    All viewpoints are distorted viewpoints.

Anyway people talking about sports is less fun than watching sports. As I got older I have less time or patience for watching anything other than the actual games. Especially since unless they are exceptionally nerdy with their Xs and Os, the talking heads rarely said something that enhanced my enjoyment of watching the games anyway.

Not really the talking heads' fault. These days there is so much game sports content on TV and so many scores and stats online you can see with down to the second accuracy, having to rely on a show like Sportscenter to know what is going on is long in the past. It is kind of amazing ESPN has chugged on with this kind of content as long as it has.

*for what it's worth and I've said this in the past...

IF you have surround sound on your tv system, unplug the center speaker that has all of the booth commentary/tv commercial sound running through it. This allows me to watch the game(s) with little to no bullshit play by play or color analyst. It's like being at the game in person, but being able to silence the idiots in your vicinity so you only see/hear the game itself. It's dope.

Arnold needs a year, we won't see him. Venerables getting his defense in order and his secondary is improved. Their offensive line is going to sink them from being a contender in Big12 this year. They aren't great and have zero depth. The dropoff from 1s to 2s is enormous. Receivers are meh as a group and with little time to throw for Qbs,  I don't think OU fans will like what they see in year two.

We should win very comfortably (20+)

    TL:DR version...

    OU sucks.

Billy is Goebbels, and just like his audience did, the aggy faithful (despite the years and years of evidence to the contrary) drink up the Kool-Aid and believe what he feeds them with little to no pushback, lest you be seen as a "2%'er". Assuming he keeps the lights on and they don't turn on him, he's going to live like a king in CS and die a wealthy man, all thanks to morons that insist upon someone taking their money from them.

Didn't we go on to score 56 on them or something?

    Texas won 50-20.

The best part, was my diehard aggy friend was still on RC's side until they showed the locker room speech he gave to his players before they went out on the field to play Texas. Verbatim..., "Men, I want you to go out there and savor this game like it's the last bowl of Blue Bell Ice Cream." The look on the player's faces and my buddy's as they heard that was priceless.

Within a month, if memory serves, he was shitcanned and they hired Nick Saban. It’s still the greatest moment I’ve ever experienced as a radio listener, and I’ve heard Dave South’s Baylor call.

    CSB:

When I lived in College Station, some aggy friends and I would always make the Wings-N-More RC Slocum call in show at the restaurant. The show prior to the Texas game in his final season will always be a favorite memory for me. Usually, people showed up early and requested to sit in the room with the show to hear coach pontificate about the previous game and how they would do in the next. They had beaten #1 OU at home 2 weeks earlier, only to lose to unranked Mizzou the following week, also at home. The writing was on the wall, but they still had to play Texas in Austin.

We showed up at our normal 30 mins before the show and it was packed with people. We got the 2nd to last table in the room, and it was relatively normal and just like every other time we'd gone. You could hear Dave South mumbling something to himself about getting the radio equipment ready and to start as soon as RC walked into the room. Then, RC walks in as if the mute button was pressed on the room. Quiet. Every person in that room had a red face and was staring daggers into RC as he deliberately made his way to the table with Dave. No handshakes or high-fives today. The restaurant has food out for RC and Dave to enjoy while this interview goes on, but neither touched their plates or drinks. Dave gives the introduction as if someone has just informed him that his favorite dog has died, most likely at the hands of RC, then asks a handful of the softest questions imaginable. RC begins to speak and the ambient temperature rises about 2 degrees with the end of every sentence. The show lasted about half the normal length of time, Dave sounded as depressed as when Zeigler caught the ball, and I was the only person smiling in the room. I'll never forget the feeling that room had and I respected the hell out of RC after getting through it. That room was pissed off and wanted to see RC fired on the spot and he knew it. As deafening as the silence was when RC arrived, the room was equally as deafening when he left. I haven't heard the word "fired" that much since The Apprentice marathon on CNBC. 🤘

  7. “Well, I think anytime you're a receiver, and you're playing with a broken hand, that's a pretty important aspect of your game,” Sarkisian said. “And that guy never wanted to sit out or not play. He came to work. He fought through it. There were days in practice where we purposely didn't throw him balls just to take some of the pressure off of it. But I think we're going to see a version of Xavier Worthy, that's going to be dramatically different now that he's healthy.”

I guess "dramatically different" means he's going to catch the ball. Cool. That's what we need in our WR group...catching.

Rubes. Almost all of them are rubes.

My favorite part of the move to sec is that all that conference love they spouted about when they joined is all but gone and their bitterness towards it is in full swing.

“Texas only does what’s good for Texas!” - some texag rube

Yeah. No shit. That’s literally the job. To do what is best for your school you work for. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Also, I just want to beat the teams on our schedule. If you’re not on the schedule I don’t give a fuck about you or your team.

Wow....it has sent ripples across the college world....I'm still waiting for that ripple.

...Did you feel that? I felt something. It might be gas, but it was a low, deep type of rumbl... nope. It was just gas.

