If 8 want to leave, can they vote to dissolve the conference? Maybe that is FSU's grand plan?

Yes. Just need a simple majority of the 15 to dissolve which would get rid of the exit fee but the GoR would continue to exist.

Maybe the plan is that the GoR is really untenable if there is no ACC and now it's 15 separate deals that have to be dealt with and ESPN will be more willing to negotiate?

Thanks... Twitter just doesn't work well for me anymore. I couldn't see part 2 or any other reply and when I clicked on his personal profile, the most recent post is several weeks old.

  3. It's been interesting to see the different perspective about Utah.

I work with a few Utes who live in SLC, and they're all pretty laid back and are really casual about the whole thing. It might be because none of them are die hard football fans.

There are occasional chatter about odd laws that Utah has (or had) in place to appease Mormons but usual talk is ways to work around them or do their own thing, like Pie & Beer Day.

Also, those that traveled to Gainesville last year were pretty easy going (though they didn't really interact with Gators but did their own thing), but I think that would go for anyone who has the means and desire to travel a few thousand miles for a football game against a non-rival.

There's no need for any animosity between us. Urban is long gone and any bitterness from that is long gone.

That's what I'm thinking too.  It can also give cover to schools that have more reluctant admins to join the exodus.  We're seeing in the PAC how the run for the exits starts once fear kicks in.

The other plausible explanation is that this is all just kabuki theatre huffing and puffing to get Wake, BC, etc to agree to uneven shares of the media deal.  But after everything the FSu people have said over the last 24 hours, their boosters and fans will riot if they just tuck their tails between their legs and go back to the ACC.

I'm thinking it might be a bit of panic by FSU because they see the number of outside slots going away.

The chaos concept was about convincing enough ACC teams that there were better options out there in the SEC, B1G and Big 12.

Well, one slot is already gone in the Big 12 and it looks like we're days away from the Big 12 closing up expansion shop and with it, their ability to sell the idea to several ACC schools.

This could also be why we're suddenly seeing OU and UW to B1G rumors again. The B1G wants all of their possible expansion options fighting for a spot and probably willing to take even less money to make it happen.

I just watched the FSU Board meeting. I've never seen anything like that. Multiple things they said are legally actionable right now. This will get so ugly.

I didn't watch. I assumed they were just going to do the chop and then get excited that they know how to spell their name like usual.

To get the SEC to extend an invite first.

They've probably talked to B1G and SEC and both said, "come talk to us once you've figured out the GoR and we'll see how things look."

Probably trying to make a lot of noice to create some FOMO to get more of a commitment from someone or at least a guarantee for membership "whenever" it can actually happen.

It's interesting that this comes up as the FSU situation starts making waves, too.  I wonder which entity is clamoring for more B1G inventory.

Which one got stuck doing Maryland/Charlotte as their primetime game of the week?

If they go to the full 20 then they should do 9 game division schedules.

The Big12 should jump at Arizona, Arizona St. and Utah id that happens.

I'm thinking there are 4 current B1G schools that would say screw that to being put in a division with 6 west coast schools.
