In general I like the quality and selection of items better at Costco, use their travel services (mainly for rental cars) and have used the link to Zurich for life insurance. Sam's feels exactly like what is is - an extension of Wal-Mart, locally the one closest to my work closed years ago, so now it is further away and part of a retail property with too much traffic.
Costco return policy is the best, I didn't know what to get tWife so I went to Costco and spent more than I should have on Ipad, kitchen counter, top appliances, couple other seasonal items, and she said it was too much .... so returned it was. Win/Win

Also - there is another option, BJ's Warehouse opened a location less than 2 miles from my house, and it is smaller and seems the brands I like, but their gas is inexpensive, not quite a low a Costco with the credit card rebate, but It isn't worth it to drive 15 miles to get gas.  I wouldn't stop at a BJ's, as I'd rather go to a grocery, or somewhere else for electronics, etc

I easily make back my Costco membership cost on just rental car and hotel savings for a few trips each year, everything else including gas savings just gravy on top.

  2. Well seeing as Chad Morris was in the rumor mill for head coach before we hired GJ I guess I'm fine bringing him in as a position coach/coordinator instead of HC...

Gotta be a touch awkward for Morris to be working for his old grad assistant at SMU, but between GJ, Mack Leftwich, Barrick Nealy,  David Bailiff and Chad Morris that's some kind of brain trust in coaching positions especially on the offense.

Edit: may have gotten my Morris's mixed up and that was Eric Morris that was in the rumor mill for HC before GJ got hired...tomato tomato

GJ just got an education about roster management.  He didn't read the room right by trying to bring in Jayden de Laura.

It's better to learn this lesson at a school like TxState than at a bigger CFB job.

Also better to learn this lesson in January instead of over the summer, plenty of time to find another couple QB’s without off field issues after spring ball

More on the story.    Note that Latu,  the accomplice, was also permitted to remain and play for Wisconsin.    And that it is reported they pled guilty though the court records are sealed contrary to the statement by deLaura's attorney.

Very sad case.    If there is a defense for Texas St, it is they followed the protocol at Wash St, Arizona, and Wisconsin.   It seems deLaura left Arizona because he missed the last 8 games due to ankle injury and the emergence of the 2nd QB Fifita who was P12 Offensive Freshman of Year.   Would be interesting to know how many teams recruited deLaura from the portal.

While I don’t like it and it seems like a fairly questionable decision on Kinne’s part, this is where he will probably get some benefit of doubt for now. Not a great defense but something to be said for the fact that de Laura was deemed copasetic enough by those other programs to be on scholarship and start games.

That being said it feels nasty and ruined the immaculate vibes around the program for the time being. Hope things work themselves out and de Laura is on the shortest of leashes if we are gonna be the ones to give him a chance…

  5. Cowboys look like they are gonna be first to let down the possibility of an all Texas Super Bowl in the playoffs this year...would have never in a million years believed that at the beginning of the season...
