  1. I can't force myself to root for a wrong-handed QB. They should be a mirror image of a right-hander, but they never are. Penix can spin it, but he looks like Uncle Rico. Therefore, go Michigan.
  2. Sark will always have the same weakness. He's a brilliant schemer and play-caller, so he simply cannot force himself to run left, run right, run middle all game long, no matter how effective it is.
  3. Brady had the mind and just needed time for the physical side to catch up. Ewers is 180 degrees opposite, and you don't develop into a stone cold killer. That's something you either are or aren't. Ewers isn't.
  4. He won't. I'm sure my opinion will rustle some feathers, but Ewers is exactly what we've seen. Good enough to win a bunch of games, but not good enough to win the last game of the season. Think Tony Romo, Dak Prescott, etc. He's not a killer. Never has been and never will be. He's a slow processor who's gotten by on incredible arm talent (that's a compliment...his arm talent alone makes him pretty good). He also has a fundamental misunderstanding of that being "cool/calm under pressure" means. He thinks it means to just sit on the sideline with his brain on cruise control. What it really means is your mental intensity/focus is as high as ever, but your execution is relaxed. It's not a lack of mental activity, it's controlled mental activity. The difference between the top 10% and the top 1%, talent/ability being equal, is what I just described. Ewers is not the latter.
  5. Our running game wasn't the problem. Does Brooks play CB or Safety? Or QB for that matter?
  6. Had to drag his feet because the ball was too close to the sideline, leaving him no vertical. Fucking Ewers. Mitchell is 6'4". You throw the ball HIGH, not at the sideline.
  7. That weird play cost us a play. We only have time for one more now instead of 2.
  8. Sark Special right here. Nothing gimmicky, just a well designed play. If it's over the middle, it's gotta be in the endzone.
  9. If they over turn this, things need to burn. There isn't enough to overturn that and I think it's a catch anyway. His fingertips never left the ball. That "bobble" was the heel of his hand.
  10. I/we have been on the losing side of so many of these last second heartbreaks, it would be nice to have one go our way for once.
  11. Washington was 119th in the country in pass defense. But they can defensively outscheme Sark? Only Texas. Only Texas.
  12. They'll Defensive Hold or Pass Interference that until the clock runs out.
  13. I've always wondered why you don't kick a low knuckleball right at someone. Yeah, they might dodge it, but a knuckler would give you a chance. Soccer goalies don't always catch it clean and that's a round ball. Just absolutely drill someone with it.
  14. I said in the CFP selection thread that we shouldn't be. It's not about who's the better team or has the better players; it's about how the teams match up. Washington is the worst possible matchup for us. Their strength is our weakness and we're seeing it tonight.
  15. It's 2019 LSU/Joe Burrow. Just a different shade of purple and the gold is actually gold.
  16. It's over. Without a turnover, it's over. We got behind a team that we can't stop. We're the tail end of the slinky.
  17. They probably said it wasn't a block in the back penalty. It wasn't. But it damn sure was unnecessary roughness since the play was over and the defender was out of bounds.
  18. It is. We can't score fast enough. Running the ball isn't an option anymore. A one score game, sure. But that FG pretty much put the nail in it.
  19. No we're not. We're about to be down 13-17 points and they have taken away our quick strike/score passing game. That was fine early in the game, but we needed to RUN THE BALL and therefore control the game's tempo in the process. Now they can let us run the ball all we want. We'll never score quickly enough and effectively run the clock out on ourselves.
  20. Honest question because I memory hole past games ... but has there been a game where bad Ewers was replaced by good Ewers at halftime? Seems like we usually get the same version, good or bad, for the entire game.
  21. We have to get pressure with the D-line, not with all out blitzes. The problem with sending too many is it puts defenders on an island; Penix will throw slants to his 3 really good WRs and they'll run for massive YAC. We'll get torched. Pressure HAS to come from the DL - they're not getting home because UW's line is pretty damn good AND they're getting away with some holds.
  22. We got our shit pushed in that half and still managed to keep it a tie game. If we can just make a few adjustments, we should be okay.
  23. That should piss off our offensive line. Now destroy them.
  24. Gonna come with the blitz. Gotta be a quick throw.
