Rumors that Maddison is done for the season.

Quote from Ange today, from The Athletic

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou says James Maddison’s knee injury is “not looking promising” after he missed Sunday’s draw with West Ham United.

“No, it doesn’t look great, but we’re just waiting for further information,” the Spurs head coach said. “We’ll just wait and see. We’ll probably get some clarity tomorrow. But fair to say, it’s not looking promising. But I’ll just wait and see.”

Solanke: “Dom’s improving, we obviously left him out today, but the medical team are pretty confident he should be OK for Thursday,” Postecoglou added.

Sonny: Captain Son Heung-min has also missed his side’s last six games with a foot injury, and Postecoglou said on Friday the forward was making positive progress ahead of Thursday’s second leg, but was yet to return to full training.

It really depends on two things:

1. How long is Mads on the shelf? If he's only out the summer, then maybe tap the brakes on that, even if it's just a few weeks into the season, not so bad.

2. What does the team do in Europa? The budget is going to significantly change if they win it or they don't. And it also factors into the workload of the team next year.

I say hold up before making any decisions because you need to know what the team is going to be playing next year.
