  1. Celeste Taylor is also a rookie on the Fever, she played ball at Texas, but left. One of my favorite players, I hope she gets some burn, seems really talented and a great young lady. Clark best not quit her day job.
  2. This may be true but I don't see it in the interviews. Mitchell and her seem tight. "On Wednesday, the Fever secured an 88-81 victory over the Washington Mystics. Following the game, Clark faced the media, who questioned her about improving her “off-target passes” moving forward. Before she could respond, Aliyah Boston intervened to defend her teammate. “It’s okay. It’s alright. It’s alright,” Clark’s teammate said to her. “Don’t worry, because you look at Caitlin and you look at the way she passes the ball and so sometimes things are going to happen that way and that’s okay because we’re not going to let her hang her head. “We’re not going to hang our head off of any missed passes because we’re still continuing to gel together and we know that she’s a great passer, so if she thinks she can get that ball there, she’s going to throw it. And if I miss it, then it’s we’re good. We’re alright. Don’t worry. We’re good.”
  3. Caitlin Clark on if she wished she would have taken more shots late: “I mean, sure, you can wish it. I’m sure there was an opportunity or two for me to probably attempt another shot there at the end, but I trust my teammates… I’m gonna give them the ball every time.” Seems to me that Clark is passing up shots to get her teammates involved. For this young team growing the whole group may be more important than hero-balling them to a win. Boston is getting better and better and you can directly tie that to Clark feeding Aliyah the ball at her favorite spots.
  4. Men are bigger, faster, stronger, more coordinated. Would you advocate then to disband all women's sports?
  5. Absolutely. Try to run it through Boston as much as possible, Aliyah is really coming on strong now. Also helps to have a trio with cat-quick Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell is really fun to watch and compliments the skills of the other two.
  6. Caitlin last night: 18 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, 6 turnovers. She does have Manu-itis, tries to jam those passes into very small windows. Our very own Ariel Atkins on the Mystics had 27 points in the losing effort.
  7. Well crap. Misses the rest of her rookie year and the Olympics. Women and the goddamn ACL tears, that's a full year gone for her. Who do we put on the 3 on 3 team now?
  8. The women's game is played below the rim and is similar to the NBA prior to all the dunking and hyper athleticism. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I suggest you just don't watch it, but if you want to try and get into it watch Rori or Maddie on the UT women's team. You can get excited cause it's UT vs Aggie or whatever, and can watch some great players showing off a lot of heart and some remarkable skills.
  9. "Sources tell me Cameron Brink walked out of Mohegan Sun arena with no assistance, no ice, and no visible brace (but she was wearing long pants). Hopefully that’s good news, but Curt Miller did say post game she’d be evaluated tomorrow. " Still some concern of a possible ACL injury. Hopefully not, she has been playing well and significantly adds to this rookie class.
  10. Becky's crew has really been struggling without her. Quite a drop-off from last year, will be interesting to see if they vastly improve with her back. Need to get Gray in game shape before the Olympics as well.
  11. I remember it like it was yesterday. "After SMU's 82-79 loss to Texas on Feb. 28, losing coach John Shumate, irate because a foul was not called against Texas on a close play in the closing seconds, gave his Longhorn counterpart, Tom Penders, a hard hand slap instead of a shake. Penders was left with a jammed thumb but no hard feelings. "They tell me I'll be able to bowl by Monday," he said."
  12. Real question / not attacking / would like to hear your opinion. Why is Clark getting all this when those before did not?
  13. Did anyone ever figure out who visited over the weekend? Everybody getting sneaky these days.
  14. I'd be feeling far more confident with another big or two. Moore and Jones are certainly a good starting point but we need depth, thankfully Vic and the staff are obviously attempting to address the issue. Hopefully, the guard challenges we faced from not being successful in the portal last year, will light a fire to address our big girl needs for 2024-2025
  15. Total of two with Shaylee gone. But we added one for Harmon so...
  16. I'm not either, but definitely some surprises again this year. Would be nice to not have players that come to the team recovering from injury. I'm hoping we end up with a bench full of players Vic trusts to play. Hate playing these deep teams while half our bench never gets out of warm-ups. Do we pick up another player with Maul leaving?
  17. Dammit. Didn't see this coming. Had Codio, Jak, Amina and Maul as possibilities but not DeYona. We're not alone in this and we've got to expect it every year. The portal giveth and it taketh away.
  18. We had only 4 losses in the B12 this year. How hard is it going to be to replicate that in the SEC?
  19. Yep, it does. Lost her playing time to Moore, Gaston, and Jones but at least she came back for the tourney. You have to be pretty good for Vic to sign you up, but the talent level here is on the incline, so some of the young ladies have some tough decisions to make. Everyone wants to play, can't blame them.
  20. Holy crap. "Booker becomes the first freshman to win the award and the first UT player to win the award. " And we've probably got three more years of Madi's magic; stoked. 🤘
  21. If you are a famous public personality in the age of every jackass having a publicly visible voice, you will be criticized and probably threatened on some level. The more abrasive you are the more attacks you will receive. She is benefiting from her fame and suffering the consequences. Threats are never ok, but famous people need to expect and have a strategy to deal with it. It is coming. She certainly should express her emotional challenges and frustrations, no problem there. The issue I have is the context. It was the post-game interview in which the losing team typically says “we tried hard but failed to execute….give credit to the other assholes, they played well….we didn’t respond…. the refs fucked us….” whatever. And that’s it. It’s like “horns down”. Please do it all you want, just not in the good game handshake line. Angel’s maturity level had her change the subject entirely from the game and try to elicit sympathy for how hard it has been since “I” won the championship. She couldn’t own the loss, she tried to get everyone to feel sorry for her. Her road ahead will be hard if she doesn’t grow up quick.
