Its shit.
You're not wrong. Pretty flavorless. I have friends that won't know the difference.
There was a 50ml bottle of the Texas Ranger in the presentation box that wasn't too bad. With Larceny and McKenna 10 being easily available I don't see any reason to go looking for it.

It must not have been very good acid.
I don't know if it was good or bad but it scared the shit out of HS junior me.that concert is a blur to me.

I'm glad I didn't waste my dollars on it then. I'll probably set it on the counter and let friends put it in their colas. Or put it in my golfcart to entice the moochers.

I hope that somebody was able to archive the other thread. There were so many beautiful pictures there and all were interesting. I would hate to see all of that lost. This thread had a lot of very talented contributors.
Has HE migrated over? I'm a big fan of his work.

A co-worker just walked into my office and gave me a bottle of Rebecca Creek Texas Whiskey. I went to their website and they seem to talk more about using it in cocktails than drinking it straight. I don't remember if it was ever discussed earlier. Anybody have an opinion on it?

I saw Leon Russell play the Cotillion in Wichita quite a few times in the 70's. Just a short drive up from Tulsa. He isn't unappreciated.
I got to see Black Oak Arkansas and Head East on regular rotation back then as well. Ozark Mountain Daredevils too.

You're right, it makes no difference. I was 18 when I saw my first. Strict Mennonite upbringing.

I thought Biscuits and Groovy was Bozo. An Old Fashioned is my go to cocktail, but I prefer to make my own. It's amazing how many different methods bartenders use to build them. Around here anyway, most are pretty bad.

I'll be on my way to Ballinger in a couple of weeks. I plan on stopping in Albany at the Beehive, thanks to this thread. Thanks for bringing the map over here.

As long as Villanova beats KU I don't care what happens. Would be nice to see an MVC team take it all, I guess. I got to see WSU beat Loyola during the regular season in 1963, the year that the Ramblers won the Championship. Jerry Harkness vs Dave Stallworth was a fun game to watch. The Shockers were a Top 5 team that year but only league champs went to the tourney. #1 Cincinnati won the MVC.

Jefferson Airplane, 1970. Henry Levitt Arena, Wichita. First and only time I ever did acid.

I don't know why but I thought you were an old guy like me @South Austin. Maybe you are and just got a late start on concert going. Anyway, I saw PF in Arrowhead, KC during that same tour. Great show. They had mirrors all around the top of the stadium and started bouncing lasers off of them at the start of Momentary Lapse of Reason. Lasting memory.

Same one as before. Neil Armstrong's brother is a golf buddy. I have had the honor to play a couple of holes with them. Made a birdie and got a "nice putt" from NA.

If you order the dinner, it comes out on a different type of plate with sides you don't want. Just get the enchiladas with jalapenos, onions, and two eggs on top, with bread instead of tortillas. A side of fries if you're feeling lucky.
Thanks. This is what I was looking for.

I have been wanting to try one of those little casks but haven't purchased one yet. I was hoping to take Evan Williams and give it a bit more flavor. That's usually what I keep on my golfcart but I have replaced it recently with Larceny. That is some real bang for the buck.

I paid $35 for Weller 12 last week. I hardly ever see it around here so I didn't care. $99 is Vegas pricing. A friend just returned from the Bourbon Trail and brought me a bottle each of Blantons, ER 10, and Angels Envy. Of those three, Blantons is the only scare one here. We cracked the seal on his Blade and Bow and I.W. Harper 15, both of which were pretty good. I really liked the Harper but I have never seen it in any of the stores around here.

Great stuff, JJ. My daughter went through the vocal performance program at WSU and it taught me that there are a LOT of very talented college students out there.

Sorry if this has been covered/discussed elsewhere, but there's so damn much happening in so many different places that I can't keep up.
Do we know if the old site is going to stay up indefinitely? Or if not, is there a way to archive threads/entire forums? For instance, GM Steakhouse has always been a huge resource to me when planning trips, etc. Sucks if that all just disappears one day.
This. I didn't write down too many of the recipes, just plopped my tablet on the countertop. At least I copied the Mexican cornbread and gumbo recipes. I'm hoping somebody saved the small town road trip eats map.

I will do that. I was remembering that you had to order the dinner or somesuch to get it on a hot platter like the picture. I'm not going back to TOB to find the particulars.

I'm retiring in September so, yeah, I have a job. Doesn't mean I have to do anything.

I'm glad to see that this thread made it over quickly. I check it every day even though I'm not an alcoholic. Two of my golf buddies are in AA and I get a much clearer idea of what they have been through and what they are facing by reading this. Hopefully it enables me to be a better friend. Carry on.
