  1. The Athletic recently put out a puff piece praising BV's no-visit policy. Ari Wasserman: How Brent Venables changed my view on Oklahoma’s ‘no-visit’ policy
  2. Sixers went completely ice-cold from the field when it mattered most, while Tatum became red-hot simultaneously. Just the worst possible luck, but the Sixers have no one to blame but themselves. Game 7 is a surefire Boston win. Those last ten minutes took all the fight out of Philly.
  3. Eric Nahlin: Five things we know about Texas recruiting this Spring
  4. The picture is absurdly oversaturated, like all Hayes graphics
  5. Got a nice birthday present! 38mm Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical (the gently modernized pre-2018 model with a date complication, as opposed to the newer no-date vintage one). Very thin and light at 9.5mm, in-house H-50 movement (a modified ETA 2804 with a thinner hairspring, beat rate reduced to 3 Hz and the power reserve increased to 80 hours). Long-ish lug length of of 47mm, just about fits on my skinny wrist. Probably going to get a single-pass NATO or Perlon strap for it at some point, since there's a larger-than-normal gap between the drilled lug holes and the case.
  6. This'll help A&M's recruiting, I'm sure.
  7. Bobby Burton: Texas' first-round drought ends, with more early picks on the way in the coming years
  8. Joe Cook: Four first-rounders battled Kelvin Banks in 2022. The freshman more than held his own against all four.
  9. You'd be surprised at how big an impact experience (even crappy experience) has. I don't think Deion is being more asshole-ish than other coaches in a significant way when it comes to the portal, and there's clearly a method to his madness. But a roster with as little experience as his is going to have will not win many games at all. I think his supporters will have to be patient, next year will not be a quick turnaround. But beyond that...
  10. Wonder what's the story here... did the Colorado spring game go that badly?
  11. Lol. Mike McKenzie was the guy who wrote those private insider newsletters that got Fran busted from the CoachFran.com days. Idk if even KKL is on his level of insane devotion.
  12. Not to belabour the point but Jeffcoat killed it at the combine. 4.63 s in the 40-yard dash (4th-best among all DL and 5th-best among all OLBs behind Ryan Shazier, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Telvin Smith, and Jadeveon Clowney) 4.18 s in the 20-yard shuttle, #1 among all defensive linemen and #5 among all OLBs. 123-inch broad jump (tied for 5th-best among all OLBs) 6.97 seconds on the 3-cone drill (2nd best among all defensive linemen and 8th best among OLBs). Only bad performance he put up was the 18 reps on the bench press, probably due to his pectoral tear history (which we know now is usually a sign of repeated juicing).
  13. Thompson has a while to go before he's an all-conference level safety, IMO.
  14. I don't pay them a cent. Paywalls can be easily bypassed. https://gitlab.com/magnolia1234/bypass-paywalls-firefox-clean
