  1. Honorable Mention Ja’Mee Asberry (Baylor), Dre’Una Edwards (Baylor), Zakiyah Franklin (Kansas), Taiyanna Jackson (Kansas), Ana Llanusa (Oklahoma), Shaylee Gonzales (Texas), Taylor Jones (Texas), Sonya Morris (Texas), JJ Quinerly (West Virginia), Madisen Smith (West Virginia) And Taylor Jones makes 3 for H.M. Going to be a great year.
  2. Yes, she earned the position, it wasn't a gift. Just had to get the rules right. Massively getting ahead of things here, but I could see this possibly keeping our program in good hands for decades to come.
  3. KD: “first, set up a bunch of alternate twitter accounts” I was fading a bit on my KD love but then I saw him repping the university not just with the men’s but with the women’s Bball program - meeting with players and future recruits. He did not have to do that and I know how much that meant to the young ladies. KD/UT for life.
  4. Really too bad, hopefully she can come back next year. Sounds like the knee has been a problem for a while, probably a good time in her life to get it fixed and come back full strength before pursuing her WNBA career.
  5. Yeah, they screwed that up. Sadly. I'm just busy spooning up to this quote: "perhaps no addition around the country could prove to be more consequential than Texas adding Gonzales." Hells yes.
  6. Aaliyah Moore makes the U23 USA basketball squad along with Celeste. Will be great experience for her, glad to see folks recognizing her skills. She's going to be ready for the upcoming season.
  7. That's a lot of new pieces but the talent and experience is definitely there. Just need to learn how to play together and get the new players up to speed with Vic's defense. Always some luck involved but I can see this group cutting down a lot of nets and absolutely in the running for the last team standing. Just wish we had all the staff in place, getting pretty late in the year(wft?).
  8. Full team up now. This group is going to burn down some houses.
  9. Anissa got the full ride! Much deserved, a really nice moment for the team. I'll bet she even gets her name on her jersey this year. Very nice.
  10. Never understood the love for him on espn.
  11. Wow, that's really too bad, she was going to be a junior I think? We play them November 14th in Connecticut. Women and those ACL's
  12. Good on ya Aaliyah. Great to see, well deserved.
  13. Yeah, seemed strange to me too, hopefully this is what she wanted. With that 3 point percentage you would have thought she would have had her pick of suitors.
  14. It does doesn't it? Still don't know how all this gets reported, might just be the largest announced. Gives us a target to shoot for though, I'm sure it got Vic's attention. Not sure about your ROI on a thing like this but for a booster that may not be the point. One wonders when our evil empire leaves their conference if they will still pony up the cash for WBB.
  15. I've never seen a report of how much money is going where, would be very interesting to know.
  16. Damn, $375,000 per year for a team that just went 4-14 in conference last year. I really hope Texas has a plan for our women's teams. I guess Ashley will feel appreciated now.....
  17. This is for 2023. Dammit. I really liked Sammie. Seems like a great kid, wish her well and hope she finds a place that fits for her.
  18. Shaylee Gonzales not Matharu. (as you know)
  19. We are better than Baylor. Let's prove it. This ends now.
  20. 100% true. Hard to not get attached though, loved me some Lattimore and Mitchell. I think I'm just not as shocked now as I was but still very disappointed.
  21. Ha! Right there with you on the three point production. That inside game is going to be pure entertainment, so many problems for opposing coaches to try and prepare for but the whole thing opens up with we can knock down some timely threes. This inside is so good I keep forgetting about Gaston. Will be nice not to have to worry about Ebo running out of gas, and foul trouble won't be such an issue with our depth. Can't wait.
  22. I hear your point but the better players you attract to your program the more you run into "Dream Team" problems - how to get all these good players minutes. I think these are the problems we want to have and I guess we have to get into the frame of mind that players are going to leave at times to get more minutes elsewhere. You just hope the players you keep are the top players you want. The one area I think we could have an issue with is our 3 point production. That's where the loss of Matharu hurts. Girl could shoot. But with Vic's defense, better production inside, and just a general upgrade for our whole offense that may not hurt us that bad. Harmon's 3% may go up with a season under her belt and we know her 45 foot shot is golden. She's close to ok at .319% Holle is going to get some looks so she needs to get that .273 up. Morris is good at .350 and Gonzales is a better shooter than .227 (I know, you are what your record says you are), she seemed to drop her 3% every year for some reason but I trust Vic to sort that out. And Hunter is a possible diamond from 3 if she can just take care of the rest of her game and get some playing time. Great to see her working on her handles.
  23. Love to see Hunter doing work on her game. Looks like she's focused and hopefully will make a big leap this year.
  24. Ouch. She always looked pretty lost on D and had some silly turnovers in limited minutes but that's not unusual for a freshman. I don't think that shooting against New Orleans was a fluke - hard for a shooter to get into a rhythm with limited playing time but she still shot .389% from 3 for the year. Vic has a number of new pieces that need to get playing time at the beginning of the year but I really hope Hunter gets some burn. It did take guts to hang around and with the recent departures her staying should really endear her to the fan base. Go Hunter.
