  1. I forgot to mention - Mr Rogue has been a die hard longhorns fan for decades and part of the conditions to have him advertise here included him cancelling his orange bloods membership, because fuck Fat Geoff Ketchum lol

  2. I may or may not be anxious about my family descending on my household for Easter, but I no longer have to worry about that pesky anxiety because @MrRogue and his company - Rogue Shop have the right stuff to help me get over it. As most of you know I don't really let just anyone become a sponsor, and through conversations with @MrRogue I think he's going to be adding quite a bit to the community. He is going to be around all over the board, but also in this thread to answer any questions that anyone might have. Here's some high-level details about our newest sponsor: It's a husband/wife outfit, as @MrRogue and his wife Shar (no pics, yet) are craft cannabis farmers, who specialize in small batch, artisanal plant medicine. They went all in and learned how to grow from some of the best in the industry and went off on their own and take the entire process very seriously. Cannabis has a lot of use especially in alternative medicine rooted in natural plants. Rogue Shop has natural remedies that help people who have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, or anxiety or many other mood disorders related to stress. They also have some really fantastic options for pain management for those who have chronic or nagging pain. LEGAL THC is the active ingredient in the majority of their products because THC has long been thought to block the pain receptors and take away most of your daily aches and pains, while elevating mood naturally, thus reducing anxiety and depression as well. The website to visit is www.rogueshop.com @MrRogue is a disabled war veteran and Sharmaine aka @MrsRogue runs the store in Eau Claire Wisconsin where she grows the indoor cannabis, hand makes most of their products and manages the retail dispensary. @MrRogue is going to find himself at home in the oil barons thread as he works half the year in Texas as a Petroleum engineer and the other half helping Shar run the store. The operation is completely family owned and operated. They sell Delta 8, Delta 9, CBD and HHC. All lab direct, custom formulated, and third party lab tested, they don’t use sketchy middle men. Some of the psychoactive products you can find at Rogue Shop are: 50 mg Gummies, 125 mg gummies, Moonrocks, Pre Rolls, Flower, Dab, Diamonds, Vape carts, Lollipops, hard candies and tinctures. On the health and wellness side, they sell pain creams, lip balms, bath soaks, hemp soap, CBD flower, CBD Hot Cocoa, cannabis terped tinctures/oils, lotions, facial toners, massage oils, and even vitamins. If you have a cannabis need that you don't see fulfilled from their shop, tag them and maybe they will work some magic and make it so. Surly Horns members get 10 percent off everything on the website with discount code: surlyhorns @MrRogue will post bigger discounts once a month through posts on the board so look out for pinned posts from Rogue Shop. I personally look forward to getting launched into space by our new cannabis overlords products.

  5. I have a feeling this thread will be updated a lot. We can start with this county refusing ti acknowledge the ATF. The ATF just needs to do it’s job so gun stores can open.

  10. This is when Missourians take up arms against the tyrannical state government that is infringing on their 2nd Amendment rights, right? I mean, this is the exact reason y'all need all those personal home arsenals, right? Don't be pussies. Do it.

  11. We were on our second honeymoon bopping around SW Mexico one week when the cartels weren't killing every man woman and child. Half the places we'd go, there was a group from a Missouri bible school (they wore tshirts saying so) who'd end up crossing our path. I wouldn't remember them except they were the most uniformly tall and obese tribe of White People I'd seen, even including times I'd been to Missouri. It was like somebody had placed HO scale people on an N scale train set-up. "But RD, you live in Birming-Ham-legs!" Yes. and we have our behemoths. But they are usually accompanied by a scattering of slimmer more nimble types, perhaps for tactical reasons, like infantry clearing woods for a Tiger tank. There is no such stunning conformity as those Missourians had. We never interacted with them, not on purpose, we never had a chance-- they tended to dart past in a line, on missions. We would watch them as if Hippos had charged past in the street. Finally, Mrs. Canecutter and I are sitting at an airport bar in Guadalajara and I'm drinking tequila with a scrap metal dealer who's flying off to buy some ship, and Missouri rumbles past, lining up for their plane. Again, we gaze in awe at their bigitude. One lad in their line, I guess he recognized me from all the near-misses, lifted a hand, and waved. Like a friend. And I, piece of shit, waved back.

  24. Every time I do this, I have regrets. Somewhere after peeling and a third of a way through deveining. But the fact is that a grilled shrimp is God’s perfect bite. Marinated in garlic, scallions, soy, honey, jalapeño, and oil? Yes. Glaze made out of rum, brown sugar, tomato paste, hot sauce, fish sauce, and spices? He Is Risen indeed. That was just the first plate.

  26. I don't know how often or how loud I have to say I HATE GUNS FUCK GUNS FUCK OPEN CARRY FUCK THE 2A NUTS.... however, go back and read the entire thread and there's a very strong theme of DTers blaming the law-abiding gun nut over the politically-motivated trumpkin with a gun looking to provoke a confrontation with peaceful demonstrators who were simply demanding social justice in the wake of George Floyd's murder. Don't open carry, but also don't concealed carry either. One guy was following the law and was murdered by another one not following the law. That, combined with the element of premeditated political violence on the part of the murderer, should be the focus here and not a slew of shameful victim-blaming.

