this is not a trap

post or pm if you are thinking about contacting an erp vendor and/or need to move from quickbooks

my advice might be free depending on your siuation

a lot of replies will be by pm but i will try to answer here based on reasons

- age of your company

- complexity of your chart of accounts

- size of your database re: # of customers, # of skus/products

- how many people in your accounting department

- future growth prospects

- does the business need to be prepared to acquire or be acquired

I fear the day we have to do any kind of migration 

the only benefit I guess is according to our customers, that moves you to Net 5000 terms. “Oh, we moved to a new system”

in my experience with system implementations, don't let some employees, especially long term ones, provide requirements. Many of them will want the new system customized to work EXACTLY the same as the system you're leaving. They have little concept of improved processes and they want their job/work to remain the same.

however, they are the ones who know all of the corner cases

there is an alternative approach which is now even more important as humans resist the threat of ai

the entire business world, especially the fucked up tech industry, and multi-generational family-owned businesses, are about hit a wall of their own making, with regards to this topic
