That’s surprising as Baptists are often very understanding and forgiving people.

In 2007 they would forgive you for dumping aquarium water from the 3rd floor unto an unsuspecting resident hall director, but they threw a witch hunt for putting your friend's face on a fake LGBTQ club poster and posting it all over campus.  Their silly priorities.

A buddy just went to orientation with his daughter at Baylor reported back that if you have less than 75% attendance in any class it's an automatic F.

This is university wide policy apparently.

Well, this is my specialty as I majored in deadbeatery at Baylor.

On Tues/Thurs classes you can miss 7 and on Mon/Wed/Fri you can miss 11 or you get an autofail. The trick is that while that's a university policy, there is no requirement by the prof to take attendance. I was able to graduate with a solid 2.33 while only failing one semester of chapel (stopped going halfway though) and passing the rest of my classes with at least a D. Knowing which professors to take and which ones not to take is half the battle.

Once you get into your selected major though then it becomes a necessity to take a course with a hardass or two. I found the best policy there was to miss 5 Tues/Thurs or 9 Mon/Wed/Fri classes in the first month and a half or so to rest up and then save one or two for an unexpected absence near the end.

My MIL passed away in June and hospice gave my wife a pamphlet on the stages of death that was disturbingly accurate.  Granted she was bedridden and had dementia so she was further along than Trump but the thin skin that would tear on touch and bruising from a mild breeze were signs death was 3-4 months out.

    Spoiler

I remember in my grandmother's last month of her life she way staying by herself at my parents' house for a few hours and I went over to make sure she was doing ok. She needed help getting off the couch, so I grabbed her hand and in doing so a few inches of skin just came right off into my hands. That's a fun memory to have.

  4. I would say to catch a Girondins game if you're there during the season, but they got sent down to the 4th division for financial troubles. It might still be interesting to catch a game as Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux is nice.

I don't know shit about fuck, but when I was looking for seats on the resale market last year, it looked pretty damn solid. I couldn't justify the cost for any of the seats I'd wanna sit in.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The prices don't really look that bad on a per game basis, so I figured it was worth a shot. The FO sent a standard email and haven't responded to me questions yet so maybe everything is close to full up already.

    Mexico City

Mexico City is a great choice for culture and we've done it with success on a 3-day. Monterrey is another easy choice from DFW for a quick flight and Mexican culture. For beaches, you could easily do Costa Mujeres with a good deal on a 3-day that would be relaxing.

  7. Both vacations (Mexico & Canada) are done for the year so it's back to saving season. Wife's teacher bonus is a nice $13K this year coming in a few weeks which will push her to over $80K after her stipends. She is looking for a career change, but that's not bad money for only her 5th year teaching in Texas and not in DFW, Houston, or Austin. She's going to max out the IRA for the year and stick the rest in our HYSA to keep us at around a year's worth there.

One little thing that I've enjoyed doing outside of our retirement accounts is buying about $50/day of O just for income and slowly adding bills that are paid off of the monthly dividend. It would be better in the long run to stick it in an index fund, but I enjoy seeing the more immediate results while the retirement accounts cook.

Anyone able to speak on the medical marijuana vs consumable hemp stories going on after the governor veto? I thought I saw under the compassionate use rules 90 day “chronic pain” was added. Chronic pain has been a very elastic circumstantial barrier in Texas with regards to absentee voting. Was curious how doctor visits/proof may affect this, if at all, as it wasn’t required for voting.

PTSD is already on there and the websites claiming to get you your card make it seem like, without saying it, that pretty much anyone could qualify.

New shit has come to light...

There is a fan conspiracy floating around the internet that the female was a Univ of Utah student and this was a setup to get him suspended. In other words, force him to claim the sex was consensual to get him suspended, and now drop the case. Sounds like bullshit, but that would be some next level skullduggery.

    I mean, I'd believe it.
