Exactly -- it's the same with Rodney Terry as it was with Chris Beard. The women's crowd vs. Kansas State was exceptional.

But my point -- which you just made -- is that it's about the Moody Center, not Chris Beard. Chris Beard is NOT responsible for the Moody Center being constructed.

16,231....why I remember that number I have no idea.  I do remember attending several games over the years and the seats were just too comfortable!  I mean who wants to stand up?

    This is me.

Probably will have my 8 yr old do my picks based on color and mascot, I’ll donate tonight

Btw is college bball a week behind? Seems like usually this past weekend is the first weekend of madness.

seems like it to me.  I had spring break last week, and I was muttering how I could have spent time productively watching the tourney.

  3. wow, just looked at the box score for our '22 game against Purdue.  They had a guy shoot 1 for 7 in FGs, who was sent to the Free Throw line 9 times.

Our entire starting starting lineup goes to the line ..........you got it........9 times.  How did Beard not get thrown out of the game, throwing the biggest fit ever?

hey I'm all in but it is cute you think the refs aren't gonna work to fuck us for the 3rd time in a row...

damn me, I forgot all about two years ago.  What happened then?

  5. okay, just to remind everybody here, the March Madness gods have most likely met by now, and #1 on their list is that Texas deserves some reparations for last year's 2nd half debacle, when only the refs outright 100% refusal to make a call against the other team resulted in the Texas loss.

    We are winning 2 games.

This is a bit presumptuous, no? I remember a bunch of aggies salivating at their shot to face Texas in round two last year as a 7-seed…

Yes, of course it is! That is why I am a fan and not a player!

IMO, if you're buying new and plan to keep the car past the age of it's note it's usually worth it to spring for the extended warranty. In my experience, cars start to get gremlins around 70k miles and a transmission repair on a "non wearable part" like the chain is usually covered (read your Ts and Cs though).

Have you driven a CVT car yet? It's a different experience behind the wheel, and I found that I preferred a stepped transmission to a CVT. The biggest reason they're so efficient is that they're tuned to always be on the power curve of your engine, but that also means it doesn't really like to go high RPM for a punch of speed like you get from downshifting a gear or two

Yes, I own a CVT, 2022 Hyundai Kona.  No problems driving it, first new car for the wife and I since 2008 Mazda5.  I'm older now, so I baby the accelerator, trying to get the high mpg.  Haven't even looked at manual yet to see when tranny is supposed to be serviced.

Pretty sure we played him the previous 2 years.  Playing Barnes this year will make 3 years on a row that we've played him.

    I meant in the tourney!

We cant have it both ways folks. We cant clown on Barnes for 15 years for sucking dick in the tournament and then cry when we get potentially matched up in the 2nd rnd. Thats prime Barnes choke territory. i like it

This is delicious.  We finally get to go against choke-um Barnes instead of predicting and seeing it.  This is going to be a great game!

  10. so, damned if I do and damned if I don't.  Get the CVT with the high MPG and take the risk of CVT failure "chain failure?" or get a slightly higher priced car with lower MPG and an 8 speed transmission;

or the wildcard.  Take a serious chance and buy a 10+ year old car from an auction company that auctions off government agency cars - I would be comfortable doing this not with a large 4 X 4, but smaller trucks- I found one the other day - 2013 Nissan Frontier - looked good, definitely not a police cruiser- but I bet the county or whomever is selling does not let you take the truck to get it inspected.  It sold for $6500, which I would be comfortable paying for that truck, assuming the vehicle had been serviced at a reasonable rate.  This one had reasonable miles, a little over 100,000.

It also helps if Hunter makes more shots than a dead guy.

Flashed all the way back to Abe...Abe Lemons, for the youngsters, had a bunch of Abe-isms.  "You scored one point more than a dead man."

Does it come with heated seats?

ha! it should right?  I think it does, but truth is I'm moving back to Texas after 6 years in the bush of Alaska.  Just woke up and it is a ridiculous -38 degrees now.  I'm so jealous of the teachers who traveled to Anchorage to enjoy the warmth of 30 degrees above 0 for the week.

  13.  I'm partial to Hyundai for some reason, and I have lots of time on my hands here above the Arctic Circle this week, during spring break, -33 degrees in the morning, and I expanded my search just now and found a new 2024 Hyundai Tucson for 25k, $6500  under MSRP..huh?  Attraction of Tucson would be an 8 speed tranny instead of the CVT which is on the smaller sedans I've been looking at.  Elantra is the favorite, due to the 40+ gas mileage, but for instant equity of $6500 not including TTL and any dealer add-ons, I could see driving a Tucson.  Wife already drives a Kona, and younger son is buying the 2016 Accent this summer, under market value.

Anybody have experience with the maintenance on the CVTs?  I'm guessing the maintenance on the 8-speed is a lot easier and cheaper.

  14. So we're a part of the #1 conference, and the only 2 bad losses were the back to back losses to W. Virginia and UCF.  If we can get healthy, we should be able to win 2 or 3 games in the NCAA tourney.

Maybe we will get lucky and avoid a repeat of last year's referee saga.  I still remember exactly where I was watching that crazy game when the refs refused to make one call in the 2nd half against that other team.  Don't remember the other team, just the refs' and their actions.

My kid needs a compact SUV.  She found a 2012 Toyota RAV4 that smelled like pizza and cost $13K.  We told that dealer to get fucked.  I'm now slowly coming around to thinking about just helping her out into a new vehicle.  Prices seem to start around $20K.

My question:  are new vehicles still pulling full MSRP or even more?

Would consider later-model used if the value is there.  Recs are welcomed.

Just saw this.  Bought new 2022 Hyundai Kona in summer 2021.  Paid $500 less than MSRP during COVID.  Good car. great warranty.
