  1. They may have no option but to swallow their pride and join the MWC, either that or wave the white flag and join the Ivy League?
  2. We may not have any bluebloods, but the level of parity and competitiveness will make it the most intriguing and interesting conference to watch due to not being top or bottom heavy.
  3. You can fuck that chicken all you want but that doesn't make it be the case. There will be no less then 3 power conferences that matter and all signs show that the Big 12 is positioning itself well to be that third conference.
  4. I'm anything BUT card-carrying. Still in my Jack phase.
  5. Not going to happen. Is this a serious question? This would solidify the Big 12's seat at the power conference table. Umm, they added us. We're as nerdy as it gets. Longterm it would be bad for everyone as the general interest in the sport (and thus the $$$) would dry up and that pie would shrink like a pair of naked testicles in the Bering Strait.
  6. FIFY True Christianity is a foreign concept compared to the hypocrisy they practice.
  7. My grandmother recently passed away. On her will and testament, she had stipulated that she wanted to be buried with all of her favorite possessions. Needless to say, her cat was not happy about that decision.
  8. Neil Peart (R.I.P) was twice the drummer, probably the greatest drummer of a generation. He literally could have had the visual acuity of Stevie Wonder and would still be no less a drummer, I've never seen a drummer hit all of the drums in a set without looking or turning his head.
  9. GTFOOH with that bullshit. They would have taken BYU because we own the Utah market and have a larger presence outside of the state. Simply put, BYU is clearly the more valuable and bigger brand. It's already pretty much disappeared. It's beyond salvageable.
  10. So this is what they meant when they said they were in "alignment"... You're forgetting Taysom Hill's kryptonite, Utah State.
  11. Not going to happen. They'll drop athletics before they relent on Sunday play. He's been a godsend to this conference. While I don't share his fixation on basketball, I love what he's doing in helping the Big 12 to keep pace with the B1G and SEC. For Basketball, Yormark has this fixation on making it the strongest basketball conference and doing a separate deal for the conferences basketball.
  12. They don't expel anyone for being gay. Gay or straight as long as you aren't having premarital sex you're fine. We've had and still do have LGBTQ faculty on staff and I've known some LGBTQ students while I attended BYU and none of them had any issues. They were treated just like anyone else.
  13. I can't stand the horns down sign. It's stupid and classless. Especially when WVU did it a few years back. Kalani wouldn't allow our players to do something so petty.
  14. I get what you are saying. I have a great sense of humor (I nearly wet my pants to Orgazmo and the South Park episode making fun of Mormons) To me it comes down to intent, but it can be hard to laugh at somebody intentionally mocking something I hold to be sacred and very personal in order to get at me and under my skin. It just crosses a line as the intent is just completely different.
  15. A big portion are (including many of the Apostles, some of the First Presidency and many in the Quorum of the Seventy), but the University as an institution and a large portion of it's faculty are openly hostile towards LDS and the church and towards BYU, though BYU is the superior/higher ranked institution. I see what you are saying and I get the frustration and why they would feel the way they do. But they take things too far re: harassing, pouring drinks on us, spitting on us, cussing at us and children at the games, openly mocking our religion. One guy took a sacrament tray from a local church and repurposed a sacrament trey for jello shots. A friend had her uncle punched in the stomach while at a game in Rice Eccles when we played them a few years back and someone else had their car vandalized. They take it way beyond rivalry banter into pure hostility and the LDS Ute fans turn a blind eye to it and don't speak up about it. I remember the reports of Ohio State fans from when Texas played them in Columbus in 2005, it was like that but worse as the hostility follows us into their stadium.
  16. And how do I know? I served my mission north of SLC of all places and we'd have trucks in Ute logo stickers flipping us off and yelling all sorts of crap at us as we were walking and riding our bikes. I didn't grow up with the rivalry because I grew up in Northeast Texas so it was my first exposure to their fanbase.
  17. It's crazy, back before Urban Meyer came in 2003, their fanbase was small and limited to pockets in SLC and Davis/Weber Counties and the rivalry was friendly and good natured. Then Urban Meyer came and turned it toxic, they started winning and all of their fans started coming out of the wood works and by fans, I mean those who use the rivalry as an avenue of hate towards LDS and the LDS church. They were obnoxious before, but became completely insufferable and toxic after and after moving up to the Pac 12, they became delusional and arrogant in every way, they were and are completely toxic. They lack self awareness because their football heritage goes back all of 20 years and they are obsessed with and hate BYU more then they support and root for their own program.
  18. Hopefully Utah. They are the worst fans in CFB.
  19. Tyler Allgeier and Bijan are going to make an effective 1-2 punch at RB.