  33. “People coming into contact with each other” isn’t the correct pool of encounters. The correct pool is “confrontations and/or reasonable opportunities for confrontations.” It’s not about gun guy 1 parking on aisle A at HEB and gun guy 2 parking in Aisle B and walking in the store at the same time. It’s about when gun guy 1 “steals” gun guy 2’s parking space. Or bumps him with his grocery cart. Or blocks the aisle while he waits for his wife to come out. And, even if the presence of a deadly weapon meant that there was some marginally lower chance of a confrontation escalating, it ALSO means that, for the people who are MORE likely to escalate…it escalates into a deadly confrontation instead of just an argument/fight. I don’t carry a gun not just because I’m not a cowardly pussy who has been conditioned by Fox News to believe that MS-13 is hiding under my car at HEB, but also because I know that not having a gun on me causes me to evaluate my tools completely differently. There is zero option for me to lose my temper and escalate shit while thinking “and it’s ok if it really gets ramped up, because I’ve got a Sig on my hip.” I avoid conflict. I de-escalate. For fuck’s sake, I have counter-protested actual armed real Nazis. They approached me from behind and tried to start shit, told me to turn around and argue. I refused. I stayed stock still, holding my sign, facing away from them. I gave them zero reason or excuse to escalate the situation with violence. I was conspicuously unarmed. They wanted a fight….but they had to have SOME provocation or excuse. I gave them none. And yes, I had some level of fear at that exact moment. Our worship of guns as the solution to every fucking problem is literally suicidal. Other countries don’t do this. Other countries don’t stack up their citizens’ bodies like we do. Only a madman would look at our way of doing things and say “yep, that’s the right way.”

  34. I just listened to Desantis’ book because I didn’t want to be accused of being uninformed. He is not a stupid man, he has talents. He has a deep seated rust belt working class racism, he is a connoisseur of Clarence Thomas’s asshole, keen hearing that can pick up the faintest of fascist dog whistles, and has read the Federalist papers. He’s a master negotiator who wouldn’t have been elected governor without trading his soul to trump, but that took away all his leverage against trying to resuscitate 1950s Walt Disney racism. If only those radical liberals would accept their lot in life and stop resisting that would stop the hate! I hope Disney buries him. He really believes all this George Soros Antifa shit too. I do, however, envy the Florida gubernatorial term limits. That would be great for Texas, hell, the whole nation. Trump is going to fuck him up.

  35. Tbh, I haven’t been out much since fall. I pumped last year’s remaining fuel out of the tank into Jerry cans and replaced with brand new gas. My FIL owns a shop with a 1,000 gallon oil/fluids/gas/nasty chemicals disposal/recycling tank so throwing the old gas away is uncomplicated. Bought a pint of live shrimp, got the boat wet, ran wide open for a half hour to make sure all was good with the motor and then commenced to knocking down a school of specks. Caught 12 up to about 23” Beautiful weather, nice afternoon and evening. My plan is to fish a lot of weekday afternoons this summer. Meetings in the morning, on the water by 4.

  36. I mean I care about all of y’all (most of surly which I think is pretty fucking generous of me) but like I cannot save all of your asses. I’m not John Wick…I’m just ridiculously good looking…I can’t fight some deranged serial killer that spikes men’s drinks and drowns them. Besides I’d have to tone down my hotness and blend in…this is asking too much. I’d stick out…the killer is just after y’all’s asses. Then this person would find me and wind up stalking me and then my brother (a surly member—not telling you who that is) and my cousin in law (also a surly member) and my longtime friend from Amarillo (also a surly)…and all the many friends I have made here would then end up forming a search party and have to post some sad ass thread in the DT (which will wind up with a sticky or in the fucking CR) “Nicole44 is missing: Please help” and that’s like not cool. Like y’all would form a search party to find me…not happening. And then it would be some Board Discussion thread on how I sucked as a poster and you’re glad I disappeared because I was too powerful (or just fucking bored and like to post long ass rambling posts like this one which is why I have bulletproof rep) to crowdsource. I mean…we all have to die sometime but I’d rather my demise not be at the hands of some other surly lurking here that probably is the serial killer just so y’all can high five each other when they finally find my severed head over by the snowcone concession at a shitty fair in Zilker park. You people ask too much! (Lulz)

  37. We are getting progressively closer to civil war with this. What Abbott is saying with this is that political murder is ok if you’re on Team Red. But that can go both ways. All it takes is the DA announcing that he may not prosecute anyone who shoots a Republican officeholder in Travis County, and it’s game fucking on. And frankly, anybody shooting Abbott would have a better claim of self-defense than Daniel Perry. Between his handling of Covid, the ongoing catastrophe that is DFPS, his insistence that criminals and lunatics have as many guns as they can carry, and his prevention of people getting the healthcare they need, Abbott has killed more Texans than Santa Anna.
