JFC. I don’t think anybody would’ve held it against you to make and serve your own special koolaid for that.

They probably would’ve attempted an exorcism

"I was in Wichita Falls for a wedding.  A Catholic wedding.  Where the reception was alcohol-free.  The long drive home down plenty of barren stretches of road gave me ample time to ponder exactly which of my many sins that experience was punishment for, but in spite of my multitude of sins . . . some of which are so appalling, I didn't enjoy even a brief memory of them . . . I couldn't come up with a single one worthy of the punishment of a dry Catholic wedding reception in Wichita Falls."

There.  Just wrote the first paragraph of my novel.

As a teenager, my mom and her mother forced my older sister and me to attend a winter wedding at a community church in OKC. When we were told our sunday would be spent at said church, my sister and I grew angry. We did not know these distant relatives and had no interest in their wedding.

Did I mention the wedding was to take place during the super bowl? Yeah. They wanted to ruin a great American holiday. Upon further questioning about what kind of heretics would do such a thing, my sister became convinced we were attending a cult wedding. My grandmother countered by saying that they couldn’t possibly be a cult; the couple was doing so well financially, they weee honeymooning in Switzerland.

As we suffered through the wedding ceremony, we found that a) we had to sit through a sermon b) they were going on a mission to switzerland c) they passed around a collection plate during the ceremony to help fund the mission

The ceremony was a bore. No music. No alcohol. I missed the entire super bowl.

That was the day I began losing my religion.

It's wildcat I think that points out, rightly, that a lot of these people, the petit bourgeouisie, are the main Trump supporters.

But, given how predictable the harm to businesses that rely on imported products (/Gary Oldman EVERYONE gif), it's astonishing that they're caught short by any of this.

And, it bothers me quite a lot because these are most of my clients (I am unsure how many were Trump voters, but all of them are like the MKC guy as far as having their oxen gored).

Seriously, how fucking stupid do you have to be to be a small business owner who sources raw materials and equipment from outside the US and not realize the tariff king is going to impose tariffs that affect you? Do these dumbfucks use an intermediary importer/exporter that is US based and think all the stuff comes from them? Have these dipshits thought to ask the intermediary where they source their stuff?

Free market + the tariff king says these dipshits’ businesses die. Good riddance.

Never thought about moving to Maine.

We’re considering it. Summers are perfect. Fall is popular with the leaf crowd. The coastal towns do christmas up big.

There’s skiing to pass the time in the winter. There’s a ski mountain in Camden and a couple of larger ones more inland.

It's one thing for that fat fuck to lie to the cameras from his fat fucking mouth but he's now going to have the number crunchers making shit up and publishing them under the guise of statistics. We're fucking done as a country. And no, this isn't some tipping scale for me, I've been done with this shit from the beginning, but objectively, fucking with actual economic statistics should be a massive red flag even for the staunchest conservative. But they are all worthless, dickless fucking traitors, and prefer outright ministry of information type bullshit. Absolutely fucking pathetic.

Back in the day, we all clowned iraq for this.

I don't recall other Presidents communicating to the world about placement of our most dangerous war-fighting tools, but who knows, I may just be an idoit.

Oh. You’re not on signal and added to various whiskey fueled Defense Secretary chats? You should look into that.

  8. A couple years ago, we went to boston, and I had a really good stout near harvard. It was by a maine brewery called mast landing. The beer is gunner’s daughter.

I looked for it in every restaurant we went to last week. It was at only one of them. West Street Cafe in bar harbor.

    Damn it was good.
