The people who called Michelle Obama a communist for suggesting that school meals be healthier, and Michael Bloomberg a fascist for trying to limit sales of soda by the bucket, are now totally on board with the federal government imposing healthy food requirements. Cool, cool, cool. I bet the new found "maha" brigade would still scoff at the concept of "food deserts" which are a very real problem, because woke, dei, or some shit. I fucking hate this country.

Republicans are disingenuous pieces of shit

Republican Sen. Mike Lee's pornography ban is moving forward in the Senate

The law would alter the Miller Test. The test defines obscenity as material that … lack serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."

This is a flawed argument. As once posited many moons ago by pronghorn, the question still remains: how does the ass take the length? Science.

All these reports of Las Vegas being empty are great. Nevada, you wanted this. You voted for the cunt and his policies. That combined with your own arrogance over thinking people will always pay up to come to Vegas put you in this position. Maybe overbuilding and overleveraging yourselves was a bad idea. I'll spend my vacation dollars in blue states like California, Colorado, and Washington.

I vacationed in maine a couple weeks ago and drove past two no kings protests with about 50 people each in small coastal towns. One was in Wells on a monday and the other in Damriscotta on a friday.

Interestingly enough, there are many US flags and banners in those maine coastal towns. However, I didn’t get the maga vibe with them. It felt more nautical because ships at sea fly the flag of the country that they’re registered. It was very nice seeing the american flag all over and not getting the maga fake patriotism vibe.

I also met a couple of people visiting from scotland at portland head light. We were both shockingly lucky to get parking spots right by the lighthouse. Right time right place kinda thing. Everyone else was parking several hundred yards away. We both looked at each other and laughed like we found some cheat code and started chatting with each other. I thanked them for coming to the US on vacation. I try to be a bit of an ambassador when I meet people on vacation here from other countries.

One of the shops in Damriscotta doesn’t shy away from the dangers we face.

The store was packed with shoppers. I chatted with the owners briefly. They would fit in here.

I picked this up at their shop. It’s the size of a pack of cards. I like maine.

There's more evidence to prove Santa Claus than God.

It’s pretty obvious that santa claus is a metaphor for god to groom children into believing the unbelievable.

Lives way up north. Always watching. Always judging. If you’re good, you get rewarded. If you’re bad, you get coal so that you can burn it. There’s a list. Has a bunch of indentured servants. You’re supposed to leave an offering for him. He is the sole judge of your worthiness. If you’re lucky, you might see him. Also helps if you have schizophrenia.

"Superman is encouraging Americans to become real-life superheroes by answering their country's call to join the brave men and women of ICE to help protect our communities to arrest the worst of the worst," said DHS assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Ah yes superman. That great American hero.

The child who was immigrated into the US from not just the arctic north but another planet. An actual illegal alien.

The child who grew up in the midwest only to become a member of the fake news media.

The man who identified as a regular joe but was actually a dangerous criminal capable of mass destruction and reversing time. Reversing time? Sounds like global financial fraud.

    The irony is palpable.

"I was in Wichita Falls for a wedding.  A Catholic wedding.  Where the reception was alcohol-free.  The long drive home down plenty of barren stretches of road gave me ample time to ponder exactly which of my many sins that experience was punishment for, but in spite of my multitude of sins . . . some of which are so appalling, I didn't enjoy even a brief memory of them . . . I couldn't come up with a single one worthy of the punishment of a dry Catholic wedding reception in Wichita Falls."

There.  Just wrote the first paragraph of my novel.

As a teenager, my mom and her mother forced my older sister and me to attend a winter wedding at a community church in OKC. When we were told our sunday would be spent at said church, my sister and I grew angry. We did not know these distant relatives and had no interest in their wedding.

Did I mention the wedding was to take place during the super bowl? Yeah. They wanted to ruin a great American holiday. Upon further questioning about what kind of heretics would do such a thing, my sister became convinced we were attending a cult wedding. My grandmother countered by saying that they couldn’t possibly be a cult; the couple was doing so well financially, they weee honeymooning in Switzerland.

As we suffered through the wedding ceremony, we found that a) we had to sit through a sermon b) they were going on a mission to switzerland c) they passed around a collection plate during the ceremony to help fund the mission

The ceremony was a bore. No music. No alcohol. I missed the entire super bowl.

That was the day I began losing my religion.
