only the pilots on board,

somehow the pilots seem to have survived...

As of right now, both pilots are alive, but in serious condition

I think this one of a very few times where a full a commerical plane has landed in water where the pilots survived.

honestly the only other 2 times I can remember that happening are the Miracle on the Hudson, and the Ethiopian 737 that was hijacked and forced to fly to Australia (the pilots didnt have the fuel for that journey so they hugged the African East Coast) and then ditched in the Comoros islands.

July 2, 2021 – Transair Flight 810 – One engine on the Boeing 737-200 cargo aircraft failed en route from Honolulu to the neighboring Hawaiian island of Maui. The crew attempted to turn back to Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, but the plane's second engine overheated, forcing the two pilots onboard to ditch the airplane about 4 miles (6.4 km) off the southern coast of Oahu. Both pilots were rescued by the United States Coast Guard.[77]
