There are MANY quality options between Texas and the joke that is Arkansas. Your nephew is not bright.

Unless you are a psychopath, no one with kids would say shit like that to another parent. Nor should they. But given you nearly hyperventilated at the thought of not getting another dt, I’m strongly considering you might be on the spectrum

We are about to get a transfer and this board becomes a little downy. Well, I'm not down with that.

Sometimes as Texas fanatics, we struggle with brokering multiple seemingly opposing thoughts in our brain about Arkansas. Fayetteville is a pretty nice place. Especially if you like the outdoors and golf. The Arkansas football team can go fuck itself and I hope all 85 players simultaneously tear an ACL tomorrow. The school, especially the business school is a pretty good school given the amount of corporate money that has been poured in. The famous alumni and boosters who run that football program can all catch AIDs as far as I’m concerned and die a slow death. And not the good AIDS either that you get when your condom breaks in Mardi Gras. The really nasty kind you get when you share needles in a Baltimore back alley.

They landed the top women’s transfer too for girls hoops.  College softball will be fine.  Don’t ask about men’s hoops.  Kthxbye

I’m curious to see what they do in gymnastics. Women’s gymnastics especially is on a Nick Saban like run of dominance. That sport can be flipped by 1-2 people just like basketball so NIL could change everything for them if they are robbing that sport to buy a defensive tackle.

Yes, I stand by what i said in context. That's the only game, aside from Georgia which is just concerning generally, where I'm particularly worried about our interior defensive line being exposed. They won the Joe Moore award two years running and had a terrific OL again last year. I'm not quite ready to say their OL will be weak next year, as they've reloaded each year recently, and Donovan Edwards is a very good back.

We play Oklahoma, Arkansas and A&M away from Austin. Those mother fuckers will all treat those as jihad games and make or break their season on the Texas game. There will be plenty of games to be worried about.

Read the thread, it's hyperbolic about the classlessness of Sanders and how his programs are just minutes away from total meltdown and failure. The "no one came to their spring game" thing is just one example of absolute blindness to reality, similar to the handwringing about dumping roster bread and Twitter decorum.

28k showed up in horrible weather (and paying higher prices) to watch a 4-8 team with a massive roster churn and a coach whose dance move has showing his ass to the world for the last 30 years. That's a fantastic number for Colorado even with perfect weather. They had 1100 show up in 2022.

Regarding our sanctimony and our hallowed coaching staff...

Here's what I give a shit about with Jeff Banks:
    - Does he recruit good?
    - Does his unit play good?
    - Live boy/dead girl?
    - Beating his wife?

Know what I don't give a fuck about? Doctor of Neighborhood and Pole Assassin

And there's Sark himself and his history.

    - Is Colorado's program stronger today than it was before Deion took over?
    - Do they have a more talented roster than they had before he took over?
    - Are they bursting with crime and real scandal? (not fucking social media cancellation drama)
    - Are they better on the field today than they were before he took over?

    Perspective. It's not hard.

This or him finding his way onto a coaching staff so he can rub Shedeur's shoulders in the NFL.

I negged you for bringing up Sark’s past problems as if they have anything to do with this topic. Even if it somehow did, it would go against the point you are trying to make. No one cares about perception or the personal behavior of a coach until it bleeds into how they coach and manage a program. Deion is a a shameless, self promoting whore and that’s not what has people pointing and laughing. It’s the complete and total mismanagement of his roster and culture  that people are seeing as signs that he is steering that program right to the cliff.

I said it from the beginning- this is just Daddyball executed at the highest level ever. He won't be there beyond this season, he won't be taking another job and he will leave a smoldering pile of ashes as he blames everyone else for the unmitigated disaster he created

He is recruiting like someone who doesn’t plan on being there next year. He’s signing players out of the portal sight unseen then cutting them after they get on campus. He is just trying to patch together enough serviceable talent to showcase his son and that’s about it.

In actuality, Zeke is costing the Cowboys $9M for the 2024 season. The Cowboys will still be eating $6M in dead cap from his previous contract.

The dead cap is a sunk cost and has nothing to do with what it cost them in 2024.  The question is he worth 3M or not to bring back.

Hit rate based solely on 2nd contract is silly. How many of those players were really good, and left as free agents because they were in demand?

unless there’s also data somewhere that says OL move teams is big free agents as often as wrs do.

If WR’s are available that often for their second contract, it also supports not drafting them. Even if you assume everyone who is drafted is not a bust but simply leaves via free agency, it still supports the same conclusion. Offensive lineman are harder to find in free agency or they have a higher hit rate for the team drafting them.

Yes cool. But the problem is the team has gotten worse since the playoff loss. If we were adding to that team then this might be all good. But we let Tyron walk and Stephon walk and pollard walk and so on and so fucking forth. We got demolished by Green Bay because we had no diggs and no lbers. We should be getting diggs back, adding cooper, and adding Beebe to last years team. Next year is gonna suck, and we’re “all in” on that for sure. Which is cool, just expect it. Let’s let Dak and McCarthy walk, bring in belicheck, and go to a model where we pay all players but QBs. Keep a qb on a rookie deal then let him walk or trade him for picks when he’s good. Fuck it

What does any of that have to do with the draft? My comment was about the draft grade and analyzing what we did in the draft.

The wide range of grades reflects the general stupidity of draft analysts as they all criticize. Yet a lot of them are praising the stupidity of the falcons.

Drafts are only rightfully judged three years out. Lots of folks criticized Frederick, Tyron Smith, and Zack for a variety of reasons. There were local beat writers who thought Jimmy fucked up by taking Aikman over mandarich. Thought Emmitt was a reach.

These days there are very few o linemen, especially tackles, who come in plug in Ready. The college game doesn’t prepare them for the speed, the complexity of blitzes, the multitude of blocking schemes, etc. you have to look at film for basic talent and attributes, brains and aptitude, interviews, attitude. I think Guyton and Beebe are what you look for, but until they play, and any other o lineman plays, you just don’t know.

Interestingly enough, the historical data says you should draft OL in the first round. Those sexy WR picks?

One reason Rattler fell in draft...

He is also still a front running cunt today. That and the fact that he kind of sucks is probably why he fell in the draft.

  12. The guy we took at the 29th pick, which most services had projected as a first round pick was not a reach. Our second round pick was projected to go in the second round. Our third pick was projected to go in the 2nd or 3rd round. This wasn’t a classic Jerry Jones special taking guys before their projection because he just fell in love with them.

I wish we had taken a RB with our second pick in the third round and found a linebacker somewhere else through free agency or trade. That’s my biggest critique. But we all knew OL was a bigger priority so I cannot complain about the first and third pick.

"NFL Draft winners & losers 2024: Vikings part of strong NFC North showing, Cowboys among disappointments"

The Vikings depleted a lot of draft capital to take a QB who has limited game film. An act of pure desperation. But that’s “winning” the draft? If JJ is not a sure fire starter, that’s going to be one of the biggest flops in recent memory. But by all means, go ahead and call them a draft winner without even knowing if the future they just mortgaged was worth it.
