Its funny but when we lived in Houston, I would have never ever gone to a city pool. Austin's got a different thing going on with its pools, depending on where you are.
My office is a few short blocks from Ramsey Pool in Rosedale. Come summertime it opens up and is a great place to jump in for a swim in what is some of the cooler pool water in Austin. They use a big aerator thing to recirculate the water and, man, it could be 100 degrees and that water feels great. I'll walk from my office and take a quick swim for lunch. Its amazing, clean and free.
Its very old school, a bit run down (bathrooms are a time capsule) and quiet but its perfect. You have to envy the people who are lucky to live right along Ramsey Park. Place must be a perfect summer job for neighborhood kids.
Took swimming lessons there as a kid. Looks exactly the same today. Crenshaw's used to be just across the street.

It ain't the tools, it's the man who uses them.

Does the UTPD have adequate resources to "control" the number of people that gathered?
That campus greeter featured in the LHN commercials could have handled it all by himself.

The good news is that if AI learns enough about aggy, it will never be able to destroy humanity.

I didn’t t realize that Sorrell Brooke, the guy who played Boss Hogg in The Dukes of Hazzard, was fluent in French, Latin, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, German, Greek and Italian, and knew a decent bit of Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Dutch, Persian, Polish, and Swedish.
Now I want to hear Boss Hogg say "Rosco, that road better be shut down tighter than a tick's ass!" in every one of those languages.

Angry Bevo should step lightly, or Looch is gonna dare him to come down and meet up man to man.
Do you know what man Billy will be bringing with him?

I loved Valentina's. Always good at the trailer. Always good at the Austin FC games. They struggled from day one when they opened the new, large location in Buda. I've been to the Buda joint three times. First time was excellent. Second time was embarrassing. Final time was just okay.
It's hard to stay up and running when you have to stop stealing your employees' tips.

This reads a lot like how aggies justify how great College Station is, mostly by describing how close it is to other, better places.
And they have their own Elko.

Someone screwed up not doing fried walleye. It's a supper club staple and also delicious.
As someone whose dad was from Minnesota, I must say walleye is delicious.

My ex-wife did English show jumping. Whenever I would go out to the stables with her, everyone was amazed at how calm the difficult horses were with me.
"Well, they know I have no intention of riding them."
