  1. I never said he should get paid what he feels like his value is. My point was he shouldn’t be told to jump in the portal with no option to comeback. That option to come back might just be the cost of a scholarship. I don’t know what the number should be. You just don’t tell a kid like that see you later. NIL is the number 1 factor in recruiting but relationships do matter.
  2. First CJ helped Texas get to the playoffs in year 1. So let’s not act like he wasn’t a key player on the team his freshman year. Where I think you have to be careful when dealing with his situation which is unique in my opinion. He’s a leader on and off the field for the team. He is also popular in Central Florida where there are a lot of talented young football players who look up to him. I would rather he leave as a lifetime longhorn on good terms than a bad breakup. It would go a long way opening doors in an area Sark wants to recruit.
  3. I said a fair price not what he may want. If he opts to go in a different direction due to what he feels he deserves that’s fine on both sides.
  4. I think it’s fair to ask him to take a pay cut given the lack of production. I don’t think it’s a good look to not give him the option to come back at a fair price. That’s all I’m saying.
  5. CJ is not a kid you tell to hit the portal. I think it’s fair to adjust his NIL but you don’t tell a kid like him there’s no spot for him on the team. You find a role and hope in year 2 post injury he is able to stay healthy and be great is his role.
  6. He’s injured right now and it could be serious enough to impact his performance next season. So I would not have him on the wish list until his exact injury is confirmed.
  7. He was cleared and the family was clearly onboard with the decision. I don’t put this on sark at all. I’m not sure sitting him this week and playing against Georgia in his 1st game back is any safer.

Florida has an advantage when it comes to NIL. They will pay to bring in top 5 classes every year. If they address QB in the offseason they can compete with anyone next year.
  9. Can players actually enter the portal during the season?
  10. I think he just wanted to get away from home and do his own thing. I remember seeing how many family members came to his visit and thinking this isn’t necessarily a good thing.
  11. I get the narrative that’s out there about him. While there might be some truth to it he is a hell of a player. Finished the game with 4 sacks and keep in mind they are moving him around. A guy who has worked with him in the past feels like he can play off the ball as well.
  12. I’m watching IMG vs The First Academy(TFA) in Orlando and he has 2 sacks and a TFL in the first half. They move him around. I was hoping he would suck but he can play. There is so much talent in this game. TFA is on the rise. A lot of D1 talent in the pipeline.
  13. Now that Isaiah Bond won’t face charges the Cowboys should sign him as a free agent. Make it happen Jerry.
  14. He is the best WR in high school regardless of classification.
  15. Keep an eye on Brandon Lafell Jr. son of the former LSU WR. He has already picked up D1 offers.
