My SIL is a firefighter/paramedic. You would be shocked and disgusted, or not, at the objects that people put in their asses.

Yeah, a friend of mine's mom worked in an ER and said the same thing. People really like to use their imagination.

For research purposes... Wonder if NowThis is a data point?

What did we get stuck in our rectums last year?

My dog just asked for that. Guess I know what he is getting for Three Kings day.

And for those who don't know it. It is a dad's best friend. Lets you get that gift you forgot that pissed off kid/wife/sibling.

Agreed.. And we celebrate Orthodox/Ethiopian Christmas the day after as well

  3. It's not a 'carol' per se, but this is one of my favorite Christmas songs

Based on the poem by Howard Thurman:

    Quote

When the song of the angels is stilled,

when the star in the sky is gone,

when the kings and princes are home,

when the shepherds are back with their flocks,

    the work of Christmas begins:

    to find the lost,

    to heal the broken,

    to feed the hungry,

    to release the prisoner,

    to rebuild the nations,

to bring peace among the people,

to make music in the heart.

For me, I like TSA because it stops non-terrorists from bringing weapons on the plane.

See, I like them because some weeks when I just need a human touch, I can always count on being selected for additional screening.

    Beshitted takes the early lead!

I was hoping someone could make a portmanteau of facade, facetious, and fatuous.

i believe that describes the era we live in to a tee.

Factuous (fack-too-us) Age? Facticuous (fack-tɪ-shus) Era? The fact (ha ha) that it sounds almost like factual makes it even better.

If we wanted to also pay homage to the president's physique, we could go with "fatso-us"

NSIAP - Alex Van Halen with Anderson Cooper.  Interesting personal interlude by Billy Bob Thornton - about the loss of his own brother - around 6:45

    Around 12:00 mark:
Cooper: so your dad struggled with alcohol.
Al: He didn't struggle with it.  He loved it.  My grandfather died from it.  My dad's brothers died from it.  My dad died from it.  I came very close.  And Ed battled with it his whole life.

Al says it was Dave's idea to have Jan Van Halen play clarinet on Diver Down's Big Bad Bill (is sweet William now).  He thanks Dave for the idea.

Coming to post this... really good interview (and the BBT quote landed right at the heart of some personal stuff I've been navigating)
