I'm very sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is different and very difficult. At least it was for me. I was at my father's gravesite last week at Ft Sam Houston. 17 years have gone by and it's still hard, but as the late Queen said: "Grief is the price we pay for love." Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
  3. I've been catching up on this tread this afternoon. Been on this board a long time as a lurker, but only have a handful of posts. Anyway, I am in a similar situation. I was part of the great resignation, so after 16 years in marketing financial services, I left last year. New CEO was brining in his own people and the writing was on the wall. I have a pretty good work history and never been fired, hit my goals, team player, etc, so I didn't think I would be out of work a long time. I did take some time off and traveled a bit, but then hit the ground running January of last year to find my next adventure. I'm still looking. I sympathize with Macanudo and others going through this because it's tough. Some days it's a kick in the nuts. Went through a six month interview process to finally hear no. Thought I matched up well for the job, too, which is why I pushed off some other interested companies. I've had several interviews, final panels, but no offer...yet. It's coming I know, but frustration can run high and the process can be very slow. Hang in there. You'll soon forget all the rejections and you'll celebrating a Yes offer soon.
  4. RIP Coach Gus.
  5. If anyone is pre-gaming in Southtown today, a few recommendations: * McIntyre's 1035 Presa St. It's an indoor/outdoor venue with lots of TV's. Nice place. Grand opening is today. Beer and liquor but no food. Same McIntyre's from H-town. * Friendly Spot--Outdoor bar. 943 S. Alamo. Good hangout in good weather. Food and drinks. * Bruno's (we don't talk about Bruno's)--across the street from Friendly Spot and same owners. Indoor/outdoor bar. Cheap beer, good times. Food tent sometimes and drinks. * Bar America-723 S Alamo. Great first owners. Kids took it over and added hipster vide. Still a good place for pre-game and walking distance to the dome. Food and drink. Enjoy SA. Have fun. Be safe. Hook'em.
