24 teams participate in the FCS championship playoff bracket. North Dakota State has won 9 of the last 11 titles. Sam Houston State, James Madison and North Dakota State have combined for 15 appearances in the last 11 title games.
Obviously the format needs to be changed

Went in the Marine Corps in June of 89.
That SAT/ACT comparison would be high comedy. LOL
I joined the USAF in '99. We both picked the right time to join, if hot sand is your thing. 😄
I scored great on the ASVAB and AFOQT, and much like my SAT scores, no one ever cared

How about don't be a piece of shit attacking a player's character on a message board while offering zero proof of the claims you're making.
What kind of soulless cunt does shit like that? I guess the same kind that excuses that behavior as well.
I was pointing out a truth, and this response is as entitled as the one I responded to. Demanding to see receipts on a message board is silly. You look for corroboration.
I suppose even having to explain this means it's pointless to try.

Oh, FFS. Unless you people name your mysterious sources...
Right. People's loyalties should always lie with anonymous message board nincompoops and not with their friends and family who tell them things in confidence and who would be embarrassed or suffer professionally if someone betrayed that confidence.
Get over yourself.

LOL the opposite revisionist history has happened in the OU-media-echo-chamber/social media.
Since he left, the narrative has gone something like this:
1. OMG Riley left!? He was a great coach but is obviously a piece of shit.
2. Now that I think about it, Riley may not have been as great as we thought.
3. Now that I think about it some more, Riley was complete and utter garbage and the program was quite obviously completely falling apart. I mean, he couldn't even win a 5th straight Big 12 title or make the CFP for the 4th time in 5 years. The program was obviously about ready to implode.
4. Riley was definitely an awful coach who had no idea what he was doing and we are lucky he left.
5. Brent Venables is obviously 20x better than Riley and we are ready to dominate the SEC.
Recently I've been hearing that Riley actually began tanking in mid-season because he knew he was going to be leaving.
And considering Venables' ignominious exit in '11 after being replaced by Mike Stoops, I've been amused at how the Sooners have been swooning over that hire.

Who gives a fuck if it was an athlete's Johnson or that of a Frat Boy? There was plenty of covering up that happened re: my cousin -- our Title IX is a total piece of shit. Who is covering up what?
Are you also suggesting that there is no athlete SA at UT? I saw a lot of that when I was there In the 1990's. Fuck you. You don't know what you are talking about.
Ease back on the throttle, boss. We all know rape happens and how notoriously frustrating it can be to get justice for the victims and punish wrongdoers.
The Baylor rape scandal was something else. It has its own Wikipedia page.

This has been a really good game. Utah using TE's and Rising's mobility to do work, but ultimately Ohio State's big plays through the air were too much.

If we look at every game won/lost by 8+ points, our last 3 coaches stack up like this:
Strong - 11 wins, 12 losses in 3 years
Herman - 18 wins, 5 losses in 4 years
Sark - 3 wins, 4 losses in 1 year
Statistically, and by almost any metric, Herman is the best coach (to date) of our last 3, and *he's* the one you reserve your anger for? Move on.Because his attitude, the way he treated players and staff, his perceived disdain for the fans, his inability to win the B12, his I love you kisses to his players, his arrogance, his always thinking he is the smartest guy in the room, his inability to recruit, his mismanagement of his roster, his poor decision making during critical moments, his collapse under pressure
Fair enough. By your comment I thought you were talking about tangibles like stats.
Interesting to note, our total PF/PA since 2014:
2014: 278-280
2015: 317-364
2016: 383-378
-----
2017: 383-276
2018: 435-362
2019: 458-357
2020: 427-285
-----
2021: 413-373 -
Great score, but lots of time!

Ohio State with those PI's keeping UU in it. If they score, you gotta go for 2 right?

why the fuck are you making the number 8 points and not 9?
8 points is a 1 score game.
Herman had 27 games where he won or lost by 8 points. your numbers would exclude the 2020 okie game which went into 4 OTs. that was by every definition a close game.
1 score games for Herman. by year
2017 5 games 1-4
2018 10 games 6-4
2019 6 games 3-3
2020 6 games 3-3
He was 13-14 in those games. HE ONLY COACHED 50 GAMES! BTW- thats 50 games not 49 per your count.
Meaning in 54% of his games it ended within 1 score.
So my point was that Herman is the best coach of our last 3 to date. I don't see how anything you're saying contradicts that. Were Strong or Sark better in close games, or are you just niggling?
I have Sark at 2-5 and Strong at 6-10 in one-score games using your metrics. Still not better?

Utah has 205 rush yards, 99 by Rising.
Ohio State has 67 total

are you fucking drunk
where in the holy fuck are you getting the Herman numbers.
there were 27 fucking games where we had a 1 score game. Herman went 13-14 in those.
I double checked and my numbers were a little off, so here are the stats:
Wins/losses by 8+ points:
Strong: 10-11
Herman: 18-6
Sark: 3-4Wins/losses by 7 or fewer points:
Strong: 6-10
Herman: 13-12
Sark: 2-3So back to my point, Herman is clearly the better coach by whatever metric you want to use. More big wins, fewer big losses, winning records, etc. Save your anger for coaches that deserve it more.

In a perfect world, we’d make CFB a real sport among 64 teams in 4 conferences. Then you’d have 4 conf champs in playoffs.
You make some good points but we've seen the conference champ thing before with the BCS. It routinely gave us a 3, 4, or even 5 loss team in a major bowl that they only earned by winning an easy division and an upset in the CCG. That 8-5 UConn team in the Fiesta was maybe the worst.

Rising finished the half with 92 rush yards.

Utah winning with Rising's legs and TE play
