I am but a simple layman, but the thought of any juror who has a personal agenda they will act on in deliberations getting through voir dire makes my blood boil.  I know it happens, though.

I was on a collin county jury in the late 90’s. Neither the prosecution, defense attorney or judge asked me any questions. I was something like prospective juror #30 out of 50. Maybe both attorneys had used all their dismissals by that point but I found it surprising that no questions were asked of me.

That's the Library of Congress.  I'm surprised Boobert didn't burst into flames being near that many books.

My nephew slept on that floor along with his fellow oklahoma national guard soldiers when they were protecting the peaceful transition of power at the 2021 biden inauguration from the maga.

I trust that story has gotten him laid numerous times.

Oh my word, GenXer.  I don’t know how you did that so fast.  And I don’t know how you can monetize that.  But you get that out there to the world.  Like any great political cartoon, you don’t want to busy it up with too much  copy or close captioning.  It’s though consider adding something about Cricket and/or Noem for clarity.

again, you could make this thing viral in a matter of hours.  Kudos.

edit-you gotta cross post that in the Noem thread as well.  Obviously it’ll be hard to commercialize it since it deals with Seinfeld licensing.  But you could certainly exploit it somehow to your benefit.

Our new agile mindset is working swimmingly.  The prototype is updated with an intro to enhance the user experience.

As for monetization, I’ll leave that to the sales and marketing arm of the organization.

Dammit, I was gonna post the same thing but didn't scroll down enough.

If somebody here with digital skills can take that Seinfeld clip scene at Festivus Dinner.  Where Elaine sits down and asks the OTB guys, "Hey, how'd my horse do?"  And then put Ted Cruz's face on the creepy dude in the leisure suit who says, "He had to be shot."  I promise I can get that his Chief of Staff via email.

Defense attorneys put a shock collar on him. Like a dog.

This is such low hanging fruit for the SNL cold open. Dotard is asleep. Defense attorneys concerned. Deliberate approach to wake him up. Reach down to red tie extending to floor and give it a tug. No reaction. Smelling salt. No reaction. Fart in a can. No reaction. Shock collar. No reaction. Picture of ivanka. Dotard pops awake alert and ready to get it on. Live from NY it’s saturday night. Fin.

  7. If you like oranges, sumo will be like crack. Easy to peal, thin membrane, rarely have seeds, and tastes like candy. They first appeared in Dallas about 8 years ago at Market Street. They show up in grocery stores mid-Jan and the season wraps up in march. They’re now being grown in the southern hemisphere so the season is now being extended.

I’m curious to how they can even bring supporting character witnesses in. They can all be proven to be completely full of shit on cross rather easily. Trump is indefensible and they have him pretty dead to rights on the charges here.

I’m hoping the prosecution reads trump’s mean tweets about the person that is his character witness during their cross examination followed by the question: what is your reaction to this?

    Bumping this thread.

We're doing an Athens - Athens cruise for our 35th wedding anniversary.  We are not stopping in Santorini or Milos.  Once back in Athens, we'll have four days and three nights before our flight back from Athens.  Try to hit both Santorini and Milos?  This will be end of October so we will not have the summer crowds.  We'll be in Athens for three days and two nights before we get on the boat.

If you’ve never been to Santorini, I recommend it. The views from the caldera are unlike anything anywhere.

  10. I’ve been on two separate biz trips to bangalore. I stayed at a company house each time. Bangalore has higher elevation so its temperature is comfortable. We had a driver to get us to the office and back to the guest house.

The commute to and from work was the most fascinating thing. The morning commute had intersections filled with buses with people sitting on top and riding the bumper, auto rickshaws, cars, motorcycles, a cow or two lounging in the intersection, and a six year old wandering between the traffic. Mayhem.

The evening commute is dark so it’s not the visual extravaganza. I usually took a nap to the make the 1.5 hrs go by faster.

Every day the route would be different as the drivers would let each other know which route was the “best”.

You would see modern office buildings next to a neighborhood of houses made of cardboard. You can’t really call them homeless because that was actually their multi-generational home.

On my first trip, I took a weekend and flew from bangalore to new delhi, took a train to agra to see the taj mahal, took an overnight train to jaipur to see the city, took a train back to new delhi and flew back to bangalore. When I got off the train in agra, a guy offered to give me a tour of the city to see the taj, mini taj, agra fort, take me to eat for the day. $20.

My second trip I got food poisoning that set in minutes before my departing flight from bangalore to frankfurt connecting to dallas. I got on the flight and suffered my way back to dallas where the flight attendants forced me to deplane in a wheelchair. I had spent the entire flight from frankfurt to dallas in the bathroom. They periodically checked on me to make sure I was still alive.

LONDON (AP) — Two military horses that bolted and ran miles through the streets of London after being spooked by construction noise and tossing their riders were in serious condition after undergoing operations, a U.K. government official said Thursday.

The animals were among a group of four horses that broke free during routine exercises Wednesday near Buckingham Palace and caused chaos as they galloped loose through central London during morning rush hour. A fifth horse that tried to bolt hadn’t been able to break free.

Two of the horses underwent operations and one was transferred to an equine hospital, the British Army posted on X.

“Three of them are fine, two of them are unfortunately in a relatively serious condition and obviously we will be monitoring that condition,” defense minister James Cartlidge told Sky News. “They are in a serious condition, but as I understand, still alive.”

Three soldiers thrown from their steeds were hospitalized with injuries, but were expected to fully recover and return to duty.

The loose horses from the Household Cavalry, the ceremonial guard of the monarch and a feature of state functions in London, were named as Vida, Quaker, Trojan and Tennyson.

Cartlidge identified Vida as the white horse seen drenched in blood as it galloped down Aldwych, in between London’s historic financial center and the busy West End theater district.

Vida ran alongside a black horse named Quaker that could be seen sideswiping a taxi as it turned into oncoming traffic after running through a red light at an intersection.

During the wild spectacle captured by stunned commuters and shared on social media, the horses had near misses with cyclists and a rider on a motorbike at a traffic light.

Witnesses saw one of the animals crash into a taxi outside the Clermont Hotel, shattering windows. Another slammed into a tour bus, smashing the windshield.
