  1. I’ve never really fully understood post BK companies. I guess the purpose of giving it another go is the quality of their assets plus employment for their people. But the world does not need another American public E&P. Especially one that has any CHK staff remaining.
There were loads of smart people at Enron. I steer clear of anyone from CHK.

Employment for management mainly. And don't worry they laid off a few hundred last week.
  2. So I’ve invested in some working interest on a secondary recovery (water flood) project over the last couple years. The project is in Madison county.  My previous experience with working interest is that the tax benefits are great, but you usually get operated to death.
Recovery seems to be going up and the operator is telling me that we are “turning the corner” and the field is almost saturated.  Anyone have any experience with water flood projects?  Just curious if it’s worth throwing some more money at this year or not.
Has there been waterflood response yet? Just a 2 min look at the rrc website looks like they drilled a well in 17 and production has declined since.

Just me but their website screams run away.

  3. Depends on how lean of red meat you're eating.  Chuck 80/20? Pass.  Filet or NY Strip?  All day long.
Just stick to meat (chicken, turkey, lean beef or wild game) and eat green veggies.  Cut out the snacking.  If you're trying to do low carb, cut out the berries/fruit and eat peanuts/almonds if you have to have a snack.  You'd be surprised at how much weight you can lose quickly if you cut out snacking and stopped eating fruits.  Fruits have sugar (even though it's unprocessed) and have a shitton of carbs.
Also, don't drink calories.  Sparkling water, water, black coffee, zero calorie powerade/gatorade.

If you're going to eat nuts stick to macadamia, Brazil, and maybe walnuts. Peanuts and almonds have a lot of carbs. Also stay away from the artificial sweetener stuff. There's no calories but otherwise your body/liver don't know they difference and acts like it's real sugar.

  4. Bagel Bob's across the street from Stratford is very good. The owner is from Queens, so he knows his stuff.
    Houston Bagel Power Rankings:
    1) Hot Bagel on Shepherd
2a) New York Deli and Coffee Shop in Meyerland
    2b) Bagel Bob's
    3) Kenny and Ziggy's on Post Oak
New York Deli makes the best drip coffee in the city in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure k&z gets their bagels from new York deli.
  5. Applewhite was like Tom Herman; had a lot of gutsy upset type wins (probably not as many as it seems) but also shit the bed against teams he and Texas should’ve dominated. His noodle arm limited the teams’ ceiling. Despite the perception, especially by frat boys, players at that time almost unanimously said Applewhite was the divisive one who thought his dick entered the locker room a minute before he did, while Simms tried to be one of the guys despite being the #1 recruit in the country and son of NFL HOFer.
Simms is a good dude and was a good player. However, showing up to jester in a limo your first day doesn't exactly scream just one of the guys.
  6. Simms was a superior QB to Teh Major in every possible way. Watching folks attempt to argue otherwise is always high comedy that usually comes down to “but but but meh meh meh Colorado!”
Probably wins a mnc the last 4 years. Had the chance to play for one but completely shat the bed. Simms was better in every possible way except winning big games.
