  1. Lol KY going KY. I still think they'll lose
  2. reportedly the same place...Chimney Rock
  3. Iwanttoknowmore.gif
  4. They change them as frequently as they change mascots landshakbearkfc
  5. Yeah, but to fail "catastrophically" it would be holding a lot more water over a larger area, with more to follow
  6. Why even have a strap? just set it on the ground at that point
  7. Sound off is your friend
  8. Mother nature is a force to be reckoned with, but I do wonder about the upkeep of our civilian infrastructure. I know that dams are built with safety margins in mind (designed for 1,000 year storm events etc) However it's become clear that those risk factors were calculated without climate change impacts in mind. Lake Lure was built in the 1920's. I sure hope since then the maintenance budgets haven't been cut or stretched like they have here in Ft Lauderdale. Our water infrastructure explodes if too many people have taco bell.
  9. was going to the Violent Femmes tonight... but postponed. I hope they know this will go down on their permanent record
  10. I just assumed he was talking about the bribe he was trying to solicit from Zelenyski
  11. It's not in your head. Dyno results include ambient temp for a reason. It's been a minute since I played around with fuel and timing maps, but intake temp plays a large roll. Cooler dense air to start, heat it up in the turbo, easier to cool it off in the intercooler (air/air), you can add timing (or reduce retard) and still be safe. You can feel it in the butt dyno, but the objective increase is maybe 1%. csb: I almost went to jail on a cool "winter" evening because I was fuckin' around on the same deserted stretch of road as a motor cycle cop. As I rolled up to the smirking cop (he was setup under a large oak tree on the side of the road ahead) I called my wife and told her I was going to jail and she needed to bail me out. The cop was way cool and wrote me up for 14 over (was doing more like 60 over) with a smile on his face he told me if he ever saw me on that road again, I would be going to jail. Sold the car that weekend. FIN
  12. Heat on top down...Hell yeah. Plus in the cold the EM won't pull timing and cold dense air has more O2 to burn. It's probably only a few BHP but it feels good.
  13. Well it wouldn't have been all that hot before the storm either
  14. Well don't worry fellow patriot! Gov DeSantis has on his shiny boots and will make absolutely certain that: No Federal Aid reaches the panhandle efficiently or effectively. Harris only cares about big city elites and illegals! Polling locations and voting will have extended hours and locations for effected residents. Maybe take some supplies/funds/resources from S Florida to "help out"
  15. Both Katrina and Wilma were 2005, August and October respectively (had to look it up). Katrina did very little damage in my neighborhood, but I was in Grenada when it rolled through. I flew back early and got to the house and was basically like "I flew back early for this?!" A few months later Wilma (which I swore at the time was a Cat1) made landfall on the west coast but did take down a bunch of old trees and power poles in SE Florida. I didn't even pull the accordion shutters closed for that one. Like you, I was without power for a LONG time, mostly because FPL sucks eggs and I live on the end of a long power run through an old neighborhood chocked full of big old trees. Thank god it was cool after Wilma. Dorean could have been a HUGE problem. I really feel like we ducked that one.
  16. You want him to witness a third catastrophe?
  17. On the subject of Tallacrappy... Whistling past the graveyard here... but I'm fucking sick and tired of hearing from my insurance company how Miami/Broward/Palmbeach is a really high risk place and insurance premiums have to be extra high compared to central and N Florida. I think we've had 1 cat 1 here and a few grazing shots in 20 years. Meanwhile North and Central Florida have been catching strays every year. I'm subsidizing their lower insurance costs and *if* we do catch an Andrew to the face, the insurance companies are gonna fold like the Gata D on 3rd and long. Sorry, If it's gotta hit Florida it's best for all involved if it hits the Nature Coast.
  18. Ft Myers is going to be fine.
  19. As for the ride it out folks... I used to think under Cat3 is no reason to get excited. However, as of about 10yrs ago, I subscribe to the theory that you can just go on vacation somewhere and have a nice time whilst your shit is getting fucked up at home. Why stress about trees down in the road and possibly getting electrocuted whilst cleaning up the yard, then taking a shower with the hose, sitting in a hot wet house, and eating shitty hurricane supplies? It's madness and I'll never do it again.
