  1. Speaking of a player I wish we had on this past season's team, Jaylon Tyson might have fucked around and played himself into a first round pick out at Cal. Players like him are why it's at times ok to be patient with a players growth curve.
  2. Yeah I get the sense that Gerry isn't as tapped into the ongoings of Texas basketball as was in the past.
  3. Jordan Hawkins of last year's UConn team. Super compact game (ie doesn't need a lot of dribbles to get off a short), highly efficient scorer.
  4. Mitchell was consistently knocking down that 15 footer for the first half to 3 fourths of the year, and then he went 0fer for the last part of the year.
  5. Wait a second, Im starting to get it now. You're under the belief that the more frequently you rant about it here, the more likely it is that RT will be fired.
  6. No love for DJ Augustin or Isaiah Taylor? Or are you unfamiliar with who they are.
  7. All things being equal, I kinda like having good offense vs having a good defense. I'd much rather be a fan of a team that plays like Arizona or Gonzaga as opposed to UofH or Tennessee.
  8. This is quite the reversal. 15 months ago you inundated me with a wall of text claiming that Mitchell would unquestionably be a 1st round pick in LAST YEAR'S DRAFT.
  9. More than any other sport, a true home court advantage can add multiple games to the win column. Beard understood this and worked harder than any other Longhorn coach in my collective fandom to develop and facilitate it. Too bad he went dumb that one night. Barnes probably adds 3 or 4 more top 4 seeds to his Texas tenure with a true and consistently intimidating home court advantage.
  10. Abmas had 4 TOs and 2 early fouls. We were sort of running out of options as far as taking Hunter off the court.
  11. Who specifically regressed this season? Name the players you're referring to.
  12. Disu pulling a full 180 from his tourney performance last season was crucial. He ended the season as a 50%+ 3pt shooter yet only hit one 3 during the tourney.
  13. I dont. I actually like good offense.
  14. I disagree with Gerry on Hunter and feel he's being a little too emotional in his analysis. RT needs to keep Hunter and maintain some aspect of the culture he's built here and add some savvy amd composure to the backcourt to team up with Hunter and Tre.
  15. Shaka finally assembled a enough high IQ guards to make up for the lack of discipline he instills in his teams.
  16. Hunter is fine as long as he's not the primary ball handler. Abmas just couldn't consistently get by anyone and was a surprisingly poor distributor. That plus his many defenses lapses made him him a relatively poor pairing alongside Hunter. While not PGs both Johnson III and Scott will have some ball handling responsibilities akin to that of Jabari Rice. What we need is a high quality ball distributor to add to the backcourt and a high quality interior scorer to pair with them. If we can get any quality contribution out of Chris Johnson and Devon Prior next year to go along with Weaver and the freshmen gone are the days of having midgets fielding our back court and wings.
  17. We need to find a diamond in the rough like Dalton Knecht. How the hell that kid went an entire 4 years before playing high major basketball is beyond me. He's going to be a 10 year NBA pro.
  18. Why don't you go back to giving us your view of RT's elocution.
  19. I love this time of year when people who watched maybe 5 games all season decide to give their vapid takes on what needs to be done.
  20. All that space they play with has turned Lampkin into a poor man's Jokic. He delivering passes left and right.
  21. LOL I was just about to type the same thing. Colorado seriously underperformed given their talent level. They have seemingly five 6'8" guys who can all pass, dribble, and shoot.
  22. Colorado is a lot more skilled than I imagined. That da Silva kid is extra nice.
  23. I remember being shocked that Westbrook was so highly sought after by the NBA. His skillset at the time he was drafted was similar to what we see from Weaver. He was basically a slasher who barely handled the ball outside of wheeling in from the wings. Darren Collinson and even Josh Ship were their main ball handlers that year.
  24. He needs to improve his handle and perhaps his composure on the offensive end. He gets ahead of himself at times, but if anyone remembers Russell Westbrook at UCLA, Weaver reminds me a lot of him. Just a spaz of loosely controlled energy, especially during Westbrook's freshman season.
  25. Muthafuckers are delusional.
