Moffitt is actually excellent. I've watched some of his online strength clinics.  This was a good get by Elko.

I read the thread at Tiger droppings regarding Moffit and those guys are split. Many agreed he had gone down hill, some thought it was because he is old and others think it was due to Orgeron's lack of team discipline. Those in favor think OL and DL will get stronger others think he will not be anything special anymore. Most agree the hire is due to an inferiority complex and wanting LSU to rub off on aggy.

This UW team is really hard to figure out.  They basically play barely good enough to win, regardless of how good or bad the opponent is.

I think a lot of this depends on just how good Oregon really is.  If Oregon truly is as good as all their so-called advanced metrics say they are, then this UW team must be pretty good.  Even Booger said himself that UW dominated on both lines in the Pac-12 championship game.  But then he later said UW does not play big boy football.  So doesn't sound like he even listens to himself talk.

If Oregon is grossly overrated, then Texas will have an easy game.

Booger did not say they can't play big boy football. He said he is not sure if they are ready to play big boy football because they have not played lines like those that Michigan, Alabama and Texas have. He said if they can't then that will be their weakness.

Went to the Sugar Bowl against VaTech.  The upper levels there aren’t terrible like modern NFL stadiums.  We had the shittiest seats possible and it was fine.

How things have changed, I got 2 tickets on the 50 yard line for $10.00 plus a two beers from the six pack I was carrying around. The scalper was all wet and just wanted to go home since he sold them to me a few blocks away from the stadium. I think I offered $20.00 and he took less just to get the beers. Back in the day he could have asked for the 6 pack and it still would have been a discount. One never knows why people do what they do. They were on the first or second row of the upper deck.

They’re going all in on this “blue-collar” and “tough” mantra. This is going to fail so spectacularly but I’m going to enjoy every second of it.

Yup that right there is what they teach you to do when building a team that performs highly inside an organization.

It takes some real bias to think Elko is hiring a great staff.  They haven't made a single hire yet that makes me go "that's a really good hire."

They say we have the formula but it is not what they think. The formula is holding coaches accountable for Shawn Watson or Todd Orlando type hires.  At aggy the coach is all knowing until he is not and they get rid him that same year no matter what it cost.

They are blaming all their problems on Jimbo. Completely overlooking the reality that their athletic department hired him, signed an outrageous contract and extension, fired him, bungled the new hire, and now apparently The Elk is too busy eating chicken fried steak to get out and recruit players and coaches. But it’s all Jimbo’s fault!

Blasphemy chicken fried steak is what we all eat when we are recruiting out of the portal. It should never be associated with aggy recruiting. We know you are new so you are OK this one time.

Well, the point was that you guys have 4 and 5 star players subbing in for injuries, which seems like a pretty decisive advantage.  And it showed in UW's games when they had players out or sick.  That was the whole point of the post.

Great coaching and schemes can make NFL draft picks.  Doesn't equal NFL talent though.  Look at John Ross and Jake Locker.  Both top 10 picks but did absolutely nothing in the NFL.  Not sure why you guys are always so confrontational to people trying to add some insight.

But yes, players can be developed to be better than their star ratings, which is all subjective anyway.  NFL talent is directly correlated to the play style system fits.   I was just saying raw athlete talent seems to be decidedly in your favor, which is especially important in injury and depth situations.

Well we do have a 3* that won the Outland trophy.

I hope their players read Hard Core Huskies. it's completely delusional, which isn't to say WA won't win, they just lack rational thought and sound judgment and act like a bunch of fucking hyenas. reminds me of USC fans in 2005 - they lack the SEER and they lack the over confident we are USC instead they are still begging folks to respect them. I wish the media would suck WA off to make the motivation even better but the media seems to know what they are talking about.

I don't think much of Booger McFarland as a commentator but today he surprised me on Always College Football on how concisely he expressed why every one of these teams in the playoffs can lose because they are all flawed. First he ranked the teams and concisely pointed to their flaws in about 30 seconds.

    1. Texas - Susceptible secondary

    2. Alabama - Can QB make the throws if the other team makes them one dimensional

    3. Michigan - JJ Mccarthy is to damn inconsistent

    4. Washington - Unproven against big boy football and lacking talent compared to the other three. I assume on the lines.

His comments are towards the end of his interview because I was scrolling past him but I missed it by just a little.

Well I guess when you are in Athens in a state that probably in comparison to todays SEC members has more money other then aggy, I can see how they feel they probably can take over a stadium. I guess they did not learn from the Sugar Bowl because they did not want to be there. They are going to get to play Texas and we will not be like aggy in which October has arrived and their season is over. So just ask Alabama's Will Anderson how it is in Austin.
