Grad Transfer Offensive Tackle Visiting Texas
    – Charlie S

*** Another name to know is Virginia Grad Transfer RJ Proctor. I touched base with Proctor a little while ago and he let me know that he will be officially visiting Texas on February 16th.

Proctor (6’4/335) saw the field for all 13 of UVA’s games during the 2018 season. He started five of those, three at right guard, two at left guard. The versatile lineman will be eligible to play immediately in 2019 as a graduate transfer.

Proctor plans on visiting Ohio State, Florida State, OU, and Texas. He is also in the process of trying to narrow down his final official visit.

Texas will get their shot here in a few weeks.

    Official Visitors This Weekend
    – Charlie S

Quick note on a pair of official visitors this week:

*** 2019 offensive tackle commit Javonne Shepherd (Houston, TX) will be in Austin. This is huge for Texas as he is coming off a visit to College Sation and Texas A&M.

We know a lot of people think A&M is likely to flip Shepherd, but at this point, we do not share that sentiment and we feel Texas holds onto him.

Obviously, if anything changes our opinion, we will keep you updated.

*** Dodge City C.C. inside linebacker Lakia Henry is also scheduled to take his official visit to Texas this weekend.

Texas is hoping to seal the deal and take his commitment and we feel there is a solid chance that could happen. We will catch up with Lakia prior to his visit.

TFB hasn't wavered on JS sticking to his commitment

Evans might come to Texas, but he might wind up in a number of places. Do you just go all-in on him and say "fuck it" and jump out of that plane without a parachute, hoping to connect with him on the way down? Or do you get aggressive with McGowan or Robinson and see if you can't get someone to say "yes" now and then let the chips fall where they may on everything else? I don't know, and the answers on this aren't obvious.

I believe you have to, and if you do jump out of the plane the parachute of the transfer portal will be there to help find a stop gap that can help Ingram in his Junior season.  Evans is a top priority not just because he's a stud, but getting him signals that Texas is indeed back with the elites.  Can't let the best player in the country leave Texas.

He’s upset because  his ranking is Texas kids only ( and former Texas kids that leave the state but commit to aggy), and he cant manipulate it to account for all of the great out of state players in this Texas class.

He’s accustomed to all of our recruits except one or two being from Texas, so he could move them down or leave them off the list.

Theres nothing he can do with warren, brown, Watson, Smith, McCoy or adimora except scream that the national rankings are wrong.

I can't wait for Owens to perform well on the field, he's the kid they are bashing no matter if they preface it with "I have nothing against the kid.."

Think I’ll subscribe to Liucci’s top 44 now since he’s so objective when it comes to rankings.

You mean the same list which he had Leon O'Neal ranked higher than Overshown and Sterns? I'm with that ..

  5. I feel bad for some of these families who don't have the recruiting background of the Surly $9.95ers.  I can see parents shelling out money if they feel that their son can get a guaranteed spot on the Texas Football roster via PWO.  Isn't there a little financial incentive as a PWO (5% tuition discount?)
