better than watching an aggy do an analysis of media rights of various programs is the ags opining on what is best for Stanford and Cal. Because, of course, neither Stanford or Cal knows where to find anyone capable of performing aggy-level economic and financial analysis of their athletics programs.

aggys seem to forget their impressive understanding of economics and finance resulted in their having conducted a $4B capital campaign and after the money was received, the institution's net financial position was less than it was before they started. Seriously, aggys - how can you raise $4B in donations and have less wealth than when you started? $4B vaporized in previously unrecognized liabilities.

And based on that track record, they presume to advise to the Stanford and Cal people on financial and economic matters.

    Pure comedy gold.

The last time A&M won 10 games in a single season was . . . 10 years ago.  I'm pretty sure it's a reasonable perspective at this point.

The last time A&M football won 10 games in a season was 10 years ago. And it took having 2 FCS games on their schedule that year to make that 10 win season happen.

10 wins over FBS teams? Not something Texas A&M has shown much of an ability to make happen.

Much like posting a winning record in conference play in two consecutive years. They are looking at a quarter century since that lofty ambition  was achieved.

Not truly competitive in conference play for going on a quarter century, or 16 losing seasons in 17 years. Which is more embarrassing aggy?

  11. The most likely outcome of today’s news is an NCAA conference will be held between school presidents and a new structure developed where schools are in different conferences for different sports. Vandy should be in the SEC for baseball, but not football. Kansas in a major conference for MBB but not some other sports, etc. Conferences were established along geographic considerations. Now the sports programs will find a new structure based on economics.

So Archie "commandeered" the Saints?  Was he ever arrested for this theft?

    So much aggy butthurt . . .

    "for his whole career."

Archie manning played for three NFL teams, not just one. One of those teams was the Houston Oilers.

But, to this aggy's credit, I have no doubt he "clearly remembers" history as Archie Manning only having played for the Saints.

aggys "clearly remembering" history (as the Auburn fan found out) is akin to aggys giving directions from the parking lot to the stadium - give them a half dozen tries and they are no closer to the correct answer than when you first asked the question.

And evidently a little racist fucker, also. I still can't believe he doesn't have a problem with his social media platform being used to perpetuate blatant racism.

  15. I’m Small aggy minds can’t contemplate that people can see through their lies in an instant.

This asshole clearly remembers, but can’t cite even one example by giving the year and the sizes of the recruiting classes. The guy is a lying sack of shit.

Since 1982 the sips are up one game according to a quick look. They had a huge recruiting advantage over the past 100 plus years but that is ok, we played our best. Taking into consideration the war years it may have had an effect as well. What I clearly remember is how the sips and the land thieved would offer every player possible a scholarship then dumped most of them in their sophomore year. Royal was famous for that. They had an advantage in recruiting and they capitalized on that. Once the NCAA placed rules in effect it leveled the playing field.”

that point #3 is super yikes.

Surprisingly, Texas A&M being located in "the armpit of Texas" doesn't impress those of Mexican heritage.

What aggys don't realize is that not being Texas A&M gives The University of Texas a strong regional advantage from the start. Since A&M was founded, it has been looked down on by Texans (even white people) because it was forced upon the state by the Reconstructionist legislature and wasn't, as was the namesake The University of Texas, "of, by, and for the people of Texas."

That most Texans didn't want A&M, tried to do away with A&M, refused to fund A&M, refused to terminate A&M's status as a branch of UT because it meant additional taxes to fund an independent A&M, and have continuously considered A&M a lesser institution, is something the aggys conveniently leave out of Fish Camp.
