  1. Congrats to Belyeu. He is really coming on.
  2. I saw another high school prospect ranking recently that also had Gillen pretty high and said that if he did well this season he could possibly move up to a first day draft choice. Rainer was way up there and Luna was in there too.
  3. I watched Friday on tv. I was there yesterday and it was not what I had hoped for. Several players haven't begun to hit yet. Hurley was not great yesterday, but was serviceable. Four walks in 3.2 innings is not good. Most of the relievers looked okay, with a few shaky moments. It was good to see Luke Harrision back. Play was okay except for a couple of instances. The steal of home by SD was a cluster f. SD had several stolen bases (6 of 7). I may be wrong, think that the catchers have thrown one runner in a stolen base attempt. Last year I think Galvan threw out one in over 20 attempts. Schuessler threw out 0 in 9 attempts the year before he was hurt. That really needs to pick up. Jared and Payton have looked really good. Jack and Porter are off to a slow start. Max looks like he is more comfortable at the plate this year, but doesn't have a hit yet. The 2 homeruns have produced the majority of the runs so far.
  4. Not an Aggie engineer.
  5. Hopefully this is not a duplicate-my internet glitched when I tried to post the first time. Powell would not be my first choice either if they shuffle players around. O'Dowd was an allstate caliber shortstop in high school. This if from his bio- "Attended Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, Tenn.)…nation’s 21st-ranked shortstop by Perfect Game…Tennessee’s top-ranked shortstop and fourth-rated overall prospect…" Powell is a good utility player and could probably play SS in a pinch, as could O'Dowd.
  6. It was only a couple of weeks ago or so that Coach Pierce said that Luke had just thrown his first pitch to a live batter. So he might be ready to pitch, but he also might have to ease into it as far as innings are concerned.
  7. Did you hear that about Witt somewhere? It might not be a bad idea to use him some in the bullpen to see how his innings go, but in the last interview Pierce did say he was hitting 93 some. Not far from where he was as a freshman, but he is also a pretty good control pitcher when he is on. LBJ didn't pitch in the alumni game either and we only use a total of 7 pitchers in the game and Shaw pitched an inning for both sides.
  8. The last two seasons we were over 4.00. It has been a couple of years since we had a team ERA of under 3, but we did have it in '20 and '21.
  9. Bregman has been going down hill, I would rather keep Tucker around if it comes down to money. I also don't care for the Astros spring training hats.

  11. What YouTube video was it? Do you have a link?
  12. I am not a Corso fan and hope he doesn't come back. Pat M. doesn't add much for me, he is just another loud blowhard. I am interested to see what Saban is like.
  13. I grew up in Houston and my parents and grandparents were from east TX and I never heard that phrase either.
