Appreciate ox’s willingness and ability to put shots on target from the edge of the box.

I remember reading awhile back that Klopp told Ox he should shoot every chance he gets from outside the box, which is a greenlight that most players don't get because it's such a low percentage shot.

totally agreed. had Granit Xhaka done either the face stomping or the high, studs up challenge he would have been (rightly) sent off. i don't believe there's any conspiracy, but year on year the numbers show that nobody gets fucked by referee/VAR decisions more than Arsenal. so weird, so frustrating.

I was curious about this because I think most fans think their club gets the short end of the VAR stick more often than not. Certainly there are varying degrees of VAR crimes against each club but here are the raw numbers.

  3. NBC took PL coverage to the next level. Glad they won the bid. Kind of annoying that it means we'll have to have Peacock forever, especially if games are split between standard TV stations and Peacock, but at least the coverage will be good.

  4. Aston Villa are expected to make a formal approach for Stevie G and I hope he gets the job. It would be nice to see him at a club the size of Villa, with European aspirations and a huge fan base, but it's a bit of a tricky situation with them hovering just above the relegation zone. Still, I think they've underachieved so far and have more than enough talent to compete for Europa League.

Per The Guardian, their next choice is Eddie Howe.  A different strategy from City's petro faction, who went right out and got Mancini.

Eddie Howe is a great choice for a club who's gonna play in the Championship next season.

  6. I'm surprised Nuno didn't take some time off after leaving Wolves. He seemed utterly spent and jumping right into a bad situation at Spurs was always going to prove a monumental challenge.

    Whe do we got tonight?

    Kelleher Adrian

    Williams/Gomez/Konate(Matip with some time)/Tsimikas

    Ox/Jones/? Morton

    Gordon/Minamino/Origi Blair

Can't say I know anything about Blair and Morton.  If these games gove these guys minutes, then let's go ahead an win.

Morton came on as halftime sub against Norwich in the previous round of the League Cup and was very impressive, honestly one of the better players on the field. Holding midfielder.

Blair is totally out of left field. He's an 18-year old winger who's only played for the U-18's with no appearances at U-23 level. We signed him from the Mancs when he was 12, so bonus points if he turns out to be a good one.