Still, I bet the ripple is coming though. Any minute... wait, I don't exactly feel it, but I hear something. It sounds like clicking or maybe a metallic sound of something moving across metal. Almost as if it's some sort of track system, like a rollercoaster car traveling up the first hill, maybe? Yeah, that's it. It's a rollercoaster.

Snorted LOUDLY in a meeting when I read this post.  I knew that A&M was coming on the list of "6 Texases" but it happened anyway.
Those fucking goobers aren't even as smart as a bowl of soup.

Notice they referred to it as six "Texases". Not six "Floridas". Or six "Alabamas". Or even six "aggy". They acknowledge we're Top Dog even when they try to put us down.

The best part of that diatribe is the fact he lists aggy last. He did that because he just couldn't let his Ego put that sentence on paper without including aggy on it, but he knows it isn't true or he would have listed them at or near the beginning. Reading it just makes you laugh for a new reason each time. #Giftthatkeepsgiving

These screen shots are an amazing mix of paranoia, an inferiority complex, delusion, conspiracy theories, and hatred, all fueled by their stupidity and inability to separate truth from propaganda by people paid to lie to them. It’s remarkable.

This is probably the most clear, succinct explanation of the aggy hive mind and their inability to change or evolve. It never deviates.

Funny part is they fit in way less than we do. I have been too and worked with people in almost every SEC town and for the most part they are way more similar to Texas fans than aggy.

That's because aggy is that weird cousin that you go to talk to at a reunion/family get together, wherein you can't remember why everyone else talks bad about them or tells you to avoid, until 5 mins into a conversation with them. Then you get it.

Aggys/Vegans/Crossfitters - They HAVE TO find a way to talk about themselves. The conversation always leads back to them and their thing.

They’re cult garbage with no fucking clue.. Always have been and always will be. Maintaining the cult is all that matters as it allows them to exist with false hope ingrained as a narrative of unrewarded greatness and recognition they have been denied from outside corrupt influences designed to keep them down. To inject reality and self awareness is akin to non-existence in that fucked up world they live in. That is why you will never see them embrace any culture change or entertain the thought of such a thing.

Classic external locus of control. It's not my fault, it's everything else, outside of me, that is the problem. Sound familiar?

I was thinking about this last night.  How humiliating it must be as a father to learn that your son fucked up his future to this extent, for what?  College football rivalry?  And then having to tell other family and friends and young Dfigs is again changing his name.

I had forgotten about the comically tall chick in the wife’s wedding party picture.

This picture is killing me. I had to show it to my wife (no pics), just to make sure I wasn't crazy, and she called it immediately. What bride in their right mind has bridesmaids' dresses that are white? Even if the camera messed with the coloring, that's too close to white and doesn't allow the bride to stand out at all. What a racist dipshit.

If that’s how you choose to look at it, I can’t stop you.

Perhaps go back to my original statement.

It’s more of an observation than a spin. It’s not to say we suck or we’re overrated. It’s that we have a ton of close misses. Maybe more so than any program in any sport.

To put it into perspective for me, Nolan Ryan also had a lot of "close calls" with no-hitters and he is also still known as one of the greatest of all time. People get bogged down in numbers sometimes and forget that the journey to even get to Omaha is not a cake walk. Getting to Omaha is an accomplishment, winning there is even more so, let alone, taking it all down. Now, you can tell how special Nolan was looking at the number of no-hitters, but his numbers showing how close he was are even more impressive. That's how I view Texas Baseball. 🤘

    • 7 career no-hitters (next-most is 4)
    • 12 career 1-hitters, tied with Bob Feller
    • 18 career 2-hitters
    • 31 career 3-hitters

I really hate to be like this, but on our way out the door I kind of think we need to be honest.

Nobody gives a fuck about either ISU or KSU.

I asked the question and @Al_4_ISU was nice enough to answer me. I truly didn't know what it specifically related to and I'm glad I have this info going forward. I'll miss ISU and KSU, as I respect both schools and most of the fans I've meet since they joined us in the creation of the Big XII. Both teams are a tough out and play hard. I'd take ISU to go with us in a heartbeat, but I get why that won't happen. I hope ISU or OSU win the conference the year after we leave it. While I'm hoping though, I hope Baylor collapses into a sinkhole... due to some construction site mishap involving Chip and/or Joanna while renovating another shitty Waco house.

I went to UH for my doctorate. The bolded part is absolutely true. I remember being astonished at how much the undergrads loathed Texas, considering these were kids who would have been born during the final years of the SWC or after it’s death, and there was no relationship between the schools throughout their lives. There was is a near-Aggie level inferiority complex with them.

    Brunch at Hugo’s Sunday morning…..

MAybe I’ll get some DimSom  before the game as it won’t be season for Viet Cajun crawfish. I assume we’ll be a night game.

Just have to figure out what to do about dinner if it isn’t. Killens? IDK.

Post game at the Men’s Club, though.

This sounds like the Jim Gaffigan bit about vacations...
