  1. At that number someone just might be willing to take a chance and see if he an be a star for them. Even if he blows up they wont have to worry about him asking for max pay for another couple yrs of him proving he's worthy
  2. I do like what Gobert brings to them and it would be hard to find a guy to replace that but yeah 40M/yr for Gobert is ..............a lot
  3. Their every whim is catered to from the time they are about 12-13. Rarely told no
  4. 100% this. They are loaded and ready to dominate. Just need time together. As long as none of the guys that will stepping back a little bit (mainly Levert) are going to be malcontents there is no reason to move them.
  5. Yep, this has been one of the better stories of 2020. Really happy that Cuban stepped up and went and got him.
  6. Timmy was an asst with Pop until last season. He was reportedly always around practice prior to finally joining the staff.
  7. I LOVE AI. He wanted to win and gave his everything to doing so.....................BUT he was only willing to play his way which was not exactly conducive to winning.
  8. And I'm saying it could be either. LOL. I wouldn't rule out Morey having someone out there doing it.
  9. The quotes came from member of the previous coaching staff. I dont know that they are now associated with Morey/PHI but its possible.
  10. Man that article is pretty wild. Seems the HOU folks would wait until after they traded him to allow those quotes to get out. I imagine teams that are doing their work already know most of it though. Can't do much to help their chances of getting the haul that they claim to want for him
  11. I hope this is just a bad angle or a doctored pic. If not, this isnt a good sign. Shawn Kemp post-strike vibes.
  12. Yeah it sucks though. Dude aint even signed the deal yet to stay and there was at least one person talking about him forcing his way out.
  13. Clips would still be able to offer him more as they could do 8% raises annually with early Bird rights vs 5% annually for another team but that would definitely wash out (and then some) in the difference between CA and FL taxes A team may re-sign its early qualifying veteran free agent using the Early Qualifying Veteran Free Agent Exception (i.e., by using its “Early Bird” rights). That player: (i) may get a salary up to the greater of (a) 175% of the player’s salary in the last season of the prior contract, or (b) 105% of the average player salary for the prior season; (ii) may have his compensation increase (or decrease) each season by 8% (instead of 5%); and (iii) must have a contract covering at least 2 years, not including any option year (and 4 years is the max length of the contract). https://cbabreakdown.com/salary-cap-exceptions
  14. Actually, you are correct. Clips wont have Bird rights on him after two yrs. They would have early Bird rights. Need to do some more reading to see what advantage that would give them, if any. He could go 4/196 w/Clips if he opts out next summer. He could go full 5 yr supermax equivalent if he opts out after yr 3 as he would have 10 yrs in and qualify for the full 35% of the cap.
  15. I was HIGHLY skeptical of him honestly. He seemed like an asshole and he came as a package with his dad so I wanted no parts of him on my team. He may bust but he was never gonna go way down where you are saying. EVERY mock had him at minimum top 3. Not saying they cant all be wrong but he was never making it past 5
  16. Good stuff. I never saw him as the one to jump ship. Glad that is done and we can stop talking about him going wherever.
  17. It may wash out but what he would get signing with MIA would be less than what he could get from the Clips.
  18. Meh, the draft kinda sucked honestly. All of them had warts. He has great basketball IQ. A 6'7" PG that can get guys easy buckets could definitely be useful. If he can get his shot together, he'll be fine.
