  1. that was a fucking awesome finish.  i had thought Fierceness might be the next coming of American Pharoah but obviously not.  Sierra Leone looks like the best of them to me.  My guess is he's the favorite in the Belmont.

Love Sierra Leone, and love closers for no other reason than I like watching them pick off horses as the turn on the jets. Having said that, I'm not sure I trust Sierra Leone to navigate the traffic, and while this is one of the more wide open Derby's in my opinion, Fierceness is just an absolute machine. I don't like his post, but he checks all the boxes, BSF, BP, RAN, final fractions etc

yeah the more i've looked into it the more i think Fierceness is probably just too good.  Leaning Fierceness over some combinition of Sierra Leone, Just a Touch, and Catching Freedom.

I’m afraid the decision to not let Boehm start the last inning is going to be the difference in this game

didn't make any sense not to give him the ball at the very top of the inning if you were going to bring him in as soon as you got in to trouble.

appreciate you doing this.  assuming the nets pick stays at #9, i'd be good with any of the guys listed #7-10 here.

Sadly I probably would have missed that. I did see "NuthinButDahorns34" educate everyone that mock drafts are just predictions, and not something that has happened yet. Perhaps I should rethink my stance, and just consider that place a comedy gold mine.

i'm with you man. i love what Bobby and Gerry are doing with the YouTube channel, but their site just isn't for me.  nothing wrong with that.

  6. I'm not sure if May 1st qualifies as the beginning of the dog days of the offseason or not (my personal opinion is that the end of the College World Series and NBA Finals in mid to late June begins the true dog days), but either way I figure we're close enough and we've seen enough offseason player movement where we can start somewhat seriously discussing expectations for the 2024 season.  I think we are all pretty high on this program and we have big expectations for 2024.  My personal expectation is a 10-2 regular season record, a playoff appearance, and at least one win in the playoff.  If we get all that, it will be hard for me to see the season as anything other as a success.  At least that's how I see it 4 months from kickoff.

    What say you?

Ha I just looked they have the lottery on Sunday this year?  WTF?  It's always been on a Tuesday well except for the COVID year when it was bumped out 3 months and held on a Thursday.

wow i didn't know that either.  i also just discovered that the draft is going to be split into two nights this year - one for the first round and the other for the second.  will be interesting to see how well the secod round rates as a stand alone event.

hopefully that would do away with the blackout restriction bullshit that currently plagues the league pass experience.

  9. espn.com has a round 2 mock up:

Mitchell to New England at #34

Brooks to Las Vegas at #44

    Sweat to Dallas at #56

    Sanders to Houston at #59

should be an exciting 2nd round tonight!
