World Record Orgy Location Moved After Las Vegas Hotel Pulls Out

    Quote
    • The quest to break the Guinness Record for the world’s largest orgy is still plowing ahead, despite the original venue for the event getting cold feet.

Sin City 8 is less than two weeks away from attempting to break the record, currently held by Japan, of 500 people simultaneously having sex.  The attempt is part of a gigantic sex-filled weekend that was set to take place at the Embassy Suites in Las Vegas, but apparently the hotel didn’t know what they were getting themselves into when the weekend was originally booked and have since bailed.

Unfortunately Sin City 8 had already sold a ton of tickets, which included guests staying at the hotel, and the promoters were not going to throw their patrons out (naked) in the street.

The management at the Embassy Suites Las Vegas tells The Blast, “We have reached an agreement with the group. Guests of the group are welcome to stay at our hotel but no events of any kind associated with Sin City 8 will take place at the Embassy Suites.”

They continue, “When we became fully aware of the nature of the functions intended to be held at the hotel, we advised the group that the events were not consistent with the standards and environment we support and consequently will not be permitted to take place at our property.”

Luckily, organizers were able to scramble and find a suitable venue for the parties and the world record breaking attempt.  We’re told the parties and vendors for Sin City 8 will now be hosted at The Artisan Hotel, and the orgy will take place at the Erotic Heritage Museum.

We’re told free shuttles will be available to take the guests back and forth between the parties and hotel.

The Erotic Heritage Museum is a 24,000 sq ft building dedicated to the history of erotica and houses educational, performance and exhibit space.

We’re guessing this falls under the “performance” category, and should be the perfect setting for America to claim the world record.

    "plowing ahead"...fucking dork.

I live off Chapel and Hewitt Drive is already an annoyance and they keep on building. I need to look into downtown before it becomes unreasonable.

if i don't remain on the lake, that's where i'm probably headed.

I've been watching construction of Milo All Day every time we've visited Alpha Omega. I need to get over there soon and try it out. Guess used to show up at Bare Arms (not a bad brewery) which made for a kickass combination. Is there an eta on the brick and mortar?

i hear early this fall.  DV put them in the top 50...rightfully so.  they also own Koko Ramen and have a truck behind the Dancing Bear.  Reid sends over rib meat, brisket and pork to use in the ramen.  makes for an unbelievable tonkatsu.

Barnette's prix fixe Friday menu with guest chefs has been on point lately, too.

  4. i char the shit outta of some tomatoes, jalapenos, arbol chilis and yellow onions on either a grill or in my black iron skillet.  whether they get peeled or not depends on my mood.

anyway, they get added to a blender with a shit ton of cilantro, some cumin, Mexican oregano, red wine vinegar, juice of one lime, olive oil for shine and sea salt to taste.  pulse it until it has the right consistency for you and you're done.

if you want a sweeter salsa, add a can of San Marzano tomatoes.

It's going to be impressive when BU has 55,000 fans with a capacity of 45,140 coming off of a 1-11 season where BU averaged 43,840.

Seriously, Waco has seen a RELATIVELY huge uptick in tourism with all this Chip and JoAnna crap. There has been some positives off that though with the zoo seeing Spring Break attendance up 28% on 2017 and there are enough people visiting to keep Balcones touring and tasting downtown, support 3 new local breweries, and countless new restaurants and businesses making downtown its most prosperous since the tornado.

Of course every time I get a bit proud of the progress we see something like the last 3 or 4 Saturdays where people are waiting an hour and a half to eat at Los Cucos. We'll see if we can sustain ourselves after the inevitable decline in popularity of the Fixer Upper Tourists.

fuck that...that's what happens on that side of town.  we had reservations at Milo All Day.

it's legit.  Cory did it right.

but i'm most looking forward to Guess Family BBQ and their side business Koko Ramen to brick and mortar this fall.

