  1. Good comeback by the Cavs to get their first playoff series win without LeBron since 1993. Very important win for the team to help convince Mitchell to stay another 4 years. He's the closest thing they will get to a Superstar this decade, so they need to hang on to him. If they can take 2 from Boston, I'll be happy, but would love to see the upset and rematch with the Knicks. Gonna need Allen back, so let's hope he's OK before game 1, or it's gonna be ugly. That 93 Cavs team beat the Nets, and went on to get steamrolled by the Bulls in the second round. It was a good team with Larry Nance, Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Craig Ehlo, Steve Kerr, Danny Ferry and Hotrod Williams, but that early 90s team ran into the Bulls a few times and got wrecked. Let's hope this version of the Cavs can do better.
  2. I really hope Mitchell doesn't bail on this team, he's really fun to watch and clearly the best player they have. Put a healthy Jarrett Allen on the floor and they would be a tough out for anyone.
  3. Down 10 at the half doesn't seem so bad now, lot of work to do to come back.
  4. They already had Cousins under contract, why on earth would they need to spend a top 10 pick on another QB? If you really think Cousins is going to get hurt that easily, don't give him that deal or pick the 2nd best OT in the draft to protect him. Having a backup QB is important, but literally nobody spends a 1st on it only to be a Plan B. They could have done a lot of other things, like picking Rattler in the 4th instead. That's where a normal team picks a backup QB, not 8th overall.
  5. Tied with the Angels for 4th in the division, and 5 games back from the Mariners in first. Keep plugging away and winning against the division, and they should be right up there by the end of the month.
  6. Gotta love seeing a little kick out on a 3pt shot negating a made bucket because the ref calls the shooter for the foul.
  7. Oh and Wagner flops a lot and seems like a bitch.
  8. The refs are really letting them play tonight. Lots of collisions not getting a whistle, lots of moving screens on both sides. If the Cavs could hit a 3 consistently, this game would be over by now, but here we are. Really missing Jarrett Allen tonight, they are getting killed on the boards and down low, Niang should not be playing this much.
  9. Cavs with a 15-4 run to start the 3rd, real nice coming out of the half.
  10. Loperfido in LF, Tucker up to #2, Bregman slides back to #4. Glad to see some more lineup changes instead of stubbornness. Bregs should probably go down a few more spots, but whatever, at least there is some awareness and attempt to make things better.
  11. Singleton played really well this series and deserves some love. Let Vic platoon with him and Diaz and we should be fine there.
  12. "You’re a real tough fucking guy huh?" lol
  13. I dunno if I would call any offense headed by Kirk Cousins "awesome" but they would be a lot better having any player on the field instead of a very expensive backup QB. I still can't believe they didn't work a trade with the Vikings or Broncos to go back a few spots and pickup a 3rd. 3-4 spots back to 11/12 is worth about that much, and they could have gotten more by playing them against each other. Then they could have traded back more to get more picks and fill out their roster.
  14. I don't see how that isn't blocking the plate under the new rules. The catcher clearly kneels down into the batters box area before he has the ball, and the runner looked safe anyway. Just look at this frame with the ball still not in the glove yet:
  15. There was this gem of a play by Joey, who appears to be one of our OFs of the future.
  16. Funny thing about the Clips/76ers situations is that the Harden trade actually gave the 76ers a some more flexibility this offseason by dumping PJ Tucker's 11.5m on LAC. The 76ers have 4 guys under contract for a total of 63m, and Maxey is an RFA. Obviously they need to give Maxey the max extension, but before they do, he only counts as a 13m cap hold. This may give the 76ers an opportunity to snag a guy like Paul George in free agency. I would not be surprised to see PG bail on LAC, unless they can convince a bunch of guys to squad up for cheap, like Harden, Westbrook, Lebron, etc. The 76ers could also chase some other names that will likely be getting some large sized contracts like Siakam, Derozan, Bruce Brown, OG Anunoby or maybe even Lebron. They could possibly use cap space to trade and absorb a big contract too, lean into that shithead mentality that Embiid tends to exude, and go get Draymond from Golden State. And while we're on random free agency topics, I think the Spurs should go after Tyus Jones this offseason. They need a selfless point guard to help run the offense, and I think he would be a good fit. He's a really good 3pt shooter, distributor and ball handler, which would compliment that offense very well. Plus he's still young at 27 years old, so a 4 year deal wouldn't be too risky for them. He played pretty well on a terrible Wizards team this season, and despite having to work with the shit roster they had, he was still a bright spot. Just think what he could do with some decent coaching and teammates that aren't selfish chuckers. I think it would be fun to see Harden and Westbrook come to Houston on cheap deals and group up with their young players. The Rockets could try to trade FVV+stuff to the Suns for KD, assuming the Suns see the light at the end of the tunnel is fading, begin rebuilding and ship Booker off somewhere else. It would be fun to see those guys together with Sengun, Adams, Jabari and a bunch of supporting players.
  17. Late game tonight is Clips/Mavs for a pivotal Game 5 at 9pm CST. Whoever loses this series is probably going to be making a lot of big changes in the offseason, so a lot on the line. Winner gets to play a very young and inexperienced OKC, which should be a good series either way.
