We can thank Rush Limbaugh for creating the wedge in the early '90s, and Fox News took the ball and ran with it.  Couple that with Obama's election, and here we are.

Watergate, Malaise, Ronald Reagan is a moron...

We didn’t “divide ourselves,” certain entities like Fox News and rush radicalized a bunch gullible olds and outright morons for major profit. And it worked, profit wise anyway.

Red state/blue state. Funny how you never heard those terms until good old Fox News came along.

The republicans happily encouraged all of it because they are the party of nihilism that believes in nothing. The party of I’ve got mine and I want yours too. The party of Johnny sack.

so this morning, trump says he didn't know about the tarp on the mccain, but he approves, because his people understand how he feels about mccain, so he supports the decision.

then, on cnn, they had a spokesperson from the navy, saying that was an old photo, and that there was no tarp on the ship, and that the sailors had been on leave for a few days, and it was unrelated.

takeaway - when given the chance to be anything but, trump still opts to be a petty little bitch.

and this is news?  did you live in the US in 2016?

First it is much lower the 1.5" than the others, more like 4 1/4", you should go measure it to make sure. Also the camera in the ceiling seems to be focused on that particular ATM and it is off center from it.  And clearly who ever did the tile layout on the floor has no fucking clue since it is a cut piece on both sides of the walkway.  Unless the floor changes elevation where the tile ends and the floor changes. Looking at the bottom of the column that may be the case.  This pic is full of problems.

    perfectly summarizes my whole life.

All because some asshole doing grading, electrical rough in, column layout.......doesn't give one shit about what comes next.

Also, the architect and engineer have probably issued conflicting documents in regards to the above.

If your manager is only doing equities you probably should just buy an index fund and do it on  your own.  Theoretically the help is combining with muni's...looking at your individual situation and seeing when to do what.  Also access to funds outside the traditional market...PE/Real Estate/HF at lower costs then if you tried to get into those same funds on your own etc.

But I agree for a bread and butter investor who doesn't really do much of those other things just buy a S&P index fund and go long - everyone knows long term that is really hard to beat.

Edit:  Also what perks do you get?  For managing a million dollars at one percent you can get at least one home for zero down around 4M and depending on your overall NW, possibly even the second home and at really competitive rates.  If anyone is a decent FA that million invested in the market vs your home should easily make up for that 1% fee.  If you don't trust that person - just tell them to put it all in a damn index fund of your choice.  Guaranteed they won't give a fuck as they're still getting whatever basis points to 'manage' your money and he/she knows you won't be calling them to bug.  Win/win.

Give me that last paragraph again?

Yep, I have my money handled by a local outfit in Pasadena that has about a 50 year track record.  I pay 1.25% annually, and they handle this for me.  I have another account with RBC that I am probably going to flip over to my other group.  I could try to save the money and do it myself, but I sleep better knowing it is in the hands of someone who knows a shitload more than I do.

    1.25% is sodomy.

They must kick some serious ass.

I’m talking more about the hues of the entire show not the buildings and decor or fashion and it’s a common way western film depicts Eastern Europe and Russian in the Soviet era, I could be wrong but life isn’t as drab as the film makes it seem. I could be imagining it though I’m going to pay closer attention.

    Anecdote:

I once hooked up with a woman in Frankfurt Germany in the early 2000's.  She grew up in East Germany.

Her comment about the change after the fall of the wall.  "Color came to the East".

OP didn’t specify anything other than great weather and relaxing

With the addition of traveling with kids under 10.  So I would greatly prefer something “tame” in regards to overall atmosphere and local political unrest