I don't think having a smaller government keeps this stuff from happening in the first place, it just changes how it happens. While Ghost of LL has made some very good posts, I think he's a bit off in his take on the robber barons' opposition to using government to enrich themselves. There wasn't as much use of the government for self-enrichment because there was much less government, so less need to do so. When there's no regulatory system to speak of, you don't need to capture that system to enrich yourself. You just do your dirty work directly. But they had no problem using the government when it benefited them. Just look at their history of hiring police and even enlisting the aid of the US Army as strikebreakers.

There have always been people who want everything and will do anything to get it. How they obtain everything they get their hands on may vary based on their environments, but at the end of the day their only goal is more. However, I do think Ghost of LL is right that that sense of noblesse oblige some of them had is now mostly gone, and the hatred for the poor is new (most robber barons probably used to essentially ignore the poor until they went to church on Sundays and were reminded that the people they were crushing were actually people like them). I'm not fully sure what explains that, but I think the writings of Ayn Rand certainly contributed.

you think these fuckers read Ayn Rand?

you think these fuckers read anything important at all?  not that Rand is anything remotely important.

no...this is sheer avarice; instinctual and a some of it retributive due to the false Obama narrative.

simply put, they're getting while the getting is good.

    I don't think I agree with this.

I say this as a former conservative myself--and I say "former" only because I don't think conservatism in any coherent form exists anymore--conservatives never adhered to the nihilism that  distinguishes Trumpism.  And I think it is rooted in the newfound and astonishing rapaciousness of many of the very rich in this country.  That's a new development; it's a characteristic unique to the baby-boomer generation.  This concept of "I'm going to get everything I can and fuck everyone else"--we haven't seen that before.

It used to be that there was a sense of noblesse oblige among the insanely rich.  Sure--to some degree it was patronizing and patriarchal.  But at the same time, it resulted in private philanthropy that built hospitals and schools.  It resulted in a governmental structure that funded the government from the people with sufficient funds for the purpose.  There's still some of that around with people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, but they're outnumbered now by the likes of the Mercers and most of the Waltons.

And I'm not going to tell you that it was purely a noblesse oblige brought of altruism.  It came from a peculiarly American idea that people of merit could rise above the station of their birth through talent and hard work.  And that through the rise of such people, the entire society is benefited--especially the rich who might benefit from their talent and hard work in the course of their rise.

That sense informed conservatism for more than a century.  Conservatives supported policies that encouraged work and furthered a meritocracy, and they disapproved of policies that disincentivized work (e.g., certain welfare programs) and undermined merit-based advancement (e.g., certain affirmative-action programs).  Yeah--there was the support of "liberty" that is peculiar to that class that has the time and money to enjoy the fruits of "liberty" if the government would just ignore your eccentric behavior.  And yeah--there was a loathing of anything that had the whiff of socialism.  But there was also a recognition that society had to be governed by certain norms, and that the poor needed a hand up from the government in order to be in a position to advance (though programs such as public education).

What's unique and different about Trumpism is that all of that is gone.  It has been replaced with a morality of absolute solipsism among our upper class.  Steal everything you can now before you die, because who cares what happens after that?  And to get away with that, they have imbued the society with a sort of nihilism that tells people that nothing is really true; nothing is really right; nothing is really false; nothing is really wrong; nothing is really real.

And ultimately, there is a real and abiding loathing of the poor.  Real, deep-seeded hatred.  I don't get it.  I'll never understand it.  But it's there.

And somehow, notwithstanding that, they've gotten people who they would regard as "poor" to adopt their nihilism, to their own detriment.  So yeah--cancel all the programs that keep you from crippling poverty, all so that a rich guy in Manhattan can have a few million more.  And don't worry about the debt--that rich guy will be dead long before it's a real problem.

Yeah--none of that is consistent with conservatism; at least not the conservatism I grew up with under Reagan and Bush.  It's more the conservatism of the early 20th Century Russian aristocracy.

And the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
    To mold a new reality
    Closer to the heart
