My wife teaches history in a preserved 1 room school house in a park, and had to ride it out with a bunch of 4th graders in the city parks reptile center where they let the kids pet the snakes to keep them calm.
That did not work for me… the snake did not calm down at all.

Dude, can I stay in your gardener's shed? I'll tend your garden and promise not to fuck your wife.

It's always weird when Snacks pops in like once a year to explain why he thinks Trump can't he held accountable. I remember him arguing that convicting Trump following his second impeachment was unconstitutional, just based on his own vibes or something.
I do know that Trump‘s goofy lawyers were arguing that you cannot bring a criminal charge against a president unless he is first impeached and successfully convicted for the same events.
If Snacks was selling that spin he likely heard it on Fox News or somewhere like that. 24/7 on Fox News they are saying that paying off Stormy is not a crime and not election interference - the granular legal explanation being - it’s Trump - so he did nothing wrong. if you do not listen to the libtard fake news sources you never really have a clue what is going on in the country or the world. which is why the country is failing.

I don't even know what the alleged illegality is, but you think it's a fine deal?
Paying off a chick to keep her from talking about an affair doesn't sound like election interference to me... But you think 12 people will all not have a reasonable doubt that it is?
Tell us you have no idea about anything without telling us you have no idea about anything. Low info citizens are the death of the republic.

Yeah, her office literally said people shouldn't be so concerned with this book/dead dog story, when the Southern border is in crisis. They told me this. Plainly. Like it was going to change my attitude about dead puppies in gravel pits.
it’s not like she put the dog in a dog crate and tied it to the top of a station wagon and drove across America

They do. They lost 8 million in WW2. They will burn through a couple million before anyone gives a shit.
And that number included all of the people in Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, etc., that made up that Soviet number.
I’m not sure how many people fled the Soviet Union when Hitler attacked, but I’m pretty sure that 1 million young men did not flee the country and deprive the military of their services.
in Russia, you can kill all the non-blonde slavs at a higher rate with no blowback. Killing young men from Moscow and St. Petersburg is going to be a huge problem. And back then the Soviet union was the Soviet union- politically. There were not a bunch of Republics with their own presidents to decide that their men are no longer going to be fodder for the meat grinder.
I agree that Russia can lose more, but I disagree that they can lose 1 million more. I doubt they can lose a half million more If that number includes sons of the elite in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

I view it more as a massive junior varsity constituted for different reasons - with an opportunity to cherry pick the very best of the mandatory two year people to supplement the professional cadre.I'm not sure the U.S. military wants to deal with conscripts after spending the last 50 years developing a very effective professional military.
in World War II, the US military fought for less than a year in Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany/ Austria. Adding the Italian campaign only adds 6 to 8 months to that year. We had our smaller professional army doing tour after tour in the Middle East, which was not a good thing for our personnel. Right now we see Ukraine hanging on by a thread because they cannot rotate enough soldiers. Stalin was right about very few things, but he was right that quantity has a quality all its own.
While drones and Geo smart munitions have changed the face of modern war, to take an hold territory you need boots on the ground in sufficient numbers to advance/hold once you have Air Superiority.
I was number 27 in the Vietnam selective service draft, but was not called up because they were arguing about the shape of the table in peace negotiations. I will absolutely defer to military professionals who have far more insight than I do, but as a non-serving citizen looking at the last 30 years of US military involvement - and the recent Ukraine Russian fight- I feel like we need a bigger military so long as China is acting salty.
Could be wrong, I am a known idiot.

I've often wondered about compulsory military service for a year or two after high school for Americans. It is mandatory in all Scandinavian countries, Austria, and quite a few other countries. To hit on the above, it instills discipline, punctuality, accepting authority, and how to work as a team. It might not make a difference in some, after they leave the military, but you would think it would take quite a few and turn them away from the incel path, before it starts, and towards being a kind, contributing member of society.
CHIEF
Cosign chief. it would also help identify the mentally ill who cannot accept authority - and would provide a means (possibly) for those with sketchy literacy skills to be forced to sit in the class with the teaching equivalent of a drill sergeant helping them how to read and write at (at least) a minimal level required to be a functioning member of society.
In a broader picture, it would take people out of their current culture and get them away from people/family/friends who enable negative behavior with their support.
If you only lived in bumfuck Arkansas or some Inner-city project your whole life, the fact of meeting a ton of different people with a different take on the world would be a positive thing. It would also be good for kids born on third who think they hit a home run to have to compete - and lose - to individuals they previously thought were their inferiors.
I think it is a great idea and a good return for the money. And if we ever face a Ukraine situation, you have millions of people who went through basic training.
