  1. Dan Murphy: College Sports Commission loosens prohibition on NIL payments
  2. If he wants something sporty, look into the Seiko Alpinist line.
  3. RB room is now looking like a real weak spot. Wisner is a known quantity - great vision and patience, but slow and undersized. He only made hay when our O-line dominated the opposing D-line, and we've lost a lot of experience there. Gibson needs to stop fumbling and develop some vision. And everyone else is unproven and inexperienced. Blue couldn't stop fumbling but he was also the only RB who could do anything when our O-line was getting dominated (see Georgia and Ohio State). He scored 14 of the RB room's combined 24 TDs and led all our backs in YPC. And now we have no one who can replace him. We needed a back with top-end speed who can be a threat running routes out of the backfield.
  4. I have a similar suspicion with kicking. We brought in Shipley hoping he'd resurrect our kicking game, but so far all we've heard is that he's in a "battle" with our fucking kickoff specialist Will Stone for the job. I suspect FG kicking will be substandard and unreliable again this season.
  5. 2003 was a wild offseason. Washington fired Rick Neuheisel for betting on college games, Iowa State's bball coach was fired for getting publicly wasted at frat parties and hitting on co-eds, and then the Price scandal came along and blew everything previous out of the water.
  6. 2002 season. blOU was #1 for a while, then got upset by A&M and Okie Lite to hand us a chance to win the Big 12 South. Of course, we bungled said chance after Kliff Kingsbury tore Bull Reese and our beleaguered defense apart in Lubbock. A&M fans were frothing at the mouth about how great Reggie McNeal was after the A&M game, only for blOU to get revenge next year to the tune of 77-0.
  7. ftfy... Mack gave scholarships to Kendrick Turner and Monti Collier, and ignored this dude in his own backyard.

  10. Chuck Fairbanks routinely used spies to glean information from his opponents' closed practices. He tried the same thing against Colorado in 1972 and got caught red-handed.

  12. Professors earn vastly different salaries, depending on their field and the school they teach in. Business school professors make a hell of a lot more money, in part because business schools bring in a ton of $$$ through expensive MBA degrees and alumni donations from the corporate ranks. Next are teachers in the engineering departments, followed by those in the sciences and liberal arts who heavily rely on grants. Business school professors don't have to run labs. Business school Ph.D grads don't slave away in post-doc roles for years, while engineering post-docs will make roughly $60-70K/year at an R1 university. Most science post-docs make the NIH minimum, which was $54k/year up until recently.
  13. Or when we did this to them 20 years later...
  14. From the late 1950s to the early 1970s, the Texas-Arkansas matchup was basically the de facto SWC Championship Game. Both Royal and Broyles won national titles during that time frame as well. Meanwhile A&M had something like nine consecutive losing seasons (except for that one Cotton Bowl win over the Bear they still boast about), Baylor was rarely competitive, TCU + SMU played the occasional spoiler, and Rice + Tech were along for the ride, so to speak.
